Aug 2003 We had a great time at this campsite. The owners where very helpful and friendly, the facilities were all very clean. The caravans are well spaced with lots of room for the children to run around.

July 2003 Our family had a really good stay at Pitton Cross. Family friendly site, five different fields to pitch in with mature hedging to seperate them. Can choose where you want to pitch. All dogs on leads, dog free field. The site was well maintained and looked after. Abundance of free hot water, no queueing for showers. Three sink units indoors for washing up. Washing machine and tumble drier. (Drier was useful and effective. Owners were friendly. No alchohol sold on site. Path to the beach was rather overgrown and a good mile. Lots of good beaches in the area. Rhrossili was excellent. Plenty of surfing (Best not to go the Hill end side as it can get buisy)Cost was £14 without a hookup but you do get free hot water. Would certainly reccomend, especially for families. Yet ther was also alot of single couples too.

July 2003 We were very pleased with this camp site. It's in a very quiet rural spot and there is no pub within easy walking distance. All the pitches are on level ground and there are lots of hedges for shelter. The facilities are basic but always very clean. The showers and washing up facilities always had very plentiful supplies of hot water and never a queue. There was a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a little bath for babies and very young children. The owners were really, really friendly - even showing new campers to good pitches. When we were there they put a sign up saying that they were full but there was still loads of room so they definitely don't overcrowd the place. The small shop sells what you would expect and is dearer than a normal supermarket (as normal). In addition it has a great range of kites and candles. Mewslade Bay is the nearest cove and is about a mile through the countryside. We are not great walkers but it is an enjoyable walk through fields and farmland but I guess it wouldn't be suitable for buggies or very young children. We would be pleased to stay there again, mainly as it is level, quiet and clean with a great supply of hot water and near to fabulous scenery such as Wormshead!

July 2003 Very friendly site, ideal if you want a relaxing weekend, run by a family with 100 pitches I think so rather small, but there was a lot of space which was good. Its set out over 6 fields which are all very flat so our tent didn’t keep trying to get away from us. Also very sheltered because of the high hedgerows. It’s a short walk to the sea, and we found a beach called mewslade, which was absolutely stunning but also very quiet, but I don’t think you could get a push chair down there so maybe not for young children. If you want a site that has got lots of facilities such as a bar, swimming pool or a club-house then I would definitely not recommend this site. The facilities are basic but well kept and we didn’t have to pay for hot showers, although the laundry room I believe you had to pay for. The shop was as to be expected from a small site, they sell lots accessories for the beach, essential food supplies but no alcohol, they charge about the same as any local shop. The play area was very basic, not very good but they said they were waiting for new equipment to arrive I’m not sure how it compares with other sites in the area as we have never been to Gower before, but I do know that we had a lovely time there and, if we were to go back to Gower then we would definitely to pitton cross.
