Fabulous site. Perfectly situated for beautiful walks and drives to explore the Gower.
Great sized pitches so no crowding and super clean and well attended facilities. Always hot showers!
The team are very efficient and Ian was very helpful to all. We visited in the summer so were lucky to have the bonus of a hot breakfast sandwich and pizza van in attendance three times during the week.
The shop is well stocked with pretty much everything you may need and a superb collection of kites and beach paraphernalia for sale.
Dogs were welcome and a nice walking area available for them too.
The campsite was also on the bus route for surrounding areas and this was a great service.
Would definitely stay again!

First of all the people who run the site are all brilliant and helpful. But sad to say it vastly over priced for what you get. I paid £38 per night for caravan with awning and 2 adults 6amp electric supply is not good enough.
Open all year but grass not cut until late April.
Gravel roads and only waste is at top of site!
Toilet blocks have no heating and showers are only warm, certainly not hot. Asked if they could be turned up but told no.
It’s not easy to get to the beach as local farmer had padlocked the gate.
Personally we would not return but can see why people would try it out as it’s near ish to Rhossili.

A fantastic clean campsite. A well stocked shop and good facilities.
With lovely walks and disk golf on site it meant you could really relax and take in the beautiful views.

The campsite looks a little tired when you arrive and looks rather natural/wild in places. A bit rough and ready. But we could just glimpse the blue sea glistening across the fields and there was a gentle breeze and we relaxed!
It's a lovely spot. Please note the site can be very windy so take care when pitching and consider a wind break.
Pitches were a reasonable size and are based on the size of your camping unit. The grass on the pitches was in good condition and well drained Some areas are separated by space between units, others by taller grasses and wild shrubs/flowers. There are several pitches with EHU and lots of water points.
The toilet block is located at the entrance to the site behind the shop so if you are at the far end of the site it could be quite a walk.
The block is dated but was always clean and functional. They appear to have been generous to the ladies with plenty of hot showers, separate washing cubicles with basins and toilets.
There was a hairdryer (think it was 20p to use). The mens was a bit more basic often with a short queue for the four showers. Baby changing room and a separate disabled toilet. Washing up room, rather than open air, protects you from the elements! Small laundry for washing/drying too.
There is a small park area and a few open spaces for the children to play.
Small shop was well stocked. However, if you are going to cook there is nowhere local to shop. Suggest you stock up in Swansea where there are many large supermarkets. It is about 30-40 minutes drive depending on traffic.
If you don't want to cook there are several small places in Rhossili. The Lookout does good quality food. Helvetia Bar at Worms Head Hotel has stunning views and is great for drinks, but food is disappointing. We didn't use The Bay Bistro, but it smelt fantastic.
There is a pop up food van on the campsite over the summer, doing pizza/burgers and breakfast rolls a few days a week. We didn't use it and you need to preorder but given it is run by same team as The Lookout it will probably be very good!
The location of the campsite is its best feature. The area is amazing. There are lots of beaches and bays to walk or drive too. If using the car have plenty of cash to hand for the carparks. And look out for wild sheep, ponies and the odd cow!
Rhossili beach is breathtakingly beautiful. National Trust car park and toilets/showers at the top. Wide expanse of clean sand and sea. Paragliders launch from the top of the green hills behind the beach which is great to watch.
To the left of the beach are cliffs rising from the sea with bits of shipwreck and little caves to explore. But be prepared for the walk back up from this beauty! Along the tops of the cliff you can walk to Worms Head and the sunflower fields.
We loved the far end of Rhossili beach at Llangennith. It is about a 20 minute drive round. Park at Hillend for beach access over the dunes. Surf lessons run from here and you can hire boards in Llangennith village.
Eddy's beach bar does the best breakfast after an early morning dip in the sea. The food was excellent and more great views over the dunes out to sea.
If you are into rock climbing there is excellent sport at Rhossili and trad on your doorstep. You can climb directly from the beach but need to plan around the tides as the base of the routes is cut off rather quickly.
Further up the cliffs is trial wall, a great little non-tidal spot with stunning views. Oxwich a little drive down the coast has great bouldering on the beach.
Port Eynon about 10min drive away has the best rock pools, we saw lots of crabs/ starfish/ fish and spent a couple of hours exploring over the rocks at low tide. There are also several chip shops and a couple of pubs. You can walk/ scramble to Culver Hole, an old smugglers cave, or a dovecote!
For a rainy day either pop on your waterproofs, get a good book and stay in or maybe venture further afield for cover!
We had several wet days so popped to Swansea and did Ninja Warrior UK, Plantasia mini zoo and The National Waterfront Museum.
The staff were very friendly at Pitton Cross, always with a wave or hello. We saw the site fill up and even when the sign stated the site was full it didn't feel it.
There were no issues with noise on the site and it had a lovely laid back atmosphere. We met a wide range of campers. The fees are very reasonable.
We stayed for 10 days and would definitely return to this campsite because of its price, staff and location.

Clean, excellent facilities, although busy, never had to wait for shower etc.
Friendly staff good sized pitches, looks a bit overgrown but soon realised it's a wild rustic look.
Very calming

Very well kept site and well stocked little shop. The owners were very friendly.
The pitches were spaced so that you didn't feel squashed in.
There is a bus stop at the entrance with regular service
I had a lovely week stay and would definitely return

Pitton Cross isn't the sort of campsite we would usually use. We usually go for more basic sites with less facilities, so although the set up looks tired, it was certainly adequate for our needs. There were short queues for the showers and dishwashing if you went at busy times, but we never needed to queue for toilets.
The shop stocked enough selection to make going to a supermarket unnecessary, and prices seemed reasonable enough. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant and in evidence during the day.
The location was superb, small beaches within walking distance of a couple of miles, and Rhossili and Port Eynon were only a few minutes drive away.
There was a small play area that was well used, and room in the Stone Circle for other games. Lots of children on bikes and even an e-scooter zipping up and down, but all campers were considerate and drove slowly around the site.
We found the closeness of the pitches a little unnerving, we prefer much more space around the tent, and it felt like we could hear everything from either side. Despite the Covid rules, there were obviously several groups using the site and they were quite noisy although all noise did stop at 11pm. Also despite the rules of the site, we saw at least two open fires, and visitors from off-site, which made it feel less secure.
I wouldn't rule out visiting again, but it wouldn't be our first choice of a site merely because of the lack of space between pitches.

Great site. Friendly staff who were very thorough at check-in and directed us to our pitch. Observed them managing an emergency and found them to be very helpful.
Facilities were adequate but not very modern, although mostly clean. Drainage could have been better at our pitch.
We had a lovely time and would recommend the site to friends and would stay there again.
