This was the first time we have been to Gower and we found it simply stunning ! The scenery was amazing and the beaches second to non. There is just the two of us with our westie dog and we love walking whether on the beach or along the cliff tops, we enjoyed all of it ! The campsite suited us perfectly not too busy and lovely and quite at night. We found the toilets clean and the showers always hot never having to queue once over the whole two weeks we were there. We found the owners very welcoming, the camp shop is ideal selling everything from bread to gifts. We visited all the beaches on our stay the bonus being they are nearly all dog friendly. We were lucky enough to have lovely weather with only one wet day, and came home with a nice Welsh tan friends said it looked as if we'd been abroad! The area has lots of lovely pubs and places to eat. We will definitely visit this site again in the future as we had a fabulous time.

This is a great site right on the edge of Gower and amongst some amazing scenery! It's a good drive from Swansea so there are no supermarkets instead relying on the camp shop or a grocery store down the road (10mins drive) in the village of Scurlage. Prices were very reasonable with lots of local produce.
The site itself was one of the best I've been to with great facilities. Always clean and despite going right at the peak of summer I didn't have to queue for the showers. Lots of people have said that the toilets were a bit dodgy by lunchtime but we never experienced it, and were always clean. There were mop buckets containing bleach in the shower area for campers to clean the shower cubicle after each use which most did. There were, however not enough hooks in the shower and a shelf would be handy instead of balancing shampoo on the pipe! Water was always hot and plentiful.
As I have already mentioned, the site is right on the edge of Gower near to Worms Head. The Worms Head pub is good value with some delicious meals. Well worth it plus excellent views of Rossili Bay.
Beaches were fantastic too. Mewslade is a good walk with a small climb down through rocks onto the beach. My 4yr old managed it in crocs, me in flip flops! Not ideal but the beach was spectacular great for body boarding. Watch the tide though as it's not staffed with Life Guards and it comes in super quick. Rossili beach is stunning too. Vast. Clean, but facilities are a good walk away on the campsite near the entrance.
Other than the Worms Head pub, we visited the Dolphin Inn at Llanrhidian for a pint (only served snacks but the Cockles and lava bread bake is recommended). The Greyhound Pub also in Llanrhidian is fantastic for families! Excellent value food, great service, lots of choice and a fab play area in the back.
All in all, Pitcross is a site we will visit again and again. We had a warm welcome upon arrival and had great knowledge of the local area! Loved it!

This is an excellent site for visiting the beautiful Gower coast Worms head and Rhossillie point
It is out in the wilds being about 28 miles out of Swansea down very winding lanes (note for towing!)
We had a sea view which was great but the weather broke as it does often in this area. Fine if you are the rugid outdoors type however it didn't spoil our enjoyment.
Quiet and restful no noise when we were there and visitors seemed to follow the 'camping code' of mutual respect.
The toilets were clean if a bit outdated and staff were friendly. The shop was well stocked.
Good site for visiting this beautiful area.

This was not our first choice but as we had left it a bit late to book we went ahead. On line availability and booking very convenient and efficient.
The site is located just about as far as you can go before Rhosilli. Its very picturesque but not convenient for other attractions or facilities so be prepared to drive a lot. Access to the site is straight off the road and is easy to find but the Gower roads are narrow in places so you have to squeeze past traffic in places.
Check in was reasonably efficient owner a little bit dour but ok. Pitches are not pre set so the owner goes off to see what is available when you arrive and we were able to have a choice of pitch. We had booked a hard standing which are made of hard core, and our pitch was level and dry. I'm not going to list the facilities as they are all on the web site but all fairly basic, no frills in standard.
All facilities are located by the entrance, so some distance from some of the pitches. Apparently the site is in a protected area so they are unable to extend or add any further buildings. The ladies showers and toilets were acceptable and water always warm. The wash up and laundry likewise. My other half said the mens were inadequate and not clean. There were mops available in the ladies but I'm not a fan of sloshing dirty mop bucket water around. I never saw any cleaning take place and a pebble left by one of the basins was there for at least 24 hours. The site itself and the bin area were rubbish free and tidy. There was a good mix of ages on site and no rowdiness.
The kids playground has new equipment but my 11 year old was not impressed and my 6 year old preferred to ride around on his bike.
The sea is visible from the site and there are walks over the fields from the site to Rhosilli and one to a rocky cove which my 6 years son and I took one evening. It was a pleasant walk, level and well marked but there are styles to negotiate and the last 400 yards down to the sea were a bit tricky but we made it.

Pleasant site, previously a farm. Friendly reception and good shop. Toilets and showers could do with a little updating and more regular cleaning
We booked a hard standing with ehu. Pitch fine but grass pitches seemed much larger.
Wonderful location especially the walk across fields from the site to the lovely Mewslade beach. Also cycled, on electric bikes, to Rhossili and the Worms Head, Oxwich and Port Eynon (fish & chips recommended. Took advantage of the summer heat wave and spent days on the beach, returning to the site for BBQ in peaceful setting

Had a very peaceful few days here midweek. The site then was fully booked at the weekend and a lot busier. The pitches are a reasonable size and still ok. They could probably do with cleaning the facilities a little more often when this happens as there aren't many ladies toilets and a number were unusable by breakfast time.
The staff were very helpful, they gave us a choice of pitches as we said we would prefer as quiet as possible. Its a much bigger site than we normally use but its in such a lovely part of the countryside. They hire out freezer blocks for a nominal charge and that shop has good supplies and tourist information is available next door.
We would definitely return but probably try to do a monday to friday stay to avoid it being too busy.

Stayed here in absolutely atrocious weather, rain & 45mph winds. Other sites probably have more shelter than this, but it was unusual weather. The next day the skies cleared & we were treated to fabulous views out to sea.
The site is open all year, & reasonable in low season£18a night with no extra charge for electric or dog (there is in high/mid season). Facilities great, all clean & well maintained, free showers etc, & well equipped launderette. Excellent shop, full of gifts, food, kites etc.
Staff were friendly & obliging, had a warm welcome on arrival. Due to the weather didn't attempt walk to beach etc. Apparently a dog friendly pub at scurlage, a couple of miles away. We drove to port Eynon, 15 mins away which had an excellent beach & cafes/takeaway.

Stayed at this site for 2 weeks. Arrived to a warm welcome after a 4 hour journey. Given a chose of 2 pitches next to the play area which must be new and my children 8 and 10 spent many hours in it. We had hardstanding which also had a grass area next to it to pitch the awning. Pitch was a great size plenty of room. The site was full when we arrived but you wouldn't have know it.
Plenty of showers and toilets with lots of hot water showers have a push button (free). Unfortunately due to other campers the toilet block in the evenings did become very dirty with toilet paper on the floor and unflushed toilets and this wouldn't be cleared until the next day. Great washing up area all under cover and washing machine and dryers for the cloths.
The site has a shop which sells all the essentials and not far down the road are small grocery stores with most goods. Swansea has all the big supermarkets. The beaches are a walk from the site and over fences so not suitable for buggys or the less able, but they are well worth the walk if you can.
Some great geocaches all along the coastal path. Our pitch held up well in the welsh weather but in the field behind us a family had to move their tent as it had turned in to a bog. The site does get the wind being on the gower but there are hedges which do help break the wind. The site got quieter the second week but on the BHOL weekend was very busy again.
I cant praise the site manager enough as he was out until 11. 00 pm telling the louder groups to reduce the noise and stop the older children from playing in the park after dark. Great site would return

The ground has suffered from the atrocious British summer we have just returned from pitton cross having had a fabulous time. We arrived last Sunday and was shown to our campsite having started to set up we realised that puddles of mud had formed due to the downpour prior to our arrival.
Day two we spoke to the owners who agreed to move us to a different site. We moved the tent and caravan this then led to our electric hook up lead being too short (we had set the tent up at the front of the pitch to try and give the grass chance to grow) so went and bought a new one. This lead was too tight for the hook up (a fault with the lead not the hook up) so we again spoke to the owners who leant us one of theirs.
The toilet and showers block were clean and a mop was provided for use after your shower, the shop was well stocked. They are fighting a losing battle with the weather but were happy to help us.
The location is absolutely beautiful. We had days on the beaches went into swansea and tenby. Am definitely planning a return visit.

Mixed reviews on this campsite. On arrival reception was helpful and polite and we were given a choice of pitches and chose one with a lovely sea view. Within minutes of starting to put up our tent another of the staff came along and told us we had the tent on the wrong place - we had only just began to put it up and hadn't even got it in position yet, tent pegs were still in the bag!
Toilet block was large enough for the site but got a bit dirty as the day went on and were quite a long way from the pitch, particularly in the dark!
On site shop was good and well stocked but at times the staff were surly and unhelpful.
There was also a large youth camp on site which was extremely noisy at times.
Would consider going back but it wouldn't be my first choice.
