Just returned from a six night break at this lovely campsite. We had only booked for five nights but were so impressed we added an extra night and would have stayed longer but for work commitments.
The weather did help as well being as red hot as it was. The site was very peaceful and quiet even though it got very busy at the weekend. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The shower block, toilets and washing up area, though slightly dated, were very clean with plenty of hot water. Private cubicles with sinks were handy for the ladies, plus very convenient that facilities were open all day.
Perhaps this is not the site for people needing to be entertained, as there isn't a club house or pub on site. The play area for the kids is fairly basic with it's two swings, static pirate ship and various bits of timber to jump on, although our granddaughter and other peoples children didn't seem to mind.
I can say in all honesty that the only problem we could see is that the toilet block could be a fair old hike for people in the bottom fields, but really, that was a minor issue for us. The on site shop was stocked with basic food and sold everything you could possibly want. We even found some Peppa Pig trump cards!
The surrounding area was breathtakingly beautiful. We walked around the coastal path into Mewslade Beach, then onto the famous three mile long Rhossili Beach, then back to Pitton Cross after having a couple of pints of the local brew at Worm's Head Hotel, just loving the view from the beer garden.
I can't stress enough how very clean the beaches were, so much so that we had a swim at Mewslade Beach. Worm's Head is also worth a walk to, but beware! It's a tidal causeway and very rough under foot to get to, but well worth the effort.
All in all, it's a very beautiful area and a fantastic campsite which we will be using again.

We used the site during the busy half-term break and were shown to an excellent level pitch. Most pitches are screened by natural hedges and vehicles / tents are discreetly positioned to give maximum privacy.
Staff were helpful with information about local walks and amenities. The shop is stocked with the basics but I felt that they devoted too much space to tourist knick-knacks and could have stocked a greater number and variety of consumables.
The best thing for us was the walk across the fields to Mewslade Bay, where the beach is present only when the tide is out. A great way to wear out both children and dogs. I'd go again if the opportunity presents itself.

We arrived in the dark and site looked closed.
After 2 laps of the site we decided to park up for the evening.
Although the pitch was large, we managed to find a row of electric hook-ups which had tripped out and ended up running 2 cables across the field.
Then came a knock on the door and a friendly face advised us that the problem was solved.
The next morning we awoke to a fantastic view of the coast and sea.
The site is an excellent base for exploring the coast and we made an enormous fire on Mewslade beach (It was December!) 1/2 hour away.
The site was empty, so we had a free reign of the facilities, but we will be returning when the weather gets better.

Just returned from a fortnight our 1st visit but not our last as this is a beautiful area especially Rhosilli Bay we all got into body boarding.
I thought the ladies facilities were excellent and really clean including a hairdryer and socket if non-electric like us. My husband agreed about the cleanliness of the mens. We didn't need to queue for showers at all which was great. If anything the queuing was at the washing up!
Staff pleasant and helpful and shop had all we needed although went elsewhere too.
Play area small and could do with a bit more but my son still spent a lot of time there (despite the rain). Bikes were really helpful to pop to the loo.
Chips Ahoy at Scurlage did excellent fish, chips and chicken bites.
Swansea was great for us as we had a lot of rain and there was lots to do there including cycling to Mumbles and a visit to Verdi's.

I enjoyed 9 days here. The ablution and washing-up facilities were of good standard - a little crowded in peak periods, but not an overly long wait. Cleanliness was what you would expect at a campsite - could have been a bit better but was not gross. The children's play area was very basic (2 swings, a 'boat' and a balance beam) but catered for the range of my children (2 to 7 years). It was well situated in the middle of the campsite with ample place for children to gather with their bikes.
The campsites were marked pitches (generous size) and divided into groups by hedges - made it feel like a smaller site.
The campsite shop offers some good services such as cashbacks on your debit card (everything on the Gower runs on cash) and an ice-brick service.
Maintenance could be a bit better as the grass is not cut often and when it is cut the clippings are left in large clumps on the pitches - often needing to be moved.
It was a quiet campsite at night - very peaceful.
The local beach is a bit of a far walk with small kids but the site is well located for one of the best coastlines in the world. Absolutely amazing for walkers, mountain bikers, climbers and those just spending beach time.

Another great stay at this lovely site. Weather had been wet and Roger helpful as usual to find a dry spot for us. Luckily the weather improved and the site was buzzing once more. Track to the furthest field has been improved and ongoing work to aid quicker drainage. More hook ups planned though already a lot. Men's showers could still do with improvement / enlarging. All facilities kept clean though visitors could sometimes be tidier.
We used the camp shop more this time, saving us petrol and time going to Scurlage for provisions.
Mewslade still the best local beach and the honesty box car park now has an honesty ice cream freezer and cold drinks fridge - being repaid by perfect trust from the look of it.
Rhossili pub is nearest place to eat and can also recommend the Fish bar at Scurlage - very nice service. Also needed a trip to the Doctor's, where they are very accommodating to visitors.

Just returned from 4 night stay at this site. Facilities were very clean and although the site was full generally no queues (ladies busy at 7 ish in the evening. Mens at 7 ish in the morning!). Pitch was level, bit windy but our tent Vango Icarus coped very well.
We were in the top field which was very spacious and certainly no space issues. Staff were very helpful. Shop stocks basics in equipment and food.Equipment very reasonably priced. Also the stockists of some amazing kites.
We were there to surf and Llangenith was close enough (Hillend is closer but didn't want to risk not getting in).
Pub at Rhosilli is about a mile and a half away (Worms Head hotel) nearest shop is at Scurlage - about a mile wih a chemist opposite (needed sun cream due to unexpected 2 day heatwave). Great supplies for picnics and BBQs.
A great friendly site (no entertainment on site which suited us) which we would return to as Hillend looked very cramped.

Excellent site-ticks all the boxes
Spacious pitches, clean facilities, free hot showers, friendly owners and a very well stocked shop (a comprehensive display of local history and local interest books for sale as well)
Well placed for hikers looking to ''do'' Worms Head or the breath taking views of the Gower coastal walk (as good as the best parts of cornwall!), families for seaside holidays, surfers and sea kayakers for Rhosili beach.
This is definitely a site I want to return to.

This site is in a lovely location with lots of walks from the campsite. Its a large site divided into sections so you don't feel too cramped.
When we arrived we had to wait about 20 minutes before being shown to our plot as there was only 1 member of staff. A bit off putting but they were friendly enough.
The toilet block was nice and big with plenty of showers and toilets. The showers were free. We never had to wait.
The on site shop has some nice holiday gifts with some food but not what we wanted. In the end we went into Swansea for food shopping.
There is no children's play area although in one field there was a kind of low level maze that entertained our daughter for a few minutes!
The campsite allows dogs but not in every field so if you don't want dogs around you could choose accordingly.
Unfortunately the weather at night was awful while we were there. We had tiny little frogs everywhere inside our trailer tent sheltering from the rain! Quite bizarre! After 4 nights of heavy rain the field became squishy under the ground sheet and then started to smell. We had to leave early in the end because of the smell. I guess the fields had been used for cows at some point.
Would we go back? Maybe but not in the near future.

Spent 4 nights at Pitton Cross. We were in the stone circle field with excellent sea views. Site was fairly quiet, management very friendly and helpful. Field was a bit boggy due to bad weather but all part of the camping experience. Walked to Ramsgrove bay just through the campsite and visited nearby Mewsblade and Rhosili. Excellent time and will definitely be returning.
