This was the first Caravan Club site we visited and didn't give us a very good first impression. Wardens insisted we were booked in for 3 nights when we had only booked two. Site was half closed, because of renovation works being carried out over winter, but in that case why did they have more units on site than the open half could cope with??? a couple of motorhomes wound up parked on the roads round the site.
When it was time to leave, we went to the motorhome service point, to discover that while we were draining the water out of the tanks we were blocking the exit road for everyone else because the service point was in a stupid place!
On the plus side it is conveniently located for walking into town.
Not a site we will be rushing to return to.

Lovely clean and well kept site. Staff helpful and polite. Toilet blocks spotlessly clean and tidy with modern equipment. Tesco Supermarket a few minutes down the road at Stow-on-the-Wold. Lovely Ice-cream shop in the centre of Moreton-in-Marsh just in a little court yard walk into the centre in about 7/10 minutes from the caravan site. Kids enjoyed the 5 a side football pitch.

Went here for 1st time for a long weekend, 2 adults, 3 kids (aged 11 & 7) and two dogs. Site was lovely, clean, tidy great toilet blocks a short walk takes you into moreton village with all it's ameneties. We pitched at the far corner near the play area, which has now had most items condemned by health and safety (so no road noise). Kids didn't seem to mind though as there was a large playing field with a crazy golf on it. Our kids took their bikes and had a great time cycling round the site, giving them the freedom they don't get at home.
There was also a very large enclosed dog walk field which we found invaluable as we could let them run and burn off some energy (not sure if they were supposed to be off the lead - but no-one said anything). Met some lovely people especially our neighbours from bournemouth who brought us round some chocolate cake one evening! Yum thanks if you read this.
Went to Birdland in Bourton on the Water which allows dogs on leads and had a lovely time there.
All in all will definitely go again - soon I hope!

This is our favorite CC site that we visited in 2005. There are plently of good size pitches. Take your time to look round the site before setting up as each as an advantage and disadvantage. We went for one that gave us the maximum amount of sun on the awning.
Everything is to the CC standard. As mentioned, the A44 can be a busy road, never really noticed the noise, but others I spoke to had a few concerns.
Moreton has some excellent pubs, especially if you like real ale. If you get the chance visit the market that is held every Tuesday.
Remember to book in advance as it appears that others also like it. Have tried to book late on several occasions throughout the year, only to find that it was full. Partly that it was 1/2 closed to have one of the toilet blocks refurbished.

Just spent a week on this site. Yes they are a little obsessed with grass cutting which is noisy. There is quite a bit of road noise 24 hours a day. Also the vehicles tend to speed down this road and so you need to be careful when walking into the town - especially if it has been raining as the vehicles don't consider the pedestrians when they splash them! The wardens were friendly and helpful until our last day. The local town is ok but it is a main road straight through and can be busy to cross. Some lovely little shops a few pubs/restaurants. The Tuesday market is okay and there was a really good french market on also. Nearby Stow on the Wold is excellent as are many villages, but they do get very busy at the weekends.

May 2004 Cannot fault this site one little bit. The wardens were cheerful right from the off. Welcomed us and happily showed us (newbies) how the gate swipe-card system worked. I had to laugh though. One persons review said that they were obsessed with grass cutting. Well, as we pulled up for the very first time, there was a man with a flymo! That said, that's the only time we saw or heard one. The site was beautifully laid out and clearly signed. Toilet block and facilities were spotless and very warm. Waste points were checked and cleaned regularly and were also very clean and fresh. Tried to rebook for next weekend, but totally full. That says something about the popularity of the site. They couldn't have been nicer to our 7 year old. I will most drfinitely be going back there again, and soon.

August 2003 As per other reviews, nice site, a bit noisy from the road. Reasonable size dog walk on the site. Now all hardstanding except for 9 pitches. I thought the wardens could have been a bit more friendly and helpful and we met a middle aged single lady who had asked for help and had basically been turned down and left with no water in her van until a fellow camper refixed a jubillee clip on her taps.( I know, it's not they're job, but they could have just looked, there was 3 pairs of wardens on site...) I also thought they were obsessive about grass cutting, which bearing in mind we are currently in the midst of a heatwave, (and thus not growing) was cut every day on one or other part of the site. I also felt that some smaller things wern't done, like bollard lights not working, dirty extract vent in showers that was totally blocked with fluff. Possibly I'm being a bit picky...?
NOTE> Dog Owners... We personally felt that the area was not that accomodating towards dogs. We struggled to find many places (including a large castle with grounds) that welcomed us, most turning us away because we had a small dog. 2 pubs in the town do allow dogs, but only outside, however the Fox PH near to Stowe, lets dogs inside. 2002 & march 2003/July 2003 Stayed here several times in 2002 and thought it was very nice. Clean and good pitches. Yes, it's noisy from the road if you parked down there (which we were the first time) Quick walk to the town, which is great for take-aways.
On our last visit july, it seemed to have lost its edge. We only stayed as it was so hot driving we just couldn't bear the extra 20odd miles to Cirencester. The toilets seemed a bit grim and one shower out of order. The time for the toilet cleaning wasn't kept. should be 11 till 11-30. But they were closed for cleaning at 10-45.
Staff not as friendly as other CC sites, and we have never been given a pass for the barrier. OK we have only stayed for one night at a time, but if there was an emergancy we have no means of exiting the park.
Minor niggles--but will only be staying in future here out of necessity.

August 2002 Excellent Caravan Club standards. hanging baskets and tubs adorne the entrance. Very well spaced out site 180 pitches in 21 acres. Lots of hard standings, boules pitch, crazy golf, volley ball and football and two play areas. Toilets where immaculate, infact they are the best sweetest smelling toilets I have been too. Dry change area slopes slightly into shower area, keeping your shoes dry!! There is a little road noise from the main road. A brilliant site to enjoy the Cotswolds and surrounding area.
