Just returned from this site after a midweek break 2 adults and two children, a very nice clean site. The toilets / showers were clean, although it pays to keep the shower button pressed in while showering or it will stop.
The childrens playground is small but there is enough play equipment to keep the children happy for an hour.
Was met at reception by steve, who was more than helpful and found the rest of the staff obliging and happy to talk if you had any problems (we didnt).
The beach is about ten minutes walk from the campsite, the beach is on the stony side, but the children still enjoyed it. There are no shops on site, however there are a couple of shops and a fish and chip shop near the beach.
The RSPB reserve is only 100 yds from the campsite and if you enjoy wildlife or walking it is well worth a visit.
There is a small club on site which has live entertainment on weekends
All in all our visit was enjoyable, and we have booked to go again in august.I would recommend this site to anyone wishing to visit Norfolk.

Stayed at Diglea on the strength of previous good reviews and we're returning this weekend. Would back up everything said on previous review, fish & chip shop is very good, just turn left out of main entrance and walk along (quiet) road for about 3 mins. Great on a Friday evening after you've set up. Groceries can be had 7 days a week at shop on a static caravan site just past chip shop on left, it's not immediately obvious. They're open from 7am she said.
Laundry was useful.
Best of site? I'd say cleanliness of washrooms.
Could improve? Only answerphone at 7pm on a Thursday evening, had to wait until Friday morning to hear if they had free pitches.

Just moved from a trailer tent to a caravan and this was our first outing. Made a good choice in Diglea. We were on the rally field (no electric) so the 12volt and gas were put to the test. Worked perfectly.
Met by Steve at reception and made to feel like old friends instead of first timers.
Busy site and very child friendly. Small play area on site. Plenty of room for ball games, on-site pub. Shop is a 15 minute stroll toward the beach. Fish and chips 5 mins. Toilet / showers generally clean but can get rather busy. Plenty of hot water. Avoid the showers at 7.30am when they are cleaned or use a neighbouring block. Site is basic but well priced at £43 for 3 nights including a bank holiday. Pub landlord had his birthday while we were there. Must have been a good night he was still steaming the next day.
Don`t expect lots of things to do on site. Good base for touring the coast.
We would definitely use Diglea again.

Been to this site a few times now and intend going again this year (2007) - have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful - as we don't like to much noise from kids etc now as ours have left home (hooray) - we have asked on more than one occasion to be allowed on the rally field which is much more peaceful, and the staff have obliged us. Had to laugh at one posting about having to suffer bird song - this site is in the country that's what comes with it and is part of the charm of this area! I love the long walks along the paths and beach. Hunstanton/Heacham/Snettisham has been a favourite with me since my kids were young - have lost count of the number of times I've been to Castle Rising., Kings Lynn has a very nice shopping centre and keeps my wife in her element! The site is very down to earth - you don't feel as if you are out of place with an old caravan and an even older car (1970 Triumph 2.5 PI) - I hate this oh you have to park exactly on this concrete block etc. You have the chance of using electric hook ups but we still prefer the independance of a 12v battery. Toilets and showers are always clean and the hot water never seems to run out! Prices are fair - certainly cheaper that some I can mention - the only downside is the main field can get a bit packed (in July it was) and you can get a few too many footballs into the side of your caravan and barbecues blowing the wrong way so we do try to pick non peak weeks where we have had the place to ourselves! NB don't walk through the shanty town between the lakes and the sea as its not a public right of way- I got told off for doing it ! Bigger fools them - £125.000 for a shack with no electricity! Recommended site. 9/10

Spent the Easter weekend here, Thur-Mon. Very friendly site with excellent staff & very clean facilities. We were lucky enough to be sited where the the toilets blocks had been opened the day we arrived. We were one of 9 units staying together and the staff were very helpful in keeping us all together.
My only concern would be that the family room may longer big enough if the site is full. We were going to go one night but it was packed and very smokey will change of course in July). But, this is only a minor thing and I would definitely like to revisit the site.

Very good pitches, the pitches are massive we could have easily put three motorhomes on the one pitch with more room to spare. Pitch prices are good with or without electric hookup. They also have some hard standing pitches, Unfortunatly we could not stay longer than two days as they were fully booked but we would have liked to.
Diglea is lovely friendly site with friendly service, I even saw the wardens helping people set put their caravans while we were there. Even the ducks are friendly
Very accomodating and friendly people. There is a shop, Chip Shop and small ammusments about 8 to ten minutes walk away and club on site.
This was our first trip out in our Motorhome and it was fantastic! Lovely walks, Nature reserve nearby, Lovely chips from the nearby chippy, Nice beach about 12 minutes walk away.
Everything you could want for a relaxing break only thing the village of Snettsham needs is an ATM machine the site does cater for plastic but it does not cater for cashback yet so take enough money or you'll be having a trip to Hunstanton about 8 miles away. But we spent less that £10 in two days so we didn't have to worry.
If you like a relaxing time fishing / walking and just chilling out then diglea is a fantastic site and well worth a visit

Well, we arrived on what ended up being the most horrendous day, weather wise, for ages. The friendly site staff turned up, without being asked, and helped us erect our poor windswept camp. Bravo for the staff. we booked a pitch in the rally field and although the weather was atrocious it was still fairly busy. There were 23 marked out and serviced pitches and I guess a further possible 40 unmarked pitches. The toilet block which services this field was in a poor state of dilapidation, but not dirty. The gents portion offered 2 closets, 2 showers,2 urinals and 2 sinks for all those pitches?? . In honesty I feel the site would benefit from demolishing it and starting again and to make matters worse the poor staff had to contend with the usual group of mindless morons who decided to 'have a go' at the toilets, which were quickly put back into service. Bravo for the staff again. I would go back here but would book a pitch in the camping area in the centre of the park as their toilet blocks were far superior. All in all a nice site, nice weekend and close to a fantastic beach but bring your first night stores with you, no shops here.

Just returned from Diglea this afternoon. Had lovely weekend, lovely weather and lovely site. Everyone friendly and helpful and site very children and dog friendly. Pitched tent in lovely area with trees right next to kids play area so the kids had a great time and we had a well earned relax! Will definitely be returning to Diglea probably in August. Only down side I could find was no shop on site, it would be useful to have one for your daily milk/paper etc however, shop just up the road so not too much trouble.

We arrived at the campsite on a Thursday and had the pick of the pitches in the tent field as there were only a few people there. Each pitch was marked out clearly with plenty of space, which meant that at the weekend nobody camped too closely as the site got busier. Even when the site got busy it didn't seem too crowded. We decided not to camp in the wooded area near to the kids playground as staff told us it could get quite noisy, but for a family with young kids it would be perfect.
There were plenty of toilet/shower blocks throughout the site. The one in the tent field comprised of 3x showers and 3x toilets. These were kept clean and the soap dispenser even had soap in it! Showers were free, although not very hot, and had an adequate private changing area inside the shower cubicle that was lockable. Pot washing facilities were in a neighbouring block (also inside) and we never had to queue. Fresh drinking water was also available from a tap outside.
We only visited the bar on site once, prices were reasonable although they could have done with more outside seating. There were another couple of bars within 5 mins walking distance and they all seemed pretty similar.
There was a lot to see and do in the local area - plenty of castles and a lovely priory if you like that sort of thing! The beach was only a short walk away, although we found the beaches at Old Hunstanton and further north round the coast to be prettier. Hunstanton is like a mini-Blackpool with amusement arcades and fairground rides, but was a nice place to stop for fish and chips.
We took our dog and only found one beach with an exclusion zone - the camp site was very dog friendly and had a discrete dog toilet area.
The site was well maintained and staff very friendly. We had no problems with noise, except for the birds singing in the morning! We would definitely camp here again

Just spent a bank holiday week end at Diglea for the first time and the first time in Norfolk. I must say how nice the site is. The staff are very helpful and very laid back towards life. The showers were hot and clean and very well looked after in general. A few puddles around because of the english weather but nothing much. Pubs x 3 all clean and tidy beer at a real price not OTT all. Playing live music if that's your thing. The band at Diglea was called the little big band and they were amazing. A good place to relieve stress.
Can't wait to go back we enjoyed it so much we are going back in August for 2 weeks.
