Firstly we'll start by saying we havent been to many sites, however, we know what we like and what we would expect including what is stated on their website. Especially for one charging £40/night!
The site was less than half full so there really shouldnt have been some of the problems, ie wheelie bins overflowing to such an extent there was enough to fill another one!
Flies everywhere, which could be related to the bins or because we were next to the woods and dog walk.
The general cleanliness of the site was lacking, the play area was covered in litter, the toilets weren't cleaned properly and didn't look they had been for some time, the pool was murky too.
The 'soft' play area had sharp edges and masking tape holding it together.
Their website says all pitches have wi-fi they don't and when you move to the bar area where the router is housed it drops constantly.
On a more positive note, the pitches are very large and private and well drained.
This site promises so much but is let down by overpricing and poor maintenance.

Not been to this site for 2 or 3 years and I'm glad to say that the high standards that we've come to expect have been maintained.
Thought it was a little on the pricey side, £106 for 3 nights (2 adults, 2 children).
Didn't use any of the leisure facilities this time, just wanted a relaxing break. Gents shower block was clean, my wife thought the ladies facilities looked a bit 'tired' and they've now installed a key-pad security lock, which was rendered somewhat useless as one of the doors was propped open all weekend.
Was a bit disappointed with the tv signal, not as good as I remember and we kept getting some awful buzzing interference on all channels. Never experienced it before and this must be at least our fifth visit to the site. Tried the digital freebox receiver that couldn't pick up a signal.
Great site, will def be going back.

We have been visiting Bainland for the last 5 years and always loved the site and the set out of it so we booked for a break the week after Easter.
I checked the pricing on the website and even downloaded the price guide and budgeted for a 4 night stay and emailed through my reservation.
Upon arriving we informed that the pricing had increased and that the guide on the website was wrong so I had to book a day less and pay the extra. We don't use facilities and just wanted a place to chill out in our van. I complained to the site manager who wasn't interested. You should pay what is advertised but this wasn't the case with Bainland. I felt that the staff didn't want to help me and were not even willing to try and resolve my issue.
The shop was closed and when requested that they open it so we can buy essentials it was as if we were putting the staff out. The arcade had shrunk in size and the bar / food hall closed most of the time.
Our TV wouldn't tune in either and electric kept tripping out right across the site. Take a charged leisure battery with you.

We visited Bainland Country Park for the first time this Easter break, 2 adults, 3 teen(ish) children.
I had read the reviews before hand and was forewarned about the costs. We paid £161.00 for 4 nights across the Easter break (Fri-Tue), yes it is a bit pricey up to some sites, but the site is beautifully maintained, very large gravel pitches, no soggy grass, plenty of water and waste points and we had 2 adults and three children and our awning up, so all in all. Although it is more than we would normally pay we thought it was fine, can't stay anywhere else at Easter for 5 people with indoor pool and entertainment and activities for 4 nights for £161 !
Despite previous reviews about there being extra costs for the pool, crazy golf, trampolines etc, there was no extra charges made, I assume their costs are now 'inclusive', this was a pleasant surprise as kids could (and did) go off and do their own thing.
You do have to book in for your pool session, as it is only small and they allow a max of 25 people (too many if you ask me, but it was fine, we had it to ourselves on Tuesday as a lot had gone home the day before)
It is relatively easy to find from Horncastle or Lincoln and the site does have great access with a good wide entrance from the main road, no scary country lanes or turning with our new, bigger twin axle van, out for first time!
Reception was easy to book in, ladies were nice and helpful, we were given pitch 52, right next to the golf course, very nice, surrounded by clipped hedges and trees. When we went to set up we realised we had left the electric cable behind at home - they called the maintenance department and they brought us one round within minutes at only £5 to hire for the days we were there. When we had problems with the water pump (teething problems with new van !)they pointed us straight to a caravan dealer in Tattershall to get it sorted, so all in all very good knowledgeable service, no complaints at all.
The toilet blocks are lovely and clean (as I have mentioned in my other reviews, that is a big thing for me !) but was surprised to find only 3 showers in the ladies, could possibly be a queue for them at busy periods, we have a shower in the new van so I tested that out this weekend! So no problems there.
They had provided entertainment on the weekend nights and some kids entertainment as well, our kids are too old for that and we're not big drinkers, so didn't use the clubhouse, but stuck my nose in and it looked fine and the food smelled delicious ! We were going to go in for the race night on Sunday, but we had had a full day out and the kids were worn out and just wanted to watch a dvd. Maybe next time.
The site is situated approx 1 1/2 miles from the centre of Woodhall Spa, easily cyclable and walkable, we went to the Kinema in the Woods for a damp couple of hours, and the kids were fascinated by the old cinema with coat hooks down the side and a proper intermission !
Village has a CO OP and a Budgens, Budgens has a cash machine, so both supermarkets cover all needs quite well. Some nice restaurants and a couple of bars and some quirky shops to look around, we were overall impressed.
Didn't go into Jubilee Park, but we will next time, if the weather is good, it has a good size outdoor pool and other attractions.
My parents booked a bungalow on the site for the Easter break and it was lovely, large living room / kitchen, equally large double bedroom, spa bath in the en suite and some outside furniture on a small patio. That too was really nice and immaculately maintained.
So to end, all in all we were won over by Bainland Country Park and we will definitely return, it is worth the extra costs, it's facilities are great and the staff were nice and helpful, give it a try, you might like it too !

We have just returned from a great weekend at Bainland. The park was very quiet, unsurprisingly as it was out of season - the shop was closed and some facilities (kids trampolines, for example) were out of action. Nevertheless we still enjoyed ourselves hugely.
The pitches are well spaced and have hedges dividing them. The loo block was very clean and there was plenty of hot water, both for showering and for washing up. The showers are push button and the pressure was fine when I used them.
The adventure playground was great, the kids really enjoyed the zip slide and playing hide and seek in the tractor tyres! There were notices saying ball games were not allowed and it would have been nice if there had been a space to play ball.
Didn't try out the restaurant (closed early and staff were very unhelpful). All in all we would return, as we didn't have time to explore the surrounding area and there are lots of interesting things to see.

Had 3 nights at Bainland, 1st time visitors. The site was gr8, well laid out and good facilities. The site pitches (we had a super pitch) were well spaced out and had hedges for privacy. We had on pitch grey waste disposal, clean water, 16 AMP and toilet waste disposal - all worked well and had no problems.
On site there was a shop (could have had more items but was OK), bar and restaurant, as well as an outside covered seating area for those with dogs who wanted tea/coffee or beer. There were a lot of activities for kids but as we don't have any we didn't use any but there were a few kids using them and they seemed happy.
The site is well placed for Woodhall Spa (great butcher on high street) and Horncastle (great antiques). The drive into Lincoln was about 30 mins and an easy drive in.
Please note - if you go to the Christmas Market in Lincoln they do not permit dogs into the market area. This was a major disappointment as we went to Lincoln for the Christmas Market - but unfortunately we were unable to do so.
The staff on site are very friendly and approachable.
Would definitely visit again.

Just returned from a week's break break and stayed on a 'super pitch' these are great and very spacious with, water, waste and tv point. Close to toilets and these were always spotless and the shower cubicles were nice and large. Excellent facilities for the children and the swimming was lovely too. The bar/cafe had a very welcoming feel to it and we enjoyed many a hour sat relaxing and chatting and you could also get free wifi in there too.
Another great aspect was the direct access onto the bridle path in the woods which we explored on the bikes and was a great adventure.
The only disappointing thing about the site, is we found a couple of members of staff (i say couple because they were also some great staff) to be quite unhelpful, and acknowledgeable when we had any queries or was looking for suggestions and sometimes didn't even make eye contact. But other than that we had a great week.

Just returned from a 2 night break at Bainland. We went with as part of a two-family group and we were lucky to be placed next to each other in a double plot. The pitches are large and with bushes all around the two pitches, it felt very private and the kids had plenty of space to play.
The site itself is great for all ages. The kids enjoyed the adventure park, which again seemed very safe and well equipped. There were tennis courts, a small golf course and putting range and a very small indoor pool. The weather was cracking for the weekend so we went to Jubilee Park - about 1.5miles into Woodhall Spa - and spent the afternoon in the outdoor heated pool and play area.
Generally it was a lovely weekend, boosted by the excellent weather - the only downsides I can report is the poor facilities in one of the toilet / washroom facilities. My husband said the showers were little more than a trickle in the mens and there was just one sink and considering this was the closest to the tent field and a lot of the caravans, I felt this was unsuitable. There also seemed to be low water pressure here and the toilets didn't flush easily.
Would definitely return in future.

Visited this site and stayed for 10 days in August,2 adults 2 children (10 & 15) beautiful site, well laid out pitches that were plenty big enough to cope with our large tent (Outwell Maryland XL)complete with EHU (only 10amp though).
Toilet and showers always clean and plenty of hot water. Onsite facilities were plentiful, swimming, golf, tennis and bowls the only drawback, having paid quite highly for the pitch you then had to pay to use the above facilities, not cheaply either. The pool, which was tiny cost £1.75 per person, so a family of 4 to go swimming £7! Bowls were £2.50 pp, golf £5 pp and tennis £5 per court. There was a children's play area which was free but the trampoline was £2 per child.
Although we had a brilliant time it was in my opinion over priced.

Agree with all of the good reviews. Very friendly. Not cheap, but superb facilities and great pitches. The bar is not over priced for drink or food. The shop has quite a good stock of basics foods and necessities, some camping spares and has beer, larger and wine. Prices are not outlandish They stock Camping Gas and propane at reasonable prices. Almost no 02 reception, no Vodafone, but free Wifi in the lounge / bar area.
