We visited this site in the May bank holiday so stayed for three nights. Facilities were very clean and I never had to queue for the shower. Despite it being a large site it never felt busy. Was also very close to the tent pitch. Was a little bit annoyed that I was unable to use any of the hairdryers in the showers as they were not giving out tokens. I nice lady in reception did let me use the dryer in the swimming pool though.
We ate in the restaurant and couple of times and were pleased with the food and the prices were quite reasonable too. Swimming pool looked okay - quite small - but we didn't use this as it was booked up when we wanted to.
Entertainment wasn't particularly great, it was just a basic disco, very child orientated. It would have been nice to have some entertainment that would have catered for all ages e.G. Magic show, band etc.
Woodhall spa was a lovely village, we found a lovely butcher's and baker's. Skegness wasn't far away if you fancy a visit to the seaside. We also went to the kinema in the woods, definitely worth visiting.
I did enjoy my stay but probably wouldn't return as I feel it is a little overpriced, particularly as swimming etc were all charged extra as well as the £28 a night for the tent pitch.

We stayed 2 nights at this campsite in our new tent. The facilities were very good. My son enjoyed the playground and making friends with the children nearby. There is a well stocked shop for the things you forget to bring with you.
The surrounding area is beautiful and there is plenty to see and do to spend a week in the area. I would recommend the site as it had good, clean facilities for all.

We stayed at this site for a long weekend at the beginning of May, over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The pitch that we were allocated was on “pea gravel”, due to the size of our tent, a Vango Diablo 900XP and because we had booked an electric hook up. I’m so glad that we have a footprint for the tent as the pitch was not just pea gravel but stone, some of which were really sharp and by the end of the weekend, had started to poke through the bottom of the tent. I think if we hadn’t had the footprint we’d have been repairing the groundsheet!
On a more positive note, the site was really clean. The toilets and showers were always clean and the hot water was hot! In the ladies toilets there were separate cubicles with sinks in which meant you could get washed in private, this was really nice. There was ample room in the shower cubicles.
The children’s playground was ok, although my children preferred to play football and Frisbee etc with the friends they had made!
Didn’t eat in the restaurant so can’t comment on that although we did have drinks in the bar which were not at all extortionately priced.
We used the onsite swimming pool once and I have to say that this is one of the areas that lets down the site. The water was warm but the chlorine was really really strong, after a while it makes your eyes sting! The changing rooms left a lot to be desired, they were dirty and really unpleasant. They could do with a complete refurbishment of the pool area.
On the whole though it’s a really nice site and I would consider revisiting again some time.

Have visited Bainland quite a few times now and with 3 children aged 10, 8 and 5 it is ideal. Its a peaceful site but not at all dull. The facilities are first rate, my only complaint being that there is often litter in the adventure playground but then that's the fault of inconsiderate campers who don't use the bins provided. I can't concur with the comments about unfriendly staff as we have always found them to be very accommodating. The lady opened the shop for me to buy milk even though it was officially closed.
The site IS quite expensive as there are a number of extras on top of the basic rate. It's also quite annoying that on Bank Holidays the prices increase AND there's a minimum 3 night stay.
We have eaten in the pub/restaurant and the food has always been more than acceptable. I wish they would offer some healthier alternatives like salads / jacket potatoes.
Woodhall Spa nearby has very good facilities. I can recommend The Golden Dragon for Chinese food.
Tatershall Castle is well worth a look round and a perfect spot for a picnic on a sunny day.

We spent a very enjoyable weekend at this site. The pitches were a good site. The shower / toilet blocks were lovely and clean. The shop on site was handy. There was a restaurant on site but we didn't use it as we chose to cook in the 'van.

Arrived at the site and went down a long drive to reception. We were given a nice pitch large enough for a 24ft motorhome and well spaced out.
Site not busy at all due to time of year.
Swimming pool is small but we had it to ourselves showers were warm and ok. Has good faciliites all round would be better in the summer months!
Bar nice and food good although it shut at 6.30pm due to lack of customers - we thought it would be open longer and also have more local trade too.
We walked into the local village had a few pubs and some nice looking restaurants to.
Would recommend a visit !
Nice place would visit again in busier months!

This is the 2nd time away in the caravan and I wanted to try to tow about 100 miles, this site was the perfect distance.
We arrived on Friday and the site looked good, we went to book in and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had difficulty in reversing into the pitch (my fault and not due to the size of the pitch), within a minute of asking for help, someone came and reversed my caravan for me.
The super pitches really are super, the caravan is 24 foot and I drive a jeep and we had tonnes of room either side. The pitches are huge and are hard standing with grass around them, they are also fully serviced and include SKY.
The site itself has all the facilities and all are very clean and tidy. It was really nice to use the pool and Jacuzzi, without anyone else.
I really would recommend this site to everyone.

We were very disappointed with this site, their website build is up to be fantastic. It began when I checked in, the reception staff were so grumpy! I dealt with them several times over a 3 day stay and it was always the same. Didnt even make eye contact- began to get a bit paranoid! However the bar/restaurant staff were much nicer, even though they were really understaffed.
The play areas for children are nice, although a bit grubby.
We used the onsite swimming pool. This is basic, but warm. However the changing rooms were absolutely filthy, lots of the other users were commenting on this as well. There is also a policy of 24 users in the pool at any one time, as its not very big. However, the staff just kept taking the money and allowing over the limit in the pool.
The washing facilities are fine and the water is lovely and hot, although the shower comes out at a trickle.
Despite the site not being busy we were put on the main thoroughfare, not good if you have small children like we do. We should have been more assertive I guess and asked to go elsewhere, but the reception attitude put us off.
Woodhall Spa is a nice little town with lots of tea rooms, there are also lovely woodland walks. The museum is also lovely, as is the 'Kinema' in the Woods.

We have visited this site many times over the past 2 years. Although it is getting to be very expensive now, it is still one of the nicest sites we have been with each pitch nicely set out.
We hope with the increase in fees, the owner of the site will use the extra money to upgrade the shower facilities in the toilet block. The water in the shower cubicles only come out in a trickle. The shower facilities in the swimming pool could do with being upgraded also. The restaurant serve nice food though a bit pricey. Again we hope the owner will use the extra funds to train some of the bar staff how to serve customers with a smile. And it needs to start from the top as during Halloween weekend last year, we asked the duty manager at that time whether it was possible to turn down the lighting for the children's disco and he was so grumpy about it. We could have walked out and returned to our respective caravans and motorhomes but we decided to stay on as the children wanted to carry on with the disco. There were 5 families in our group and we spent quite a fair bit of money on food and drink. That was not the first time when we have been met with service with a scrowl in the restaurant. It has happened to a number of our caravanning friends who have been there over the past year. It is a real shame if the management do not do something about it. On their website, Bainland is one of the top-graded caravan parks in the country. Let's hope with the correct training this will remain to be the case in years to come.
On a positive note, the reception staff are friendly enough and the site still offer a tranquil and relaxing time away from the busyness of life.
I do hope someone in the Bainland management will be able to respond positively to my review.

I have read what people have said about this site being expensive; and at certain times it can be. For people with large families and a couple of dogs it is possibly very, very expensive; but we went as a couple, with no extras and found it very reasonable. We live local anyway and the saving on petrol makes this a good destination; but we weren't expecting such a fantastic weekend. Firstly the approach to the site is very nice, with the large reception and store ahead. The main building houses the indoor pool, jacuzi, hot tob and all the usual reception facilities. We checked in and went to the pitch; in our case the super pitch option. I have never had such a nice pitch, with water, electric hook up, TV (incl. Sky TV), and even our own waste water and chemical toilet disposal! All block paved, with a very well thought out area for the awning. The site itself is very large but set out in such a way as to give privacy, with nice bushes and trees to screen you from the majority of fellow campers. It is peaceful and very quiet, but also has so much to do that I dare anyone to get bored; tennis, golf, bowls, swimming, walking and a games room. I could go on. Suffice to say that for a weekend break for families it is a site that has everything. For a couple like us it is a very restful place, with a handy bar and restaurant that serves great food; I recommend the Sunday carvery very highly. We are already planning on going back early next year, and will take full advantage of the facilities on offer.
