Views, landscapes and the dales charm all add to this site, 2 waterfalls, a stream through the site and if a patch of grass whereever you want is all you need, then very well priced (£13 2xadults 1xchild) for the views alone. If like us you are self contained, portaloo, coolbox, lighting etc and you don't need the facilities then its worth a nights stay, because of the walks and area

Malham has pubs, cafes, 1 shop, we had a cup of tea and coffee at the outdoors gift shop.

The toilets, showers etc were basic but I've seen public toilets in a better state, after a weeks use they'd not been cleaned! The owner was friendly and had his own idea of recycling, 50+ punctured blow up beds is strange. Rough it for one night and don't go near the toilets and enjoy the area.

Read all the reviews and decided to give it a go. What a fantastic 3 nights. Idyllic setting, kids loved the stream. We all enjoyed climbing the waterfall round the corner.

Wasn't surprised by the basic facilities after reading reviews but have seen worse! Malcolm kept himself to himself but was friendly enough.

Nice not to have regimental pitching.Plenty of hot water and toilet roll and 4 of us got showered for 40p.

This campsite is fab and we will definitely be going back.

Great site with excellent views, good value too, visit Janet's Foss just 2 mins; walk from the camp site on the RH side of the road, very pretty.Owner doesn't stand for any noise or drunkards so the site was peaceful by nightfall.

Owner Malcolm is a little eccentric but 10/10 for his recycling attitude, BBQ's from the 80's are still present & neatly stacked, Breathtaking views & wildlife including Peregrine Falcons & Buzzards.

Nice stream ( shallow) running right through the site with a car free zone on the other side of the bank if you so wish.

Would we go back??? Yes!!

£12 per night for a couple with car & large tent, not bad that.

What is all the fuss about this site for. Its just plain fabulous. The toilets were clean, as was the shower, recycling facilities are available, fresh water and washing up areas are accessible for all.

The site was clean, well kept and Malcolm was on hand to help those who had any problems. The sun shined, the birds sang and a golly good time was had by both myself, husband and dog.

What more can you want for £9.00 a night.

We would recommend this site to any of our friends.

The walk along the river to Malham helps build up a thirst for a pint.

Beautiful location with river through the site beside which you may find somewhere to camp. Enough level ground for you to find a pitch and a good hard road running through the site for good access. Ground can be soft in places so choose carefully if it's been raining.

We visited on a busy weekend and yet there was still ample space for all.

As we're self contained didn't use the site facilities so can't comment.

As for the site itself though, it is in a great location, loads of fabulous walks - something for everybody. Good pubs in the village a short walk away. The National Park centre in the village has lots of info and maps about local walks so worth calling in there if you are unfamiliar with the area.

This is a site now on our 'to return to' list!

A real gem of a campsite in the most fantastic surroundings. Beautiful scenic walks from the campsite to Malham Tarn and Malham Cove and close proximity to Gordale Scar and Janet's Foss waterfall where the queen of the fairies lived.

Malcolm the campsite owner offers a warm welcome on arrival and the facilities are basic but clean with piping hot water. There are lots of recycling piles around the farmhouse and facilities block making it appear a bit like Steptoes yard but all credit to the owners for doing their bit to protect the environment. It helps make the place individual and quirky.

Very close to Malham village which has a great pub called the Buck Inn serving great real ales and good home cooked food - a bit pricey but a captive market. The walk back along the lane is about a mile and quite steep but it's wonderful if you get a clear night for star gazing as it is very dark. Enjoy the campsite and the stunning surroundings!

Having read the previous reviews and seen the shots from Google earth, you have to make up your own mind.

Please keep in mind this is not butlins but basic. We pitched by the stream and was happy to watch the sheep and ducks, if you feed them they are going to invite themselves in. The scenery is out of this world and the weather can be too!

Finding the place may be a little tricky but that could be an excuse for the blokes to buy a new satnav. The single track road from Malham is a 1 mile walk and very pleasant, albeit a very steep incline to the campsite (16% steep).

After the 20 minute walk you endeavour is paid off by the pub at the end of the road. We didn't eat there but the prices seemed to have no relation to the food. I think it may have been £17 for a steak meal (singular).

Someone in a previous review said 'Malcolm is a strange one'.Just a thought, he might go home late at night thinking the same about you and a £1000 richer by my calculations.

This place is great, everything you need. We'll be going back for some more wind, rain and sun.

Fantastic scenic location with a fastflowing river which some kids were braving despite the chilly weather. Arrived to a pretty sodden field but managed to find a spot by the river which was not too boggy. The tents were very well spaced out but I suppose the morning's bad weather may have kept people away. There is a constant stream of walkers through the site on their way to Gordale Scar but I quite like a spot of people watching so that didn't bother me.

Had a very strenuous uphill walk after dinner (turn left out of the campsite) but the views were worth it. Also the waterfall on the site is quite a sight and entertaining to watch people scrambling to the top (easy apparently-according to one regular) I gave up very quickly. We walked to Malham Cove too which was worth the uphill trek.

Regarding the facilities-came home with a bowlful of dirty pots and made a bee-line for the bath so say no more, but saying that the actual toilet was clean and the water was very hot, with soap (which had been pinched on my second visit). The huge collection of foil trays, broken foldup chairs, airbeds et al is very strange. There is even a pile of general waste but all in all I would return for the beauty of the location and give the facilities a miss.

What a fantastic drive in, once you pass the village of Malham, then it is a single lane road all the way and what a setting for a campsite, right at the mouth of the Gordale Scar.

A simply basic site, with one toilet and shower for each sex, fresh water and that is about it. Dogs are welcome and is a heaven for walking for them. Check in is at the farmhouse and this is where you will find the toilets, showers and fresh water point too.

It a large open field and you can pitch anywhere you like. There is a stream that runs through the site, however when we were here it was just a trickle as the weather had been lovely for the past two months with very little rain fall.

You share the field with plenty of sheep, so a clean up job on the sheep mess is essential for a clean groundsheet and shoes. They leave you alone, but do like to make a bit of noise early in the morning, but then this is the closest you will get to wild camping, but with facilities, so of course a bit of nature is not a problem.

The ladies toilets are very basic but perfectly adequate, but they do the job, there are three toilets in the ladies and two toilets in the mens. The same is said for the mens in terms of basicness and are clean and usable. There is just one shower between men and women, and it was clean and fine to use and took 10p to run. My friend used the shower and put in 20p and this lasted for ages, longer than needed in fact. There is a washing up sink too at the block.

Walking is in abundance from the site and is a hikers paradise. The village of Malham is approx. 1 mile away where you will find a basic village shop and a couple of pubs. We ate in the Buck Inn and the food was delicious and not over priced. They also had a good selection of drinks.

If you want a larger Tesco or the like, then you will have to go into Skipton which is about 10 miles each way. There you will get your fuel for the car and all your major provisions, which you would be better off bringing with you.

Overall a fantastically basic site that is definitely on my 'to come back to' list. There is no reception on any of the four major networks, so perfect to absolutely get away from it all. £3 per unit and £3 per person, bargain

We stayed for two nights at this beautiful site by the stream, perfect for exploring Malham and its surrounding hills. The site is well spread out and didn't feel busy even though it was full!

The toilet block / washing up facilities were always clean and there was plenty of hot water.

There are no shops near by so buy everything on your way in if you’re not staying for long like we did. The centre of Malham is a fifteen minute walk through Janet’s Foss to the pubs and tea rooms.

We will definitely be returning.
