We loved this site - the facilities are very basic but fine - showers are 10p so you get what you pay for really!

The location is out of this world - truly a beautiful part of the country.

Our kids loved splashing in the stream that runs through the site catching fish and we could sit with a cup of tea and watch them so we were happy.

The payment is rather strange - £3 each for car, caravan, each adult, £1.50 for the kids so didn't work out all that cheap given the facilities but we would still return for the amazing location.

We have just spent a lovely one night on this site with glorious weather too with our family plus my parents!

Beautiful location and scenery out of this world, the atmosphere on site was really laid back and friendly. The children loved the stream rescuing fish as the stream was very low! And the neighbouring sheep and rabbits caused much excitement!

The facilities however were horrible and possibly haven't been cleaned for who knows how long with junk just piled everywhere. This didn't detract from our enjoyment however and we will return, just a shame a good bleaching hasnt been applied to make the facilities at least clean and basic!

Our advice - take a bucket and if your there for 1+ nights you may have to brave the shower but it looks like it may be best avoided. Lee showered there and said it was nice and hot if anything !

We will definitely be returning for the entertaining owner and his eccentric ways and the lovely views!

Beautiful place. Campsite has very basic facilities, toilets, shower (10p) pot washing facilities, untidy and lots of junk about but the camping ground more than makes up for this.

Field is clean, well looked after and litter free and the scenery is out of this world, short walk to waterfall where you can climb up and do the walk to Malham Tarn / Malham cove.

We have been several times and would go again. Lovely place, atmosphere brill! Nice friendly cafe and pub and shops in Malham. Well worth a visit or two!

We had a wonderful stay at Gordale Scar.

The campsite is in a beautiful location and the view from our tent was wonderful.

The campsite has plenty of hot water and an indoor area for washing up. The toilets are basic but clean. Exactly as you would expect from a campsite charging £3 per tent.

The owner was extremely friendly and helpful.

We will be going back!

 Fabulous location!

If you don't mind basic facilities and a scruffy 'amenities' block, this is a great site. The scenery is stunning and there is plenty of space to spread out.

Access to Gordale, Malham Tarn and the village of Malham are great. The walk into the village (2 great pubs) via Janet's Fosse is the recommended route which avoids the narrow and relatively steep hill but takes in some great scenery.

Our only 'grievance' was the noise created by one DOE group - talking until 1 in the morning and then up at 6 o'clock. It could have been due to the cold (plus 1C) but the place is so quiet that sounds carry.

Wow, what a fantastic place, so very beautiful and the campsite is so clean. The scenery is breathtaking and the little river running through the camp is just great. The toilets, well, pity they aren't as clean as the campsite, and the feller who runs it is quite a character, I need to be polite so you make up your own mind. We found a place where you can walk to the shops. It's a bit further down the road and you go through a little gate, then you come across this absolutely stunning place, like a magical glen of some sort. It's like a secret waterfall, and the water is great for a quick dip. Very long walk though but no real shops to speak of, but worth it just to see the scenery.

We found this site by pure chance, as we have two dogs we decided that this was the campsite for us. Found the owner very helpful would have been stuck for a cuppa if he did not collect other peoples rubbish.

Amenities are what you expect, don't change. Going again in June weather permitting. Can't wait for some peace and quiet, dogs will love it too, all the long walks and best of all they can lay in the river afterwards to cool down (great)

The water fall was great and the sheep where walking all over the place which was cool. There where plenty of rabbits running about!there where not any playground but plenty off space to play. The river was good and I spent plenty of time in the river with my sister catching fish. The toilets are not the cleanest and there was only one shower for everyone to share. There where two sinks and a fresh water tap outside the toilets. Plenty of wildlife. And a great walk to the pub.

I have been there plenty of times and I would definitely go again.

I have been camping here since I was 9 years old I love the place, its basic and well out of the way. Best time to go is out of school holidays and during the week as weekends do get a bit crowded with Duke of Edingborough. Village shop opens rarely but the old guy is nice, there are 2 pubs some might say a bit expensive on food but the beer is good as I am a north yorkshire man I have to say this place is great errr no I tell the truth and Malham and Gordale scar camp site have to be my ultimate getaway. Thanks Malcome (site owner) for years of relaxation and the chance to get away from humanity.

Fantastic location, amazing views possibly the best location in the UK.

Ruined by the dreadful state of the toilet and dish washing facilities. The gent's toilets were an absolute disgrace, I they had not been cleaned in months or painted in years. They were covered in mildew and filth. I doubt if the toilet bowls ever saw toilet cleaner or bleach! Words fail to describe how dirty the shower room was and the washing up room an insanitary midden. My son was frightened to go into the gent's and refused to wash for four days. I spoke to several other campers who were very “disappointed”.
