This was our second visit to this park.
Entertainment, pitches and pool etc are as great as always. The showers and toilets are clean and tidy.
One big disappointment was the food it was truly awful. Firstly the food was stone cold when it arrived, we sent it back and waited over 30 minutes and then 2 meals were hot and 2 cold, then we waited again for the others to be replaced! 3 attempts to get a hot meal - no apology for the dreadful service. It's not as if anything special is on the menu, it's basic burger and chips etc and the restaurant was not busy!
Great park but cook your own food!

This is an immaculately maintained and well run site but whilst all goes like clockwork and its part of the Hobourne chain, it nevertheless has a personal feel to it, especially when dealing with its friendly staff.
There are negative points. The first is that it could be signposted better. It was a dark, rainy night when we were arriving and some signs earlier in the village would have been a nice reassurance that we were on the right track. After the signpost at the roundabout, the next one is right opposite the turn into the park and this is in a dark lane. Some advance notice would have been helpful. My second criticism concerns the shower block. The shower I had was a weak trickle of water, warm in all fairness, but a trickle nonetheless and the timer settings for the push button operation was laughable, being a matter of seconds before stopping. I may well have simply had a ‘dodgy’ cubicle. The only other criticism centres on the swimming pool. On the Saturday, despite the large numbers of people in the pool, the lifeguards would intermittently close the water slide (flume) without explanation or notice of when it might reopen. Trying to explain to my 4 year old that the slide was closed, why it was closed, whether or not it might open was difficult. Sure, there may well have been staffing issues around this, but some sort of explanation would have been helpful.
These negative sides apart, we did however thoroughly enjoy our stay at Bashley. The hard standing pitch was flat and ample with a well kept pea gravel standing for the awning. The grass is immaculate everywhere and was lovely for the kids to play on. The EHU was very close to the unit. Drinking water, toilets, showers and disposal facilities were at close hand and the toilets and showers were well maintained, clean and warm. The pool and other facilities for the children were excellent and there is a well stocked shop. The restaurant served up a typical sort of pub menu at a fairly reasonable cost but I thought the bar was a little pricey.
Overall, this is a great site and I have no hesitation in saying that I will come here again and again.

Not been for a few years but little has changed. We noticed one part of a touring field has gone to statics and the rest will probably follow suit. Great location pitches ok but watch out for the HARD standings they are 'hard'.
We love this part of the world and had a great time at Bashley but I think its lost its shine and is not quite as good as it was.
No real problems here just a little tired in places and quite pricey in the main weeks.
Go out of season and its a bargain!

Just had 8 nights at this site and i must say we thought it one of the best.good size pitch, large clean shower block.entertainment was also good but i did find the late disco catered for under 25 yr olds only.excellent games rooms, but in much need of air con or even just an open window.the swimming pools were large and clean with a nice grassed area to the rear,a very large kids area next to the pitch and putt. The camp also boasted a small well kept 9 hole course.nearest town was milton about a mile away offering just about all you might need.do take heavy duty tent pegs for the shingled awning area, you can get these at the site shop for £1.00 each(.49p in milton)which also stocked some great fresh bread, all in all i have no problem recommending this site to any family one other good thing was they had rules and enforced them,

This was our first visit to this site, although we had visited Hoburne's Torquay site last year. The site is large with good amenities. It has a medium to small swimming pool which is an odd shape which becomes very claustrophobic at busy times. The two outside pools were very good, catering for toddlers up to adults well. They also had a steam room and sauna.
The entertainment was good for a family, however if you did not have kids then you would find it poor. The main club room was way too small. The restaurant and bar area was very large and had a sun terrace. The Hoburne sites make a good alternative to Haven or Park Resorts. The kids play area, mini golf, driving range, pitch and putt and golf course were all very good.
The pitches were level. Our pitch backed onto woods and was of a reasonable size. Care should be taken when booking as some pitches are a walk to the complex. The toilets were clean and the showers were user friendly and of a good design.
This was a good family site and I would return.
Whilst there we visited the Motor Museum, Paultons Theme Park, Christchurch, Bournemouth and the New Forest

Spent 4 nights here recently and had a good time. We were there to see the Airshow at Bournemouth and the campsite provided a bus there (sadly it called at all the other Hoburne sites on the way making it an hours journey in all) it was cheap though so no complaints. The Wardens were friendly although a bit inflexible with some rules. We booked last minute and ended up with the smallest pitch (non awning) our awning would have fitted easily but were told we could not put the sides and front of our wind out canopy down as it would then be an awning but it was ok to put windbreaks down to make a private area. I don't think 4 nights would have damaged the grass too much especially without a groundsheet but they were not having it as the awning areas are made of Pea Gravel. We were on a corner pitch which meant cars and groups of holidaymakers were constantly passing but that's to be expected with a last minute booking I suppose. All in all its a nice but expensive site, The evening entertainment was ok,Staff friendly (unlike the fellow campers).Toilets were immaculate and site was well organised and laid out. Pool area was nice and the place was reminiscent of continental sites. The food in the 'Hungry Woodcutter' was very tasty and seemed good value.

I cannot agree enough with some of the other comments made regarding Hoburne Bashley! I can honestly say that this has been probably the best family holiday we have had using our (rather old and tired!) Lunar Premier 515 touring caravan.
We went with our 4 children, aged 14, 10 and 3 and a half year old twins. We were very lucky with the weather but the youngest two really loved the swimming pools (we were lucky enough to be able to use the indoor and outdoor pools) and Sammy the Seahorse was a HUGE hit! The youngest two have never slept so well! It is always hard keeping such a large age range of children happy, but we all had a splendid time!
We chose a pitch at the far end of Beech Field (pitch 254) specifically so that there was minimal passing traffic. This was two fold – one for the safety of the twins on their bicycles and so that we would not have people coming from the clubhouse at night disturbing the littlest two, and it was the perfect pitch! We had enough room for the caravan, the awning with two extensions, and the gazebo, as well as the cadac and all the other paraphernalia that goes with taking 4 children on holiday!
With regards to the facilities, the toilets were clean (always!), the showers were hot, and the soap dispensers always working. The indoor swimming pool was at the perfect temperature and never too full which was surprising considering we went at the height of the school holidays!
The touring parks were spotless and even the little hedges separating the pitches were really well kept.
The shop on site (Cost Cutters) was open until 8pm at night which was really useful and sells everything you could possibly need whilst on site, and is not overpriced considering they have a captive audience. The clubhouse was the only area we felt could have been improved, but this is not a failing of Bashley – we merely felt that it could have been much bigger, as by 7.30pm it was standing room only. The bar prices were a bit high for alcohol but soft drinks were well priced.
The entertainment crew were amazing! Their enthusiasm never failed, and we felt they constantly went above and beyond to ensure all the kids had a fantastic holiday.
This is the first site we have been to that we have ALL decided that we would like to revisit as soon as possible, and are now trying to re-book for this October half term! We cannot recommend Hoburne Bashley enough – keep up the good work!

Visited this site for 2 weeks along with a 7 and 2 year old.The site and touring area is kept exceptionally clean and considering the amount of people that were using the showers and loos they were also spotless.
The touring pitches are extremely large and have hedges at each side which does give you some privacy although we got the odd person that will still just walk passed you van(stopped them by putting up wind breakers). The pitches are hard standing with gravel for your awning and the site and wardens do not like parking or causing damage to the grass, and also no ball games around the vans.
The entertainment is reasonable with the usual sammy seahorse and friends act. They do entertain the kids from 6pm-9pm with games etc which is fine with us.Although the second week got a bit repetitive the kids still enjoyed it.
Out and about is the new forest for bike rides and walking. The local village of new milton is small but has everything you will need co-op,and shops,if you venture a little further you will find a tesco 24hr and a fantastic english chippy in a small town called ashley.
All in all we had a brill time, the only problem we had was the site definitely needs a family bathroom as it was difficult to shower the toddler.Ps would recommend the fireworks display in bournemouth on friday night starts @ 10pm but there is free parking from 8pm onwards.

Just got back from 10 nights at Bashley. Two adults and two boys under 10. Very impressed - we are Hoburne fans anyway (having regularly visited Cotswold Hoburne and Hoburne Torbay). Wardens extremely friendly and helpful, working very hard to keep everything running smoothly. Toilet block clean and never had to queue even though start of children's holiday. Crazy golf a big hit with the kids as was playground and tennis courts. Indoor pool brilliant as was sauna and steam room. Outdoor pool too cold to try but paddling pool great fun for kids as we could just laze on a sunbed and watch.
Pitches large and well screened. Having to leave at 10 am is a bit of a challenge unless you pack your awning up the night before!
Entertainment by comparison with other Hoburne sites is not up to the usual high standards. Entertainment staff not very enthusiastic at times. Reception staff very helpful. Shop small but well stocked. Loads to do locally whatever the weather. Security good. More speed humps on site would help slow drivers down as kids like to cycle round campsite.
Will be back again next year.

We book this site regularly throughout the year and I would spend every holiday here if I could!
The site is immaculate, the shower blocks are the cleanest I have used anywhere. The pitches are well kept, we avoid the edges as they can be a bit damp with the trees sheltering the pitch overhead.
Everything about this site is fantastic, just a shame that they are putting more statics on the pitches. Grab a fantastic holiday with fantastic scenery while you can!
They don't charge extra for this and extra for that, you can even take up to 6 people for no additional cost. They don't take the mickey.
You wont be disappointed, but leave a pitch for me!
