 This site is lovely and peaceful, the owner Wendy and her hubby cannot do enough for you, they are fabulous people.
The home cooked food is gorgeous and plenty of it, very big portions, very reasonably priced food and beverage.
The only thing I would change is the toilet and shower block, although cleaned daily, they are old porter cabins, they are adequate.
But saying that I would return. Site is a bit out of the way, but there is a small shop down the road if needed to buy bread and milk.

Absolutely spot on 4 days
Food from Wendy was great and very good size portion for me and my wife
Lovely walks along the river fishing is available local shop 10 minutes walk
Bus in to York if you are going to have a little drink if not yous the park and ride
Really a lovely area if all you want to do is relax

Very warm welcome by Wendy. Small friendly campsite in a lovely area. Great quirky pub with amazing food. Lovely walks.

Fantastic quiet site, Wendy was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Food and drinks at the lock house were fantastic.
The river view from the tent is amazing and the kids loved watching the boats go through the lock.
Can’t fault it.

I cannot say enough about this place! The owner is very friendly and incredibly accommodating,
The site is very relaxed, clean and well kept, stunning views and great tent plots close to rivers edge.
Would always come back here! Unfortunately never had chance to try the food but by all accounts from people on site 'wendy makes amazing food!'🙂

Only stayed one night while passing through, but the site is in a great location and having the pub next door is a bonus! Excellent price compared to other sites we’ve stayed on.
Facilities are currently being updated but totally fine for campers.
A huge thanks to Wendy who was so welcoming and lovely to rent with. She went over and above in accommodating our needs, and we wish her all the best with the business in the future.

We were a large family party staying in a mixture of tents and they allocated us the whole camping field which worked brilliantly.
We had several children with us so they were safe to play without worrying about cars.
It was great.

Good food in the Lock House.

Absolutely a wonderful site with amazing views.
Wendy the owner is an amazing, funny and a good chef. Food was fantastic and we will be back.
Bus stop to York is at the top of the lane so that's great.
