Quiet pitches with seasonal caravans another field with EHU for caravans and tents and then a further non EHU field. The Marint, Lock House Inn Restaurant and Pub run by Wendy and her partner.
Nice to sit by the Lock with a drink and watch the boats go by. Pitch black on an evening, so torch required to visit the basic shower and toilet block.
Wendy and her partner have only had the site since March (before lockdown) so plenty of potential to be had. Would definitely stay again, the take out meals and Sunday lunch were very good and reasonably priced.

Toilet and shower.
Pub/cafe serving food and drinks. Great pub grub at reasonable price. Takeaway only at moment.

This is such a beautiful and idyllic spot and the camping area was well maintained, had electricity supply and drinking washing up facilities near to tent.
Communicating by email was a bit hit and miss.
The one downside was that the toilet/shower block was not cleaned thoroughly enough /often enough. This needs addressing

Fantastic fantastic fantastic what a fantastic site camped right on side of the river.
The owner even on crutches bent over backwards to make our stay awesome even to cooling the boys down with wet towels lol
The food at the pub, sat watching the boats go through the lock was unbelievable and I totally agree the cider was great
Thank you for an awesome experience fully abiding to covid 19 regs

Lovely location, very friendly staff and good pub grub
But could do with a little Tlc and upgraded shower and toilet facilities.
Good location for other attractions as well.

The toilet/shower blocks were in very poor condition. The showers were very poor and had fungus growing out of the wall tiles. The washing facilities weren’t much better. I don’t like to leave negative comments however I really do think the facilities need a compete upgrade.
The staff were very friendly and helpful upon arrival
The location of the site is good for York Harrogate and knaresborough. The site is also right on the river Ouse which is pretty. It also has some nice walks from the campsite for dogs etc.
The pub is ok but is also used by locals

Nice location, with pub and food on site. Staff were friendly upon arrival.
The camp site was tired and not how we remembered 5+ years ago.
The facilities could do with a clean and refurb.

Just spent a week by the river, in the most relaxing, peaceful place in Yorkshire.
Wendy and her staff as welcoming as ever,
Food excellent at lockhouse,
A short walk along river to stunning village of Newton on Ouse and Beningbrough estate.
