We visited bayview on the aug bank holiday. Just like to thank the lady with the hair. I don't know her name for all her hard work with keeping the toilets spotless. Every time I went to the toilets she was there, full of smiles even though the toilets were hard to keep clean considering the weather we had. It was amazing as she was in all toilet blocks and shop as well.

I would like to say a big thank you to the wardens for the last 2 years. They brought sunshine, laughter, and kept the park spotless. They will be greatly missed by all that knew them. We are all so sad to see them go. They have been gone 1 week and you can feel that all the sunshine has left bayview. I have rated the site 10 out of 10 however that was done to the wardens, great effort.

This was our first 'family' camping trip for several years. (although prior to writing this review we have had a second trip elsewhere and so we can compare with a less favourable site)
I booked over the phone and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
When we arrived we parked up and walked to reception. All the staff we met were really friendly and helpful. Reception doubled up as a nicely stocked shop too. A golf buggy ride back to the car and we were then escorted to our pitch.
Our pitch had electric hook up, water tap and we couldn't believe a tv aerial socket too! The pitch was lovely and flat with a hardstanding for us to park the car off the road. Plenty of spave between
The grounds were beautifully maintained. The staff were always out and about tidying and looking after the site. The toilet blocks (we used two, but did find another one) were immaculate. The loos were always clean. The handwash was lovely too! The showers had either a glass folding door or a curtain to stop your clothes getting damp. You could shower for as long as you wanted at no extra cost. The bin areas looked as if they were emptied regularly and you were never faced with full stinky bins.
The dishwashing area (we used the one at the bottom of the hill just across from the camping pods) was inside and clean and spacious. Also a freezer for ice blocks (free)
We did not use the cafe/restaurant, although we had a look and it did seem very well presented with a good menu selection. We just ran out of time.
Someone came round each morning and checked how we were. They actually stopped and had a chat with us.
We are with o2 and had no problem with either phone or mobile internet reception
Other visitors to the site seemed friendly and it was definitely a quiet site for families and folks wanting peace and quiet.
The only downside for us was that due to I think the wettest august in a hundred years or whatever the weather people have said, the ground did get quite water logged very quickly. The staff mentioned they had put in extra drainage, but it wasn't enough to cope with all the extreme rain we experienced. By night two we began to experience a waterbed effect under the groundsheet.
The west coast main line was between the main road and the camp site. It didn't bother me, but it could seem a little noisy at 3 in the morning with the night freight.
Unfortunately the children's play area appeared to be at the very edge of the site. Too far for comfort as parent of small child.
Would we stay again? YES! Not the cheapest site, but the staff treated us like valued customers. The service was second to none and some thought has gone into how can we make their stay better.

We recently came here for a two night stay in our motorhome. We were welcomes by a lovley lady on reception who was really chatty and helpful. To check in you have to leave your vehicle and walk to reception but then you get a lift back from a lovely guy in a golf cart.
The site itself is lovely, spacious pitches, flat easy to pitch on. We asked to be pitched near the toilet block which was accommodated. The toilets are lovely and have won awards, the only downside is nothing to put your shower bits on such as a tray etc. We mentioned this on their facebook page and they promised to rectify it.
There seems plenty on site to do for children, a little arcade and park but can't really comment as ours weren't with us. The bar and bistro on site is lovely in an old converted barn and we had a friday fish supper for two with tea for around £10. The staff in the bar however do let it down. No chat and a real lack of engaging friendliness. I think they need to work hard in this area as the bar was fairly quiet both nights and I believe a warmer welcome would help.
Apart from that, overall it was a really lovely site with enough for a couple of nights without needing to jump in the motorhome and drive off.

Just spent 3 nights at this caravan park. Arrived on Friday night. Went to reception to book in. Quite a long walk to reception. (New reception and office getting built at entrance to park)
Staff very friendly and polite. Got a lift back to motorhome in a golf buggy. We were shown to our pitch and told where everything was. Pitch had water, hook-up, TV connection and grey water drain.
Pitchs are slate chippings and well spaced out.
Toilets and showers are immaculate, no push buttons.
Shop on site which sells all the basics. You can order your daily papers from them.
Had a walk around the site the following morning everything was immaculate.
Wardens present around site at night either on foot or in golf buggy.
No sea views at bottom of site, but just a short walk to some lovely walks right on the coast.
Just out of the site entrance and to your left across the road you get to the Lancaster Canal. You can walk either way left to Carnforth where there is all the usual shops etc. To the right you can walk to Bolton-le-Sands which has a variety of shops and pubs. The tow path is gravel and level. We saw lots of different canal boats. Ourselves and our dog loved this walk very peaceful and not to busy.
Bus service to Morcombe and Lancaster just outside site entrance.
We would definitely go back.

Lovely site next to the sea. Not a sandy beach, more a marshland but still had fun jumping over the small rivers and water pools to reach the sea.
The toilet/ shower blocks were maintained to a high level and the site was of a very high standard. The shop on site was well stocked and reasonably priced.
Outdoor playground and also an indoor gamesroom for the kids.
Nice food served in the bar and the drinks were reasonably priced.

Stayed at this campsite for the bank holiday weekend with my brother in law, we are bikers so we have been to many a camp site on arrival we were directed to the tent area by the guy on the golf cart. Tent field is on a slope as we arrived on Friday we got the pick of the field right at top where it is level. If you are taking a tourer this site is first class.
1. Toilets and showers 10/10
2. Bar and restaurant 10/10
3. Shop 10/10
4. Site layout 10/10
A 15 min walk into bolton le sands there is 3 pubs we tried them all as we like a beer or two best one the royal hotel, , cup final was on very busy but still got served without a wait fish and chips two for a tenner on fridays, brill. Staff were very good also they let me charge my phone in the bar area no probs. The only problem was the weather we had ice on our tents on two nights so we went home on Sunday instead of Monday freezing. We wont go back as we never do as too much to see and do.

We have just returned from 4 nights their were two families in our party the other being a tourer. We loved the fact that there was our own water tap with the EHU.
We arrived late Friday afternoon and the park was almost full but there was loads of space between the tent pitches we were never on top of one another. The toilets and showers are spotless with another block having just opened near the bar/shop area.
Our kids took their bikes and loved the freedom the park gave them.
We had a meal in the bar and was decent if a little pricey but was presented very nice.
We would recommend the Indian restaurant in Bolton-le-Sands doesn't look much but was superb as was the Royal Hotel a pleasant 20 min walk along the coast path, great food for great price especially Monday when you can have 2 meals and bottle of house wine for £20. Bargain!
We would go back to this site only let down was the weather, but hey ho we got on with it. After horrendous rain all day on Monday the pitches were still ok only a few puddles so the ground held up really well which was a huge bonus!

This is typical of the Holgate brand, it is a beautifully kept site with immaculate shower facilities. The site is now open for 10 1/2 months of the year, it is located within easy walking distance of Bolton le Sands which is a busy village with good pubs and a really good Indian Restaurant. The Royal Hotel is the nearest pub that we found and they do quite good food and nice surroundings. Sadly the restaurant was closed until March but there was a roaring fire in the bar (also not serving till March) and the staff happily made us a cuppa, the WiFi was working. Walking is really good, the bay is easily accessible from the site. No beach as such that we could find. On the down side, the children's play area is so far away we didn't feel safe leaving them to play unaccompanied, we couldn't fathom the reasoning behind this but it is a big negative if you want to stay with children for any length of time. All in all, this is an excellent site well placed in the doorway to the lakes, it has excellent public transport links as far as Keswick and easy to reach Lancaster, with very regular buses and sited right on the A6 so easy access for the largest of vans.

We stayed at Bay View Holiday Park for 3 nights over the August Bank Holiday weekend with a group of friends and had a brilliant time.
We did have bad weather including a storm on the Saturday night but it didn't spoil our time and we would definitely go back.
Our two children loved it and spent hours playing, our 2 year old loved the cows in the field behind us and the hens that ran free around the park. There wasn't much to do on the site but that wasn't a problem for us.The children's play area is near the entrance of the park and is to far away from where we pitched our tent.
The toilet / shower facilities were so clean and not too far away from our tent.
The bar / restaurant was lovely although we didn't eat in there we had a few drinks.
The shop is small and sells the basics but with Tesco's down the road you couldn't go wrong.
We all had a walk to The Royal which is just outside the park, this pub has a play area which was great for the kids and sky sports which was great for the men (who needed their football fix) and a good bar menu.
We will definitely go back next year
