This is a lovely small site, with a small shop and well kept, very nice showers and toilets which were always clean. Very pretty with flowers everywhere.
We were greeted with friendly and helpful staff, and shown to our pitch, the pitches are a little on the small side and you are very close to your neighbours, too close in my opinion. On a Friday there is a Fish and Chip van, great when you have just pitched your tent for the weekend.
However, the short path to the beach redeems this sites space issues, just turn right and stroll along the beach to get to the mariner, pubs and restaurants.
The kids playground is a good size and provided loads of fun for the kids.
You do hear some noise from a near by road, but heavy sleepers will not be disturbed. If you are a light sleeper I recommend ear plugs or a glass of wine before bed.
We had a lovely stay, the weather was the best, not sure if I would be as happy in the pouring rain though.

Very nice site very close to a quiet beach.Which is ideal as the park on site is very small with only a few things for under 10's to play on.
We have stayed here on many occasions over the last 3 years as in-laws live just around the corner.
The site is run by a nice couple who are happy to help in any way they can.
The toilet/shower block in the main field were new last year and are always kept clean and tidy.
The toilets in the big field opposite reception could do with modernising but are perfectly ok for what we need them for.
Theres a shopping complex about 10 mins walk away which has asda and a few other large stores and I believe there's a cinema there too. Also slightly further in the opposite direct there's a nice little village with shops and a few takeaways, fish and chip's, Chinese and a burger bar. You will also find a few nice pubs which do lovely food.
Over all the site is kept clean and tidy and the boss rides around on his bike making sure everyones happy.
We will definitely be returning.

Just come back from staying at this site for 5 nights with a friend and her children. Agree with all of above, great little site. We did not even get in our cars the whole week. We cycled on the cycle route up to the harbour to asda etc and just popped over bridge to the beach when we fancied it. We were on main site near the children's play area which is a good size. Showers are in a prefab block but were very clean and showers lovely and warm. Often had to queue so started to get up much earlier than I would like to, to get a shower. There are a lot of rules on this site which I know you need to keep things nice but I just hate it when you just get set up and they pounce on you with all these rules etc. Just gets my back up. They are very strict on children on bikes, footballs and ball games. When the site less busy they seem to let this go but when full very strict. I understand the rule about footballs etc as they can hit cars etc but when site busy no where for children to play! Beware as from next year 2009 no commercial vehicles are allowed on site. Would definitely visit again but perhaps as a less busier time.

Fantastic site! Almost thought twice about reviewing it as I want to keep this gem to myself! The staff were friendly, the place was clean and small enough to feel personal, the pitches were a good size with your car parked next to your tent (always a plus). There were two shower/toilet blocks and we were near the old one, I had a shower in the older one and found it perfectly nice, BUT then I went into the new block and it was amazing! I've never seen such clean lovely cubicles with shower, toilet, basin and mirror, window and extractor fan! We were a ten minute walk to Sovereign Harbour with it's bars, restaurants and shops. You are about one minute's walk from the beach. The only constructive criticism I would have is that it would be great to have an area for kids to cycle and play football. They are not supposed to do this around the tents and the playground (although perfectly good) appealed more to the younger ones. We were surrounded by child friendly families who tended to turn a blind eye to the kids cycling and we were lucky that all the kids seemed considerate and friendly. They were all playing very well together. Can't wait to go back.

Had a lovely couple of days here. Owners extremely friendly and helpful and facilities spotlessly clean. Although the site was full, never had to queue for toilets/showers.
Pitches all flat and very generous size.
This site is in a brilliant spot - right next to the sea. A flat 15 minute walk along the sea front from the campsite brings you to sovereign marina, with a good selection of bars and places to eat. We walked there with our dog, who was welcome in the bar and if the weather is good there is loads of outside seating. Also enjoyed the par 3 golf course which is next to the site - would definitely go again.

Set in 500 acres of beautiful, rolling Kent countryside. The Oast village on site is the World's largest Oast house collection and makes for a spectacular backdrop. Grass and hardstanding pitches for caravans, tents and motorhomes with electric option. Modern toilets and showers and multiple washing up facilities.
Small shop onsite and pub/restaurant at the entrance. The River Medway flows through the site, providing idyllic waterside pitches. Make the most of the location and try your hand at canoeing or fishing or simply sit back, unwind and enjoy wildlife spotting. Wow - a mere stroll off the site takes you right onto the gorgeous beach. Body boards are a must have - when the tide is in it's brilliant to bob around in the sea virtually on your doorstep!
This fact outweighs the niggles that I have with this site. The showers in the main shower block are far better than the ones in the first field on the right. In the side block was hard to rinse shampoo out of the child's hair as you couldn't lower the shower & they weren't very powerful.
The shop has just about all you need. The staff in the shop have plenty of local information if you need some ideas or advice on where to go and how to get there.
The pitches, we felt, are small. We have an 8 man tent and we felt very close to the tent on the next pitch. We could hear their whispered rows word for word!
There is a no football, no kite flying and no gazebo rule. The football rule is flexible providing that other campers are not disturbed but can be applied if needed. There really isn't enough room for football when the site is full. The kite and gazebo rule is strictly applied for safety reasons.
Because people are crammed in, it feels very invasive when children are playing football near your pitch. We have children but don't want to spend our holiday with the tent, windbreak, car plus us being hit by balls. Of course, alot of this is down to the parents and how considerate they are towards other people. You need to find some space for your children to play any 'wide' games.
There is a quiet time policy - 11pm til 7.30am if I remember rightly.
You are given a list of rules when you arrive - as far as I can see, the rules are not on the website so you wouldn't know that you cant have your gazebo etc til you get there.
You can walk along the beach to Pevensey where there are great cafes. You can also ride along the cycle path into Pevensey. If you hang a left out of the site you can walk to the Marina which is just past the Asda. It has lovely looking bars and restaurants plus some big money yachts to envy!
The Happy Dragon in Pevensey is a more sophisticated version of an all you can eat restaurant. Instead of a buffet style, you choose what you'd like from the menu and it's cooked fresh for you and served at the table. You can stay and eat as much as you want. The food was fresh and delicious and the staff were charming.
There are plently of places to visit but if the weather's good, just go down to the beach. You can pop back to your pitch for sandwiches so you don't have to lug loads of stuff down to the beach. Don't get caught out by the sun in the cool coastal breeze.
So, pitches too small, staff could be friendlier, you're just off a busy main road (used by motorcyclists for racing in the evening), but the location makes up for it all.

Stayed at Bay View for 4 nights, staff are friendly and the pitches are huge.
The campsite is literally a stones throw away from the beach.
Although the campsite is really nice, there were not enough toilets or showers in the camping area although the toilet block was very clean and to a good standard. Only 2 showers and three toilets which you had to queue for.
The campsite is geared towards car uses and families. They were children everywhere and the nearest shops/pubs were 20 minutes or so walk. Which is great on a sunny day but not so good when its raining.
There are no bar facilities onsite. Good location to get a bus to Eastbourne and Pevensy Castle is worth a visit but the bus service is not very good on Sundays.
Pevensy Castle has lovely Tea rooms as well as a cheap friendly pub so I would recommend heading there rather than the Marina bars.
There is no recycling onsite but I would recommend this site if staying in Pevensy.

I agree with what everyone else has said - a lovely site, with excellent access to the beach, and lovely clean, modern toilets, within easy reach of the joys of the town, but still extremely quiet (we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves!)
Please make sure you don't forget your mallet! The ground is incredibly hard, and even the rock pegs they sell at the shop are impossible to get more than 3 or 4 inches into the ground. Luckily it was a calm weekend when we went, I'm not sure how tents would fair in windier weather?
Wouldn't stop us going back though :-)

Just returned from a long weekend camping with 3 kids under 5. The campsite is very well organised with instructions where to pitch and you are given plenty of room. The facilities are fantastic. Extremly clean showers and toilets, a well stocked shop and the kids play area kept the kids entertained for ages. The park is patrolled discreetly and added to the safe feel of the place.
There is a regular bus service that can take you into Pevensey where we went to the castle and had a great time. We visited 2 pubs in Pevensey both where welcoming to the kids and the food at the both was very good. Less than 10 minutes drive is a retail park with an Asda, Cinema and clothes shops so you can keep yourselves well catered for.
We will be returning as I think we might struggle to find a better site for our needs.

Spent over a week here, had booked in advance by just seeing the website and reviews, so no turning back. We were put on a pitch straight across from the kids play area solid noise all Friday night up to 10. 30 pm, then at 7. 00 sat morning the kids were back and solid noise all day. If I'd had kids perhaps I could have put up with it, but my kids have grown up and gone years since. I asked for another pitch away from this area and finished up near the gate at the entrance, I was told no where else was vacant. After Sunday the site was virtually empty so I could have gone anywhere really.
Anyway the toilet block was quite good there's 3 ensuite type cubicles with shower toilet and washbasin, 2 loos and 2 urinals, ok if its the low season but when the sites busy youve no chance. The beach is 2 minutes away, and Eastbourne just down the road is a brilliant place, all sorts going on there.
Anyway to sum up I would say to anyone contemplating going there, ask to be away from the kids play area if you want peace and quiet, be prepared to get in line for showers etc, if the sites busy. There's 2 camping fields one has older facilities and everybody goes for the newer ones.
All in all a good site
