We have just returned after 2 weeks in our tourer. A fantastic site, with first class facilities. Staff are just brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. I went into the shop to see if they sold hot drinks. The lady said no, but would put the kettle on for me & make one.
Torrential rain made some areas difficult, but the staff kept on top of the grass cutting. This made it cleaner to walk about. Reaching the fishing lakes was just a matter of avoiding a couple of small soggy areas. Fishing pegs were clean & dry even after a downpour. Fishing is excellent with the quality of the fish being first class. 100lb plus of carp could be achieved in a session.
Faults could be found as anywhere, but it would be a sad person indeed who complained about such trivial things. The shop, toilet blocks, showers, site & staff were excellent. A lot of people we spoke to were regulars. Recommendation is the best advertisement.

Second time staying at this lovely campsite just north of Oxford. This time we were in Bonnies Field/Paddock which was much more sheltered than when we'd stayed in the large field at the bottom of the site. We pitched where we wanted and despite the rain, this field seemed better drained than other parts of the site.
As before, excellent, spotlessly clean facilities with free hot showers, well equipped games room, fishing lakes, on-site shop, plus lots of animals to add interest for kids. Bit of noise from the trains/planes during the day/night.
We pre-booked our two tent pitches, 6 people and 3 cars, however plans changed and on arrival we weren’t sure exactly how many people, cars and who was staying for how long, but the wardens were very helpful and let everyone just pay for just the nights actually stayed rather than the whole three night stay.
Unfortunately the weather was pretty miserable and wet during our stay so we didn’t get a lot of cycling, fishing etc in, but managed to bbq every night. Great spot though, with easy access to Oxford, 2 pubs in walking distance and only an hour’s drive from home for us – will definitely be returning!

Well located for walking. Pubs within walking distance. Amenities very good, excellent showers and very clean. Handy shop on site and staff very helpful. Large games room.
You do get some plane noise and train noise. The field we were in had terrible drainage and after a night of rain the water just sat on the surface.
Would definitely return but make sure we were not in the same field. Can imagine when fully booked that it may be rather crowded but was fine this weekend.

I visited this site with my 2 children, it seemed like it was going to be a very wet weekend before we arrived, we came on bikes so were committed to staying in the area and on site quite a bit.
The people running the site were really accommodating and friendly, they thoughtfully chose a spot for me that allowed me to watch the children on the playground from the tent and wasn't too far from the shower block. The shop was well equipped and the showers and loos in good nick and cleaned. The kids loved a walk round the site to see the animals.
There is a close by sustrans route into Kidlington, then into Oxford, that my very keen 7 year old managed.
The games room could do with something else other than the pinball, perhaps for the younger kids when it rains other than that,
all in all we had a good time.
I would recommend it highly.

Our third time here and, despite being unlucky with the weather (again) no complaints at all.
The shop stocks a great range of stuff (including free range meat from the farm's own stock- terrific sausages and eggs sold individually at 20p each if you like!) and there are 2 pubs within easy walking distance.
Pitches are big, level and neat, no scrappy old caravans in evidence, nor commercial vehicles allowed. Wardens v helpful, proprietor seems genuinely concerned to give a good service.
We were particularly impressed with the way that map walks can be printed off on request and the games room has some good pinball machines etc if the weather is bad.
Great for fishing, nice Alpacas to view, cute ducks wandering about.
One v minor issue, the chemical loo emptying point is a fair hike from some of the lower pitches, but you can't have everything!

We have visited this site many times, it is one of our favourite sites. We did a rally here for Easter.
The only down side was the weather, but no one can be blamed for that. The new facilities are brilliant and we very close to the rally field which was great.
Spotlessly clean and plenty of them. The shop is well stocked and their home produced produce for the barbecue was lovely. If you have an interest in fishing, you will be well suited to this site, there are 2 or 3 lakes for you to use.
Many a morning you wake up to the local chickens asking for breakfast.
All in all a brilliant site with lovely owners and staff, keep up the good work, we will be back next year.

We have just returned from a four day break, this campsite is Excellent!, we were warmly welcomed and a nice man on a bike showed us to our pitch, He gave us some useful information regarding the site and on how to get to the local pubs.
The shower/toilet blocks were immaculate! and the shower rooms were huge with abundant hot water. It didn't matter what time you went to them you always got a shower and never had to wait. Even when the site got busy for the Easter period.
The shop covered all the essentials and much more.
You can see pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, hens, llamas, horses, and ducks. It was a pleasant sight to see. A great place to get away from it all and chill.
I think it would be handy if there was a change machine in the games room and would encourage more to play.
The only bugbear is that some people need to learn caravan etiquette, some insist on walking as a cut through right passed your windows where you are sitting. This is no reflection on this lovely camp site.
Bicester, Abingdon and Oxford are within a 8 - 14 miles radius. There is a very good chinese in Bicester called Yin Hong 'eat as much as you like' for around £14.95. The lady was so nice, she even gave us a free round of drinks.
This site is excellent, friendly, well maintained, and immaculate, and we will be booking again very soon.
Highly recommended!

Arrived at the site a little early but this wasn't a problem. Was shown to our pitch by a friendly bloke on his bike! Pitch size was good with room for our large tent and car and was also level. Access to the farm was good and tracks around the pitches were fine.
The toilets and showers were immaculate with plenty of hot water at all taps including the wash up. (Heated wash rooms as well!)
Free fishing on 3 ponds, a playground and football/games area and an indoor games room with pool tables, keggy, table tennis and some video games.
On site shop and major supermarket a couple of miles away (Kidlington).
There are a couple of pubs within walking distance (10 mins stroll), personally I preferred the one in the village (top of the drive and turn right), take a torch if its dark as you have to walk on the road though.
Some earlier comments mention noise but I didn't find any rail/road/air noise intrusive. The railway and A34 are a couple of fields away and not buzzing past your pitch and the road to the village is hardly the M1!Didn't have problems with wandering chickens either.
The only moan I have is that the field we were on was very muddy after 3 days of heavy rain and a bit exposed. However, the owners can't do anything about the weather and when the grass and hedges are more established I'm sure this will not be a future problem.
Overall a great site for families with excellent amenities.

Just returned from Easter Bank Holiday and were impressed. We were a party of 2 vans with awnings and they let us pitch awning to awning which was great for keeping an eye on the kids. The play area was adequate from smaller kids and the games room looked good for the teens( our kids are up to 6 so didn't use it). The shop was basic but did stock fresh meat products from the farm. Toilets and showers were spotless with plenty of hot water. The only things that lets it down were the lack of road lighting at night (take a torch) and the security gate which is halfway up the gravel slope making it difficult to start off if your not in a 4x4. Planes and trains arent too noisy. Would go again

Well, after reading other reviews I must admit to being a bit concerned about 'roaming chickens'. As the site looked so nice I emailed the owners and was very pleased to hear that they are now no longer free roaming. Hearing this was plenty of incentive to book straight away. I went on to email the owners on several occasions, making various changes and additions to our booking all of which were met with courteous agreement which was very re-assuring.
On arrival we were met with friendly staff who directed us to our pitch and told us about the site. As it was the first week in April, just before Easter, the site was virtually empty other than a smattering of caravans - it was really filling up though (again with caravans) by the time we left.
Toilets and showers were very clean and tidy with plenty of hot water (a tad too hot at times!) and plenty of them which is always welcome although the site was pretty empty. My only criticism would be in the disabled toilet which had a perching stool instead of a shower stool which I felt a bit un-hygienic. There was a bit of noise from a nearby railway but it wasn't really a major bother - bit irritating in the night though.
The lambs were certainly noisier but as it's a farm it was a welcome intrusion. The play park and games field were great and the dog field ran along one side of the site so made for a good run. We did try the river walk but were very disappointed with this - one way led almost directly into un-passable woodland/marshy reed beds and the other way quickly culminated in the cow field. Probably would have been better to drive a bit further along the river before starting the walk. Would we visit this site again? I'm not sure - maybe I think is the answer.
