 Won't be back - Rude and unfriendly
Arrived Fri 25th Oct. 18 mins early -hoping to wait outside until 1pm. Told 50 vans were due in and we had to leave and come back. No one else was on the vast reception area.
Major road works on the roundabout just outside the site and the A40 was very busy with approaching fast moving traffic,
Told to come back at 13. 00. Said there's plenty of laybys outside to wait. Couldn't find anything not occupied so just had to drive around in the traffic until with good timing we got back dead on 1pm
At that time when we did there were already 2 caravans, 2 motor homes and a trailer tent parking up on the side of the site we were looking to pitch. Suggest they had been let in at least 10mins early as the process although fast and done on the gate with check in later would take at least 2/3 mins a unit. So bloody mindedness by the blond site warden who rushed out to tell us we couldn't stay on the vast parking area for 8 mins. Excuse being when I requested to wait was for us to imagine if they all came in together, they'd queue out to the rd blocking the bus stop and the wedding venue next door. Absolute nonsense, vans didn't all arrive at once and even if a few did there would be room as the entrance area is vast and in 8 mins they'd let them all in. Speaking to another couple on site they were turned out onto the road on Saturday at 12. 55 by the same warden. Said she was very rude. 5 mins early!
Think this is the club today, rather push rules than look for solutions. Pity as the other Brecon site at Aberbran have a totally different approach and are massively helpful even ringing us back when it's safe to come in. Pity it's shut for the season.
Road noise on site was terrible. Constant and on the weekend even more so with high reving motorbikes.
Nicely laid out site with fabulous shower blocks if you use them but we don't so paying for facilities we don't need. Hence won't be back. Suggest the club vet their staff better and train them in customer care.

Really nice site that is very well looked after with some really helpful and friendly staff.
We had pitch 129 which is very large and close to water, waste water and chemical disposal point.
Facilities are well looked after and always clean.
The site is next to a main road and there is a little road noise in the day time, nothing to intrusive though. There is also a wedding venue next door to the site which had a wedding on while we were there music went on until midnight so not to bad, never kept me awake but the wife heard it.
There is a nice walk along the canal in to Brecon or toward Pencelli and Brecon is a pleasant town.
Plenty of good walks and places to see not far away, including Builth Wells, Merthyr, the Brecon Mountain Railway, the four waterfalls walk or if your feeling energetic then the hike up Pen Y Fan.

We love this site and were very happy that we managed to sneak a night here during our last trip to Wales.
Really friendly, efficient wardens on arrival.
We knew where we wanted to pitch so breezed through.
Lovely large hardstanding pitches with EHU. Water and elsan disposal close by. 2 toilet/shower blocks both spotlessly clean.
A bit of road noise during the day but it didn't bother us.
Lovely walk along the canal (once you've crossed the main road) into Brecon. Plenty of things to see and do and choices of places to eat.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay again will keep coming back!

A very nice site with easy access off the A470. Pitches are well spaced out and you have a choice of grass, hardstanding and service pitches.
Two large facilities block which were kept very clean and water and waste points dotted around the site. There are two recycling areas near to the Reception and one of the facilities blocks.
Easy flat walk along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal to Brecon which took us about 25 minutes. Access to the canal towpath is on the other side of the roundabout so ask reception for details if you are not sure.
Brecon is a small but pleasant town well worth a visit though for its cafés, pubs and restaurants' and the scenery on the walk.
Yes there is some road noise as others have stated but it is not intrusive and did not bother us. We really liked this site and will definitely visit again.

Had 2 nights here last week, with stunning weather!
Arrived about 5 minutes before the 1pm check in time but it wasn't a problem. Friendly and quick check in. Chose our lovely shady pitch and advised wardens pitch number for the barrier key.
Then spent 2 glorious hot and sunny days walking along the beautiful Mon & Brec canal (both ways). Easy walk to Brynich Lock and aqueduct and prettier walk into Brecon. Lovely town, with every shop, etc. , you would need. Good Wetherspoons (love their coffee!) in the centre of Brecon. More walks along the River Usk and castle too.
There is some road noise on site but it didn't bother us at all. Spotlessly clean facilities (2 blocks) and well kept grounds and pitches. The only thing we missed was the on site shop.
Could've done with a few essentials, milk, etc. , as it's a long way to carry it back from Brecon, but it's not the end of the world as next time we'll make sure we are fully stocked!
Expensive compared to other sites too, which is why we didn't rate it 10/10.

Great site with wonderful views. Good dog walk on site.
The Three Horseshoes Pub is a must visit a short walk from the site, the food is great, booking needed at busy times.
Facilities on site immaculate and the wardens were helpful and friendly.
Walk along the canal into Brecon or the other direction a scenic walk along to where the river and canal cross.
Shame the on site shop is not operational as there are not any shops very close to the site.

The site is located very near to a dual carriageway so road noise is to be expected but wasn’t too intrusive.
The site has two toilet blocks meaning no need to rush before cleaning time - the facilities were always clean.
The walk into Brecon along the canal is easy enough and the town itself is a decent size to walk around.

Was put off staying at this site because of remarks regarding road noise. There are pitches that are further away from the roads so that the noise is minimised.
All as expected from C&M sites efficient pleasant staff and clean facilities. Good for walking into Brecon, about 2 miles and also along the canal path to Pencilli, about 4 miles along the tow path or 3. 5 if you use a B road for parts of the way.
The local pub, Three Horse Shoes, about three quarters of a mile is an absolute find with great food.
The walk is along a track and a quiet country lane.
The dog walk is also excellent.

Right on Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal towpath into Brecon one way, or right through Llangynidr, Crickhowell and on to Monmouth - just along the woodland walk out of site and over a roundabout.
Also good local walks with woods and streams off the site's dog walk, plus to 3 Horseshoes pub and on up from Groesffordd to Cefn Brynich.
Really well kept site with some of the best facilities and kept very clean, lovely showers.
Walked into Brecon after arriving for lunch on Mon, then also on Wed when we walked on along Usk and up to Ffynon Maendu, the Cathedral and a good look around town.
Did a 19 mile cycle east along towpath to Llangynidr and back, with pub stop (3 to choose from). Had a alook around Llangorse Lake and the Crannog on way home.

Dedicated wardens always willing and happy to share their enthusiasm for a very special site
Very spacious lay out
Great position for walking into Brecon or touring the Beacons - the walk into Brecon along the canal is special
The facilities are second to none- it appears that users respond to the quality and care — and respect other users in a way you rarely experience
