We really liked this site. Friendly welcome on arrival, well organised at reception and taken to our pitch. The site is very level and well kept, grass mowed, rubbish bins emptied regularly etc. The pitch we were given was huge room for our Hartford with canopy, car and trailer with loads of room to spare. The site was full most of the time we were there but did not appear over crowded. Showers, toilets, wash-up and laundry all spotless. I liked the individual washbasin cubicles, somewhere to have a quick wash if you don't want a shower. Good well stocked shop in the reception area, with plenty of information about things to do etc. In one of the wash ups there is a microwave oven, freezer and a place to charge batteries. There is a restaurant and play-barn on site. We ate there one night and found the food very good. Didn't use the play-barn as our bouncing days are well and truly over. There is a big area for ball games etc and a children play area with climbing equipment. As well as a extensive dog walk. All these are very well done. The walk into Brecon along the canal is lovely But you do have to cross two very busy roads to get on to the towpath. Another very nice restaurant at the end of the canal, in the Theatre. There is also a pub a short walk away but we did not use it this time. Plenty of beautiful scenery, walking, cycling etc. We will certainly visit this site again in the near future.

This is a beautiful site! The pitches were good - on level ground and spacious with fantastic views. Facilities of high standard. Shower cubicles were spotless with plenty of free hot water. Toilets and hand basins were clean and well maintained as were the areas for dish and clothes washing. It was great to find a fridge, freezer and microwave available to use and again this was free. The shop was reasonably priced and the staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant setting is lovely. A bit pricey maybe but food was of good quality and the vegetables fresh! Overall we were well impressed with this site and look forward to our next visit there.

Lovely site, fantastic facilities and splendid location. This site is level, spacious and well-maintained. There are some pitches on hard standings of gravel and some pitches for motor homes that are on grass that has been reinforced. Clear pathways make a pleasant evening walk around the site. The 2 amenity blocks are spotlessly cleaned and there is also a well-stocked shop on site. We had one sunny day amidst much rain and were able to enjoy a walk to the friendly local pub. There is a huge play ground for a game of cricket or football and a boules pitch. There are good play facilities for children too. On site is a lovely restaurant with stylish and well presented food. As it was raining the next day we took the bus into Brecon. The site can supply a timetable and buses come into the entrance of the site every 2 hours in the morning and afternoon. Some of our group walked along the canal to Brecon which took them about 45 minutes, our bus ride took 5. This was a small but interesting town to visit with a small cathedral and, if you need it, a Morrisons supermarket.

What a lovely friendly well organised site. The ground is very level, and although we visited after a prolonged period of rain the ground was still in good condition, if a little spongy. The facilities here are immaculate, and the launderette is very reasonably priced. The shop is very well stocked. The local pub which is 10 minutes walk away is well worth a visit. The landlord are very friendly and the food is great. Brecon is just a twenty minute walk or 5 mile drive away. This is definitely a site worth visiting.

A terrific site. The two shower blocks were cleaned daily. Showers were free. The pitches were all flat and were well proportioned. The restaurant on site was loveley. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The beer was a tad expensive. There were play areas for the children and a field for them to fly kites, play football, etc. There does seem to be a mowing fixation and I was not too happy to be awoken at 9.20 by a mower coming past - I do like to sleep in occasionally!

Excellent site, beautifully kept. Visited their Barn Restaurant - for the £10 early bird two course [starter & main] Not keen on starters so chose the melon - which turned out to be a 3 fresh fruits - which I saved for a "pudding"! The waiter was a bit concerned that there was something wrong, but when reassured, thought it was a good idea.
I thought the site was worth the extra, and for a donation to the Air Ambulance you could stay on past their vacating time. Very helpful & friendly staff - especially appreciated when the weather's getting you down!
The walk to the pub and the one along the canal took the time as stated [not timed by an Olympic walker!]. Pitches very generous.
Highly recommended.

We stayed here for a weekend in June. I was part of a 3 caravan Group of 3 married couples and 5 toddlers between us, we were a bit miffed to be asked to pay a £25 bond ! As I thought my hell raising party days were behind me, and all we wanted was a quite family weekend away. Anyway £25 lighter (it was refunded because we were not naughty ) the site is spotless with a nice play area. We were lucky to be in a perimeter pitch. There is a gorgeous dog walk along side a stream with an adventure play ground too. The restaurant looks nice and the kids really enjoyed the play-barn there is a nice pub a 10 min walk through the dog walk area. All in all a very nice site, if not a little on the pricey side. Meticulously looked after with very clean showers and toilets. We would definitely go back

We stayed here the over the wet weekend of the 20th July, the pitches were fine but only a little damp despite the heavy rain. The shower block and facilities are excellent, the owners helpful with a good well-stocked, reasonably priced shop (it would have been nice to have some local beer on sale, though). There is a large playing field away from the tents and vans.
It is in an ideal location just outside of Brecon with nice views around. We tried The Barn at Brynich restaurant just outside the site, was pretty good.
One thing to remember is that if you are in a group, you will be charged a £25 per person "good behaviour bond", to be returned if you have had no complaints against you, which would keep some of the noisier elements away.
Would definitely visit again, hopefully with better weather, and slightly off season.

I live less than an hour away from this site but we have already visited twice this year, it has recently one some great awards and I can see why, the shop is excellent and stays open basically until the punters stop opening the door and has been open on weekends until past nine o clock, bearing in mind they sell chilled beer, wine and cider that is a welcome change. We have stayed on the tent field which is small but perfectly formed with picnic benches and trees down the middle for all to use. We use an electric hook up so the set up is a little strange with an extension lead thrown over a large hedge to plug us into the electric on the caravan field next door but the site are helpful and will assist at the drop of a hat so it makes no difference to us where we plug into. The toilets are heated and immaculate, no charge for the showers (hooray) and they are cleaned religiously. The park has a play area for kids and a massive field for ball games etc. We always take our four legged friends with us and they are welcome with a dog walk provided around the perimeter of the park which is secluded enough to let my two off the lead. There is a rather nice 17th century barn pub within the site that we had a beer or two sat outside (cant verify what the food is like as it isn't dog friendly so haven't eaten there) and a very large indoor play-barn for the kids, sort of like a Brewster's fun-factory only much bigger which I can imagine will please many parents (next to the pub so great excuse to have a glass of wine while the kids play for a couple of hours). Pitches are of average size and are very level. Not a long walk to the loo in the nights and no trouble there with large crowds as the owners keep a regular check on things as the night progresses. It is about a 40 minute walk along the canal into Brecon town centre so even that is a pleasant picturesque stroll. Negatives? If I had to be picky I would say it is a little expensive but then again you get what you pay for!

Just had a great weekend at this beautiful site - even though it rained for most of our stay! Toilets and showers immaculate, no muddy floors or shower trays even though it was pouring down outside! Dog walk was excellent as dogs were allowed off-lead. Children's play area was safe, and gates locked at night which gave a good indicator to parents that children should think about going to bed. We were pitched beside the play area but not disturbed once by children screaming or shouting late at night. My partners 11yr old loved the assult course beside the river, and when the rain really closed in we went to the play barn on site which was well maintained and even had a magnetic door so children couldn't leave without their parent/guardian. Due to the weather we visited the Armed Forces museum in Brecon on the Saturday, which has a great Zulu display room. Pitch was flat with lovely views of Pen-Y-Fan, a wonderful location for walkers. There is a supermarket in Brecon for supplies, but the shop on site is VERY reasonable, and stocks food & drink in addition to tent pegs and chairs! I liked the 'group pitching' area, and the large field for children to play football etc in, which was away from the tents and caravans. We were able to use our boules in a purpose built sand pit. We will certainly be returning to this site, hopefully in better weather to sit out and enjoy the views!
