I understand that this site has recently been bought from private owners and that improvement works are on-going. The site is easily reached just outside Brecon town on the A470.
The reception area has obviously just been completed and included a well-stocked shop. Pitches were spacious with small trees which provide some shade on this open site. We had a grass pitch although some hard standings were available.
The toilet block we used (there are two) was clean, tidy and spacious but in need of an update to match the reception area. However, there was plenty of hot water and, although the site seemed almost full, we didn't have to wait for a shower.
The Montgomery and Brecon canal runs near the site and there is a lovely towpath work into Brecon. It is reached by crossing a couple of major roads so care is needed. The River Usk is also nearby.

Just returned from weekend camping trip to what used to be one of my favourite sites. Weather was glorious, the views breathtaking and the area great but the tent field was 3/4 empty and lifeless. In the wash up room the fridge was gone, the freezer was gone and no ehu. All the nice little things that help you to enjoy your camping were missing. What a shame this site only now caters for caravans and not tents.

Just returned from a long weekend at this site and can say that it is as immaculate as usual ! Very helpful staff, sorted out my wrongly booked (computer glitch ) break by shuffling things about to fit to fit us in.
Clean service blocks, well cut grass and a well stocked on site shop that negates the need to carry food and drink with you on your travels all combine to make this site the best I've stayed on.
Dogs are allowed and there were quite a few but all well behaved with responsible owners ensuring there were no 'accidents' left behind.
Some traffic noise noticeable but not enough to be intrusive. Have no fears about booking here as I'm sure you will be pleased with it as there is something for everyone.
I'll be returning here for sure !

We made a late booking to this site, only a couple of days before the start of the school and still had holidays a choice of lovely pitches.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The shop sells the usual necessaries and also small camping equipment and caravan fuses etc.
It is a spotless site and the showers and loos are immaculately clean, they need a little updating or sprucing up, mainly the painting flaking a little due to the damp weather as last year it was fine.
There is a dog walk and a wooden play area for the kids and a large grassed field(no dogs allowed) and is ideal for a game of footy or tennis.
The site is so easy to find and is just a turning off the main A road. Brecon is just a mile or so away and there are plenty of shops and things to do.
It is such a tranquil and relaxing site with beautiful views of the beacons

Just returned from 2 nights here with my campervan.
Looked very neat considering all the rain.
Was quickly sited on hard standing pitch easy access to electric and water, I had to hunt the bins down only found one disguised in a gazebo.
Helpful staff and close to Brecon.
Toilet block and showers need updating, no room at a sink to put anything. Hair dryer was a hand dryer mounted up high, not much use to style hair or direct air.
Dog walk was well cut but extremely muddy and slippery, I know the weather has been awful.
Worst thing for me was the sound of traffic so bad I kept the radio on or had to watch DVD's to blank out the sound. I could even here the cars whilst having a shower.
Also found children riding bikes unsupervised a menace they did not keep to the one way system, more their parents fault than the sites.

We have just had a 4 night stay at brynich and we have to say the facilities are excellent, shop had everything that you need & the prices weren't bad,
Couldn't fault the wardens & staff friendly & helpful,
Would go again for a longer stay
The only down side was the road noise, it wasn't major.
The three horse shoes pub is a must, again great value for money
Plenty to do within a short distance, including a trip to talgarth mill 8 miles away or national show caves 20 miles and the rourkes drift museum in brecon itself, which is only a 25 min walk along the canal

Have just spent a week there just before the school holidays started as we wanted a bit of R & R and I promised the other half we would walk Pen-Y-Fan Circuit
The site is in a central location for all the walks! Its 1 1/2 miles to the town centre, which is 5-10 mins by car or a 20-25 min stroll along the Canal Path and there is all you need there, Supermarket (Morrison’s) Banks, Fish & Chip shop, Pubs & Outdoor shops. Etc.
The site itself is well laid out, there are 3 defined areas. One for tents, one for Full Service Pitches and one for a mix of Hardstanding /Grass and a further 10 Service pitches, there are only 16 hardstandings and they are on a first come first served basis and as we arrived late Friday we opted for a serviced pitch Plus it had been raining in the UK for the past 6 weeks! And really didn’t fancy a grass pitch with a dog! I'm glad we did as the site was almost full when we arrived.
The pitches are a good size and well kept. Some pitches have great views of the mountains too! There is a small kid’s play area & good dog walk I would point out and it has also been mentioned on previous posts, there is some road noise as the site is in between two A roads (A40 & A438) but it didn’t bother us in the slightest.
There is a well stocked shop which has all the Camping/Caravan kit that you could wish for or have left at home! An Information Cabin with all the information you could possibly need about the local area, services and attractions.
There are two Shower/Toilet Blocks, a little dated but clean, tidy and plenty of hot water & loo roll! They are due to be refurbished at the end of this season, I’d read about that in the guest comments book in the information cabin, plus I'd also read elsewhere that site has been taken over by the CC, so understand it’s not quite up to the regular CC site standard yet, but in all still a good standard.
The wardens are really friendly & helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
My only gripe, there isn’t enough bins/recycling points.
Would recommend this site and will be back for another stay soon

One of the best sites we have ever stayed on, everything you would expect from a Caravan Club site. Because of the wet weather some pitches were 'Out of use' to give them time to recover, so we were confined to the bottom end near to the A40 roundabout which can be a bit noisy at peak times, but only noticeable due to the tranquillity of the area. Fresh water and disposable points are convenient and discreetly placed. The toilet and shower blocks were scrupulously clean and tidy, as was the whole site. The wardens could not have been more caring they even 'popped by' to make sure that we were all right and knew where everything was. The on site shop has to be seen to be believed more like a mini supermarket which seems to stock everything. Lovely canal side walk in to Brecon, or the other direction for a pub lunch.
Can't wait to return to explore more of this wonderful park.

Ended up at this site due to last minute plan changes caused by the weather. We were given the site's phone number and rang up asking if they had room for 7 young(ish) men and 3 tents. The lady on the phone was very helpful and told us there would be no problem.
I was really surprised when we turned up to find that this was a Caravan Club site (I didn't know that they took tents).
A separate field for tents. We didn't need hook up, but wondered whether that would be unavailable for tents as there seemed to be no supply posts in the field. The pitches appeared to be marked out and a little small in my opinion. For the tents that we had, they were adequate. But bigger family tents and a car would simply be unable to fit, possibly resulting in having to have 2 pitches?
The facilities are excellent. The shop is well stocked, the shower block is clean and the grounds appear well-maintained. The recreation area should keep all the ball games away from anyone's unit. A small play area is available for smaller children.
We were given directions up to The Three Horseshoes. The food was good, the alcohol flowed (I now have a new favourite cider - Fiery Fox!), they accommodated our request to watch the Euro football with ease and we were made to feel very welcome.
Very pleased with our 1 night stay

Brynich caravan club site is located next to two busy roads, yet I noticed no noise. They offer serviced pitches, hard standings and grass as well as another field for tents only. The pitches are a good size and well defined.
They offer a small shop which is well stocked, a good information centre, a small children's play area and a short dog exercise area.
The toilet blocks are nice. Always plenty of hot water, spotless and several cubicles.
Brecon is a 20 minute walk along the canal which is nice. With the exception of about 6 steps it is wheel chair and buggy friendly. It is also the start of the Taff trail which is 55 miles to Cardiff.
Highly recommended is the three horseshoes which is about a 20 minute walk and the old ford inn which is on the A40 about £6 taxi ride (5 mins by car).
I would recommend this site, and a visit to Brecon.
