We only stayed for the weekend on this occasion and were sorry when our weekend ended. The pitches at Brynich were of a generous size and washing and laundry facilities spotlessly clean as were the showers. Didn't visit the Barn Restaurant on this visit but heard very good reports of the food. The reception doubles as a shop selling essentials as well as news papers which is very useful. If you like walking, as we do, you will be spoilt for choice. Our favourite being alongside the canal. If there is a down side to staying at Brynich I would say it is the close proximity to the road but even so after a little while on site you don't even notice that. Look forward to returning soon.

Absolutely faultless site! Highly recommend for families with or without children. Location is excellent - nice and flat with wonderful views of the mountains to the left. Children can play in the dedicated play area (which is wisely locked at dusk - prevents the noise at night!) or walk down the little path to the adventure play area near the stream on site. There is also a large recreation field for those who want to play cricket or football. The shop is well stocked, toilets/shower block exceptionally clean and the icing on the cake is the wonderful 17th century barn restaurant located just behind main reception - all in all an absolute must for the tourer guro! This site is just wonderful - a short stroll to a local pub,or the main town quickly by car, just what a relaxing break is all about. I will definitely be back!

Excellent site - highly recommend it to all young and old. Staff are very friendly and site is meticulously looked after. I was pitched right next to the park and I couldn't of asked for a better spot - my daughter could come and go very easy to the park and still within my eye's distance. 8.00pm the park was closed which was great too - no fuss, kids went to bed to allow adults to enjoy some chilling time outside. I will definitely be returning to the site on a regular basis!

Anybody visiting this site will not be disappointed. The staff are friendly, the toilets & showers are superbly clean and the pitches are kept fantastic. They take great care in looking after this site which is very obvious on arrival. There were a few of us in families that went away for the weekend to this site. We all had small children so they pitched us all right next to the park. We couldn't have asked for better pitches. The children could go back and for to the park as often as they liked. The park was closed at 8.00pm which was great - no noise from older children hanging around till all hours. The campsite was also very strict on noise after a certain time which meant we could all get good night sleeps (apart from the occasional snoring coming from a caravan!) If you are interested in visiting in Brecon I would highly recommend this site! I will definitely returning back on a regular basis!

We spent a few nights at this site ,whilst the Hay festival was on. This is a great site and will visit again but beware of the problem we had if you have a large tent. When booking, I asked for a large pitch because we had a large 3 bedroom dome tent but when we arrived we were squashed onto an end pitch (57a) which left only room for the tent and nothing else. We we also had to pitch close to the small road / path which ran through the site and was constantly disturbed by children on bikes / scooters / roller skates at all hours of the day. On two occasions a child became unbalanced and fell into the guy ropes and tent but this isn't the fault of the site owners. We were also placed near the play park as we had 3 children with us but this is something we will not opt for next time. Despite these problems we will return to the site as it was clean and well laid out, the showers we immaculate and we never had to queue even though the site was pretty full. The staff were really friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. The shop was very reasonable and although we only had a drink in the attached restaurant we didn't eat there as well. This is because we have visited before and found it to be too expensive for the quality of food they were providing. The surrounding area are wonderful and we will be visiting this camp again for longer and with a better pitch.

Great camp site, clean tidy and with a great dog walk. Warden came around at night telling anyone off for making too much noise which is great when you have kids. Great shop and the play barn is great too, but adults not allowed on! Staff very friendly and helpful. My mother in law keeps her caravan on here all year.

Stayed at this site after reading previous good reviews. We selected the site for it close proximity to the Taff Trail so we could access the many mountain bike routes around Brecon. A slightly more “up market” camp site than we usually stay at but great value for money. The pitches are well marked out and of generous size, plenty of space for our VW T4 and awning. Although quite open the few trees gave some degree of privacy. The ablutions and washing / laundry facilities were well appointed and spotlessly clean. The shower cubical ample in size and the showers actually free! This is a well thought out site with a few sensible rules for those staying and well defined areas for both animals and children, with duty wardens living on site. There is a shop with decent opening hours, doubling as the reception area; this carries most essentials including your daily papers. The adjacent Barn Restaurant is well worth a visit but pack something smarter as the good food deserves it. As we were using the site as a base for mountain biking in the region the bike wash was a pleasant and well used surprise. A site with many awards for friendliness and greenness, it could benefit from more recycling facilities. Do not be put of by the proximity to the A470, clever use of planting abates the road noise, although nothing can be done to silence the occasion RAF fly past. We shall be returning to this site in the future as there are many more trails to ride.

A lovely site in a great position with views across the Brecon Beacons. Of course it helped that the weather was fantastic! On booking we were asked the age of our children and as the youngest is 5 they recommended a pitch near the play area - this worked well as we could sit out in the evening with a glass of wine watching him play safely. The pitch size was good and well tended - manicured grass! The facilities were great - plenty of showers and washrooms so we never had to queue. Only gripe about these was the water pressure was low (too used to my power shower) and the advertised hairdryer was a hand dryer. The washing up room had enough sinks, a large fridge and separate freezer, microwave and ironing board (not used by me!) Shop had a good range but at the expensive end - nearest supermarket is Morrisons in Brecon. The restaurant is quite pricey but the food was good - particularly impressed that the children's menu was not just the usual burger and chips but "normal" food like spaghetti bolognese. We didn't use the playbarn as the weather was so good but would have been useful on a rainy day. We spent a few hours travelling around - Dan yr Ogof Caves are about an hour away and fascinated the children, Rather corny dinasour park but the 5 year old was very impressed. Other areas worth a visit are the dams at Elan Valley and the Red Kite centre - both North of Brecon near Rhayader. We would recommend the site - staff extremely helpful and facilities good. Didn't find the "rules" restrictive but added to the enjoyment. We will return to this site again

We stayed here for 5 nights and is a very clean well kept site with clean and warm toilet blocks The only complaint we had about the site was that the pitches did not seem very big and you seem to be very close to the next caravan Other than this a very good site

We were pitched in the caravan field right next to the playground. This was not a problem, the wardens rigidly enforce the playground closure at 8pm. The pitch was a great size for our family tent - plenty of room around the tent, and between our pitch and our neighbours'. Lots to explore around the site, we had beautiful weather and didn't leave the site by car at all. The canal is beautiful, though we had to cross an extremely busy road (with a 6, 5 and 2 year old) to get there which was scary. The facilities were good, clean and accessible. Our children loved this site, though it is quite artificial (or well-manicured). Perfect weather meant that we didn't need to use the play-barn (thankfully, as it was pricey). On the whole, this site was fantastic value offering clean and modern facilities - a family site. I am sure the family will be going again for a short break.
