We loved it so much when we went for the 3 nights at the beginning of August that we went back for a week! Again we had a fantastic time.
It was very busy due to being the last week of the school hols and my partner did notice that the mens toilets were a bit disgusting at one point but we put it down to the amount of seemingly bored kids roaming round the site.
We visited the kids adventure playground which we were slightly dissapointed with as we expected it to be bigger and at least a bit more fun and adventure-some (is that a word?) than it was. Our 3 kids aged 2, 5 and 7 soon got bored with it as there wasnt much to do for them. We have seen better adventure playgrounds.
The staff were very nice and friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. There was a party of people on a joint hen and stag weekend - on the pitch next to us - but there was no noise trouble at all.
On the whole it's a great place to visit and we'll surely go back again. :0)

What a fab campsite! Spent 3 nights on site and found it immaculate. The ample sized pitches were flat with low cut grass. Wonderful views of the beacons. A large recreation area for the kids, with a park and within a short wooded walk an adventure playground with a stream for paddling running alongside. The toilet blocks were always immaculate, with plenty of loo roll, and free, heat adjustable showers, which were always hot. The shop was stocked full (although the bread I bought was not that fresh). The owners supplied a large fridge and freezer for the use of tent owners, which was a great help with the ice packs, along with a microwave, again all free! Very quiet at night and kids were not allowed to ride bikes after 7pm. We did not use the restraunt but our 8 yr old loved the indoor play area. There is a tow path running alongside a canal which makes an ideal cycle ride into brecon. We shall definitely return for a much longer stay as soon as possible.

This site is all that is described in their information page. Pitches were individuallly marked and very generous in size. There was a large dedicated tent field. Facilities clean and in good condition. Good dog walk and children's play area. Excellent shop. A Pub was within 10 minutes walk.
Restaurant was good and reasonably priced - don't get caught out by no children after 8pm rule!! Some noise from low flying fighter aircraft and we were aware of the A40 close by - but it wasn't a problem.
We stayed the week before Bank Holiday weekend and there was lots of space. A good base for the Brecon Beacons and well worth your consideration. £17 for 2 adults and a dog in a motorhome with electric - not cheap but worth that little bit extra.

August 2005 We had a great time at Brynich. The toilets, shower block and washing up / laundry facilities are basic but clean. A bit smelly in the mornings but we supsect that is a drainage/sewerage problem, rather than than lack of cleanliness. Our children loved the recreational ground as they could run about and have fun. The staff were friendly and very helpful - we even stayed an extra night! The only downside we felt that the pitches were very close together and we felt a bit hemmed in by a couple of larger tents that arrived the day before we left. Stunning scenery and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather which added to a great first camping trip for us as a family. We plan to go back again :0)

August 2005 The site is lovely with fantastic views of the surrounding Welsh countryside. The site has a well equipped shop and there are 3 play areas for the kids. The pitch we were on seemed a bit small but maybe that was because our tent is so big.
Would we go back again? No! There are too many rules for my liking (no roller skates, skateboards, roller blades to name but a few) and after reading other posts about the owner I would have to agree that his people skills are definitely lacking. I saw him move a couple from one pitch to another in the pouring rain once they had started pitching even though one of his staff had told them to pitch where they were. We helped them move pitch and put up their tent but couldn't believe he had moved them (to save the grass as someone had just vacated but he put them on another pitch that had also just been vacated).
To sum up the area is great with some breath taking scenery, the site is also very nice but the week was slightly spoiled by a feeling that we were naughty school children who didn't know how to behave.

July 2005 A very pretty and well maintained site. Lots of space to walk your dog or just go for a walk yourself. Excellent shower facilities and shop. As for this being a child friendly site it is not. You are strongly and quiet rudely told to keep your children quiet, to the extent that if your with a group you feel frightened to speak no louder than a hushed whisper after 10pm. We were threatened with removal from the site for sitting outside talking after 10pm. There feels an atmosphere of people looking at you waiting to raise the alarm should you dare to laugh out loud. All this with the constant threat of not refunding your deposit. A good sight only if you are a couple who love the peace and very quiet of the countryside and who don’t laugh out loud after 10pm, have children who don’t play and laugh or heaven forbid you snore too loudly.

May 2005 Visited the site over May Bank holiday. Firstly i would like to say the facilities were first class. The toilets were large and spotlessly clean. The Barn Restaurant had a good choice of brasserie style food and a well stocked bar. The best way to describe the site would be commercial holiday camp. Not my cup of tea. I did not know what to expect when i booked and i should have probally have done a bit more research, so entirely my own fault! I usually stay in farm type camp sites which are much smaller and quieter. I could not believe how busy the place was. It felt so cramped that i did not want to stay around the tent prefering just to sleep there and spend our days out and about. As i said not my cup of tea but a faultless site all the same. Just don't come here if you want an out in the wilderness with the wildlife type camping! Too commercial for me.

April 2005 Just returned from a 4 night stay at this campsite and I thought it was worth submitting a review.
The campsite is very easy to find and well laid out with tarmac roads and fields and grass areas immaculately turned out. The hardstanding pitch we had was level though close to the nearby dual carriageway and quite noisy at times. the shower blocks and toilets were spotless and couldn't be faulted.
The play barn was excellent entertainment for smaller children at an additional cost.
On a negative side I had read about the owner and his rules. We had a meal in The Barn on our first night, we sat down at about 7pm with our 4 children, 2 teenagers and 2 small ones one 5 months and the other 2. While the 2 year old was playing in the designated area for children our eldest pushed the baby in her pushchair up to see him, on his return the owner asked would we mind not pushing the baby around as this was a restaurant and people were eating!, this in my opinion was out of order as the children were well behaved and not making a noise. We left at 8:30pm and I passed comment to the staff who assured me it was a family restaurant. I beg to differ.

March 2005 Beautiful site. Helpful owners, we were with a group of 8 vans / tents and the owners changed our pitch so we could be together without us having to ask. VERY large flat pitches we had a motorhome, car, trailor and wind out awning and only used 50-60% of the pitch. The ground can be boggy but only to beexpected at this time of year.
The blocks were always clean with good showers although the hot water did run low mid morning. Good play areas for the children, mine loved the one by the stream, and sensible rules about times they can use bikes etc. Lovely pub 10 mins walk serving tasty food.
Booked an extra night and will return at a later date.

October 2004 Fantastic site for visiting the beautiful surrounding countryside, a good central base for exploring Powys. A very good indoor playbarn for the little ones (extra cost) 2 hrs playtime we went when it was quiet so had about 3hrs! an outdoor play area also. Approx. 2mile walk from Brecon town, relatively flat looking walk. The owner did like his rules and expected everyone to adhere to them, I heard his one rule was no bikes after 7pm, a little silly, he could do with updating them. Rather stupidly he reseeded his pitches prior to a rally! and told fellow campers to stick to one side of their pitch! We were lucky :O) but by eck! it got muddy take wellies! Overall a very good site with clean loos and showers (most important). We will visit again, maybe spring/summer and will tackle him on his 7pm no bikes rule then :O) HappyCamping .............
