October 2004 Can't add a lot to what others have said. Basically its a very nice site in a lovely part of the country, well laid out & good facilities. There is a spacious dog walking area where woman's best friend can have a good long run & sniff - lots of interesting (to dogs) smells, rabbits, bats etc. But some of the rules seem a bit over the top e.g. no bike riding after 7 pm. Although there is a play area for the little ones & an outdoor area for the older ones with trees to climb etc, & an indoor play barn, the owner did seem a bit anti-children & thought they should be tucked up in bed very early.

October 2004 This campsite was in a very pleasant spot within Brecon. The owner had reseeded some of the pitched allocated (including ours), the first pitch we were allocated had been reseeded and as we had a tent they decided to move us oppposite to another ptich and then told us we could only use half of the pitch due ( bearing in mind we paid for full pitch) to the reseeded patches. The staff were constantly patroling and watching what we were doing and inspecting the grass on the pitches. The lady in the shop was very nice and was very helpful in lending me her airpump for my airbed. I must say that if the pitches were that bad then they should have waited until the season had finished before re seeding or not allocated those ptiches. Other than that i liked the site. The toilets were clean , there was a lovely adventure playground and a smaller park, the shop was a little poor , not much on the shelves but you could get the basics. The Barn was a lovely restaurant although the menu was very limited. The indoor Play Barn was given a big thumbs up from my children aged 8 years and 4 years.

October 2004 This is a beautiful site with glorious views, very easy access which is a godsend to us with larger caravans, spacious pitches (when you are allowed to use it all) and very clean and efficient facilities. I do feel the owner needs to communicate with his staff a little more and I don't think he's too keen on rallies / meets otherwise why would you reseed the pitches 2 weeks before one?

October 2004 Good Points: Well signposted from road. Camp site facilities were very good - toilets clean, washing up area adequately sized, good sized pitch, just the right amount of lighting around at night, large grounds for walking, small kids play area, reasonable sized shop (if a little understocked at this time of year). Surrounding area nice to explore. Not So Good Points: I suppose it was bad timing (on his behalf) that the owner had just re-seeded some of the pitches, so was anti-awnings, which meant some others staying this weekend were told to only use half their pitches (for full price). Also due to the amount of rain we had over the weekend (not constant, but frequent showers) the field turned to mud which made things more difficult (and more washing / cleaning afterwards). Summary: In the summer this would be a great site, in the autumn / winter it is less attractive.

October 2004 This site really exceeded my expectations. Not only had the owner decided to reseed the pitches that we were supposed to be using but we were only expected to use half the pitch. The pitches were grass on top of clay which made the ground really muddy when it rained.Iit also had the knack of staining everything that came into contact with it. The owner was always constantly checking up on us and telling us where to pitch , what to put up and what not to put up after his loyal staff had already told us what we could do. I felt that the £24 charged for 2 nights for the use of half a pitch was a bit steep but at least the toilet blocks and showers were clean. Although a child was in the toilets when the cleaner got in and was told off without hearing the explaination. This is a site I shall not be returning to unless they changed the owner to one that doesn't run things by rules and regulations.

October 2004 Brynich is a lovely park with stunning views of the Becons. All pitches are flat and spacious. There are hardstandings, grass pitches and a field purely for tents. The shower blocks are large with plenty of showers (push button) and toilets. Also on site is a restuarant, not a huge choice and quite pricey, playbarn, playpark and adventure playground (close to the stream that runs through the park). A Quality park and one that we will return to!

August 2004 Really lovely site, this was our first holiday in our m'caravan and choose Brecon area for walking etc. We managed to get a week at Brynich just after the Jazz Festival and were well impressed with the site. Large pitches, well run and layed out site. Good sized shop and The Barn restaruant looked very nice but we only had a few drinks outside this, menu looked good though. The views from the site of the Beacons are stunning, there is a pub up the 'lane' about 10 mins walk, or walk to Brecon along the canal towpath, 20 mins or so. The owners have some sensible rules regarding kids play things, and times of use. There is a good sized kids play area and the dog walking facilities are first class. My only gripe is that the showers could have had a bit more power. Overall 9/10

August 2004 We only stayed one night at this site as we were passing through on our way to North Wales. However, we were very impressed and will use it again. We have a campervan and the size of the pitch was probably one of the largest we have stayed in where they are clearly marked out. The staff were really friendly and the shop etc were excellent. Considering the heavy rain, the facilities were clean and tidy. We didn't use any of the other onsite facilities such as 'the barn' but everything looked particularly well kept. All in all, excellent!

July 2004 Very good as everyone else has said. The views are spectacular, the staff friendly, the childrens facilities are excellent, shop is well stocked, facilities clean and well maintained.
Barn restaurant is a good idea but needs more staff at busy periods. Food is well prepared and very tasty.
Walks in the woods are most welcome on a hot summers day.
Pitches are either hard standing or have an insert under the grass. we did not need levelling blocks! Can be very busy though which surprised me for a site in the middle of the Brecons. would visit again 9 out of 10 (bit too busy)

May 2004 Just returned from our second visit to this site. Yet again couldn't fault it. It was a Bank Holiday weekend, and was full, but the facilities coped well. The toilets and showers were spotless, shop well stocked. This site has some great touches like, fridge, freezer and microwave for everyone's use (free), washer and dryer (on payment); playground, adventure playground, large recreation field and dog walk. The views are superb too. We noticed also on this trip that they have a drying room, very useful after a day on the hills.
The adjacent restaurant (The Barn at Brynich) is excellent. There is also a village pub which serves food about 10 mins walk away.
It's a gem. We'll be back.
