First visit here for us indeed we haven't been to Wales for several years.
Easy to locate the site - upside of being near main roads. Very friendly hard working wardens who keep the site immaculate.
Well stocked site shop, view from our pitch was of the mountains - perfick, modern toilet blocks never had to queue on this holiday in fact rarely saw anyone else in there! !
Dog walk a real bonus and once we'd found the Three Horseshoes extended their walk further ha ha. Would recommend booking for a meal there as the food is excellent.
Easy walk into Brecon for an explore and can be made circular by going along by the river which has foot path signs.
We were here when the lightening struck several walkers and would like to add our condolences.
As mentioned by other reviewers there is a lot of road noise so if you're expecting peace and quiet this may not be to your liking.
The children have their own large field for all their ball games etc although the big group of children who spent the weekend seemed to prefer the roadway. There is a camping section which was full that weekend and although the caravan grass pitches were very spacious, the tents seemed crammed in.
Stunning scenery all around and the experience of climbing Pen y Fan and the view from the top will never be forgotten. Nor will the fact that our cat had stowed away under our bed and thoroughly enjoyed his unplanned fortnight in Wales! !

Back to Brecon again lovely site with nice views of the beacons. Great facilities always clean there are two blocks one at the top and one at the bottom of the site, Well stocked shop with warm rolls in a morning. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It has the best dog walk I have ever seen and we don't have one. There is a bus stop outside the site but the bus we went for never arrived. The walk by the canal to Brecon from the site was further than we anticipated being in our 70's and no benches for a rest. We came back by taxi, a nice town with supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and a small theatre by the canal. At the bottom of the site after the dog walk is a lovely foot path through the wood by a stream (steep in places) leading to a quiet lane walk took me twenty minutes to The Three Horse Shoe pub lovely food but advice booking a table. Not suitable for disabled buggies but we found an entrance to lane via the road. Well worth a visit if you like canal waking.

Just spent 4 nights at this wonderul site. Wardens very friendly. The site is kept immaculate mind you it always looks better when the sun is shining. There are 2 facility blocks. These were built last year and are always clean. There is a lovely long dog walk on site in the woods.
All pitches are spacious but you do suffer from road noise if pitched next to the dual carriageway.
There is a good size shop on site that has daily newspapers, milk, bread and a decent selection of food plus caravan spares.
There is a lovely walk up the canal to Brecon. There is a canal trip from the basin in Brecon through a set of locks to the viaduct. Nice way to spend a couple of hours on Dragonfly cruises or you can hire a boat and have a go yourself.

We have just come back from 4 fantastic nights at this wonderful site. It has recently been fully refurbished and the faculties are great.
We stayed with our tent and friends had a camper van. We had plenty of space as there were only a 2/3 other tents staying while we were there. It can take up to 12 tents and when full it would be quite cosy. All the tent pitches were lovely flat grass and all have electric hook up. They back onto the children's play area and are separated from it by a 10 foot hedge. It was great for us as we were able to let our 6 year old play on the swings and still listen out for her.
Shower blocks
We only used the upper one, but the lower one looked identical from the out side. So what do you get.
6 large showers with plenty of space to change. There was never any waiting for a shower and no matter what time we went there was plenty of hot water and good pressure. 3/4 basin units. At least 6 toilets and 3 sinks with mirrors and hair dryers. They were very clean and lovely to use with lots of hooks every where for towel/cloths ect.
Indoor washing up area with 4 sinks.
A laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers
There was a family and disabled wash room but we did not use it.
Radio 2 was played through speakers through out the block all the time. Great when washing up!
Reception
Well staffed by friendly wardens. You choose your pitch then they give you a 'unit' that opens the gate.
Shop
Well stocked with all the usual items off food and cold beer/wine, daily newspapers and magazines, lots of useful caravan items. They don't do freezing of ice packs, but do have large bags of ice for £2.
Play area
Very large field, well mowed. There is an area with a small climbing frame, 2 swings and a seesaw/round about thing. There are also 2 basketball/football hoops/goals to use. Plenty of space for all sorts of games.
Dog walk and adventure area
There is a great circular dog walk. It goes down to a stream which was great for paddling in as it was fairly shallow and was full of rocks and pebbles you could walk across it in. In the winter I would imagine it may be too fast/deep, but we had a great few hours in it. Nest to it is a wood land kids adventure course, one of those ones with balance beams and lots strung together with chains for the kids to climb along. It was one of the longest ones I have ever seen and lots of fun for kids and adults alike. A 10 min walk from the back of the dog walk is a Pub, we did not use it but were told it was good.
We didn't take our daughters bike but wish we had as there was plenty of space for kids to cycle round in a safe environment.
Location
Only a few mins drive or 30 min walk along the canal from Brecon. Easy to get to walking and into the Brecon park from here.
Over all a great site, even though it can take a large number of vans/tents it never felt crowded. Defiantly one we will be going back to.

Beautiful location, very accessible, close to risks & well signposted. Excellent site. I believe it's just been refitted and the facilities were pristine and plentiful. Helpful over the phone booking and on site staff helpful - within opening times but later than planned which can be a nuisance when quiet. A big site but landscaped so didn't feel it. One night only so didn't use local entertainment, which appears comprehensive. Before schools had broken up so quite quiet. A real joy & would use this again as a base for the area.

Spent a very pleasant week here and very impressed with the facilities, wardens very friendly and approachable, toilets and showers spotlessly clean even in very busy periods, shop very well stocked, dog walk is great even a stream for our pampered pooch to cool off in! spoke to several people who visit regularly and I can see why, we had a fully serviced pitch with plenty of space, there was a problem with the electrics on site which was dealt with promptly and we were kept informed by the wardens of how long it was likely to last( honesty goes a long way) nice views from the site and an easy walk along the canal into Brecon. Will definitely visit again.

Pros:
Excellent scenic location
Fantastic wardens
Best kept grass on any of the 8 sites we have visited in last month!
Very hot water
Good shop on site.
Best ever 'dog-walk' of any site we have visited - dog off-lead and nice little river for a swim! Also pleasant and safe/traffic-free 10 min stroll to very friendly pub in local village - dogs ok in bar and free wifi! Not tried food but guess good quality as restaurant quite busy despite the somewhat high prices compared to most 'pub-grub'.
Buses to Brecon every 2 hours from site entrance; or 27 minute walk along canal tow-path! (As measured by yours truly and spaniel!)
Cons:
Although very clean - to usual CC high standards etc the facilities now a little dated and in need of upgrading. Surprisingly no hooks to hang towels, clothes etc.
Understand site closing end of Sept until May 2014 for complete refurbishment. (Head of village Rumour Control says costing £2M !)
Will be back - in fact can't wait!

Phoned a couple of days prior to visiting the area on the off chance of getting a pitch and were lucky that they had a couple of cancellations so could fit us in for the weekend.
Wardens were very helpful and friendly on arrival and we were soon set up on a EHU pitch.
The toilet block is in need of some upgrading but that said was kept very clean and up to the normal Caravan Club standards.
A great walk along the canal towpath into Brecon town itself and as a bonus it was Jazz Festival weekend so lots to see and do.
We loved this site and the surrounding area and will definitely be returning.

Brynich, or Brecon Beacons as it is known now, is a Caravan Club Site. It is situated on the outskirts of Brecon with panoramic views of the Brecon Beacons in the distance.
This is a large site but you certainly don’t in any way feel crowded, with all pitches quite spacious even for the biggest units. The Wardens are the most helpful I have ever met and are a credit to the Caravan Club Organisation.
The toilet and shower blocks are from the days when this site was a private campsite and all though spotlessly clean they are looking a little dated now and are due for an upgrade in my opinion.
Plenty to see and do in the area from walking and cycling and even sailing, on Llangorse Lake but my favourite is to just chill out and relax in the quiet ambiance of the site as a whole.
For those who enjoy wholesome and hearty food I would recommend the Three Horse Shoes in Groesfaen, a short drive or a pleasant stroll from the site, the food here is reasonably priced and very good quality.

This site is well located near Brecon and its canal.
The tent pitch was flat in a pleasant separate field and located close to the facilities.
This site has a high level of facilities relative to the price we paid (£23 for 3 adults). We did not consider the facilities dated. They were clean, numerous and spacious and we never had to queue. There were 3 washing up sinks situated inside and plenty of space to wash up. There was an averagely priced laundry although we didn't use it.
The shop is excellent. There is a very good pub/restaurant within walking distance.
I am surprised that this site does not have better review ratings, we thought it was so good we took the trouble to move from a nearby site which was charging over 50% more.
