This is a really lovely site and the second time we have stayed - each time for 2 weeks. Mel and Mark are super friendly and helpful - and not at all intrusive.
The facilities are spotlessly clean and sufficient for the size of the site. Plenty of hot water. The pitch sizes are generous.
Location is very good for all sorts of excursions - close to huge sweeping uncrowded beaches (we didn’t see any rubbish or plastic), historic sites and museums and great towns like Bayeaux and Granville just under an hour’s drive away on good traffic-free roads.
Le Haye is just a few minutes down the road and has good facilities and a weekly market. Less than an hour to Cherbourg.
No light pollution and so fabulous starry skies too.

Friendly welcome from Mark and Mel. Site is nice and facilities are clean and tidy.
We had two gripes with the site - it is very overgrown at the entrance and around the edges which made it difficult to see the pitch number and electric points and the path to the toilets could do with being strimmed back.
Free WiFi is advertised but not available as a result of a storm which is understandable but we would have preferred to have known this beforehand. When we asked about it Mel told us there were internet cafes around about. We needed to keep in touch at home and this didn’t suit us.
On the whole the site is still worth a visit but we won’t return. We emailed our concerns and received a very cheeky reply that we were old enough to remember life without the internet! Took offence to this comment!

Very warm welcome from Mark and Mel.
Great little campsite in the countryside.
Hot water showers and clean toilets. Me and my brother booked 3 nights, but decided to stay for 7.
Plenty of places for ride outs on the motorbikes.
Could be used as a stopover or like we did, stay all week and see a lot of the Carentan peninsula, inc D Day beaches if you like.

One of the best little sites we have stayed on, such friendly owners.

We will be back for a longer stay next time.

A lovely campsite! It’s, small, clean, quiet and very well situated for cycling and for visiting the whole peninsula.
Fresh eggs from Mel’s chickens each day. La Haye de Puis (just down the road) has lots of boulangeries, bar/cafes and restaurants.
We’ll definitely book it again if going back to the Contentin area.

Thank you Mark & Mel for a lovely stay,
A peaceful and well organised setting.
Hosts Mark & Mel greeted us upon arrival and explained the facilities and they were first rate.
If we were in that area again we would not hesitate in staying at La Bucaille -

Lovely campsite run by a British couple. All facilities you would likely require and very clean!
Lovely small town close by. It's a very small place, with around 8-10 spots and also quite quiet, tends to skew older.
Not a place I would recommend if you have young kids.
Overall enjoyed our time!
