The site is grass and fairly level, with hookups and is quiet.

The Toilets are good (with toilet paper).

And the showers are good though we did find we had to move around to keep the light on.

There is a veg preparation area, no good for washing up no hot water.

Hose connection for drinking water. Also a cassette disposal point and rubbish bins.

Mel & Mark are very knowledgeable of the area which was very useful, nothing is to much for them they are very ready to help, Mark is skilled in fridge repairs.

La-Haye-du-Puits has all you will need, shops, supermarket, restaurants and fuel.

Excellent spot to tour that part of Normandie.

We had a fantastic time on this rural site. The facilities are immaculate, with the best chemical disposal we've ever come across - it's a work of art!

It took us about 45 minutes to walk to La Hayes du Puits on market day (but we didn't rush). The town has all the usual shops, supermarkets and petrol stations.

The nearby sandy beaches are fantastic, stretching as far as the eye can see - great for the windsurfing we were looking for.

The owners are great, extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. (I have only rated the child friendliness as N/A as we don't have children.)

We certainly would recommend this site. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you'll find it here.

We found this site through this website.

The information looked positive & the reviews were good too.

We were planning to cycle & so; this being a fairly flat part of the country it looked perfect.

We had a couple of emails between ourselves & Mark/Melanie to get the arrangements sorted out & we were all set.

I'm wary of 'Islands of England' type situations in France where the owners are English & all the campers tend to be English. I'm in France so it needs to feel like France. No such worry here, clearly there were a few English people on site but it is such an enchanting, beautiful, rustic French site that you really do feel you're in the right place.

I've been camping for 30 years & I think this is the cleanest campsite I've ever been to.

It's basically perfect.

There is space, there are some trees, a few birds chirping away, a beautiful clear sky at night, fantastic facilities, it is small [which has to be good].

So. In summary. Brilliant, spotless, Mark & Melanie are first class. If you can't enjoy this site. There is something very wrong.

Site is exactly as the website describes. Picturesque, quiet, within easy access of everything in Normandy you would wish to do,(local sandy, deserted beach 5 mins away, Barneville Carteret 20 mins, Landing beaches 30-50 mins away, Mont St Michel 1hr). Larger than average pitches meant plenty of space, and privacy if required, for large tent/camper vans, and even at one stage an American behemoth 'canyonaro'! Ran by two ultra friendly and helpful ex-pats who are 'living the dream', and as Mark is a Forces guy, (you are never 'ex'.Sorry Mel!)everything is ran well and spick and span. Would go back in an instant and have already recommended to friends and family. And of course you guys! Book now, you won't be disappointed.

Was there for overnight stop for ferry next day.

Mark and Mel were there when we arrived and were friendly and helpful. They made us feel so welcome and were very understanding about the late arrival of our friends who had been delayed elsewhere.

Site was spotlessly clean. There were benches to sit on and a swing for the children.

Toilet block was clean and the shower block was the same and after 3 weeks of French showers it was a joy to have piping hot water rather than luke warm or cold. There was an added bonus of magazines and leaflets of area for people to take if necessary.

Only wish that weather had been better but that was not their fault.

Would highly recommend and use again for overnight stop or a few days exploring the area

Just wanted a 'get away from it all' week in a tranquil site and La Bucaille really fits the bill.

Mark and Mel are very helpful, tell you about the surrounding area and make you feel very welcome.

Site was great - plenty of space and really nice and quiet. Toilet block is brand new and kept nice and clean by Mel and Mark. Really enjoyed the company of fellow campers.

Local town La Haye has all you need. Restaurants are an easy 25mins walk away and we had an excellent Gourmet Lunch at Le Commerce. Thoroughly recommendable.

Would definitely recommend this site.

This is a fantastic rural quiet campsite. This was our first visit, large unit with awning 3 Adults, 2 Dogs.

Have been VERY impressed with service from first enquiry, Mel and Mark quick to reply to emails and so helpful with answering questions, nothing is too much trouble. Six nice sized pitches plus tent pitches, but these are in their own area of the site.

Site was extremely clean and tidy, Toilets, showers & washing facilities kept spotless.

Please be aware this site is on a septic tank (Fosse) so remember to use fosse friendly fluids, and respect what is deposited in drains!

In a good location for visiting lots of places including D day beaches, located only a short drive to nearest beach with is lovely and sandy dog friendly too.

La Haye Du Puits is a short drive away where you will find supermarkets as well as a whole range of shops, butchers, bakers, 2 vets! Along with various restaurants. Many other lovely towns / villages near by with their own great restaurants, supermarkets etc.

If you have children great for a quiet relaxing break but not for those seeking entertainment.

I would recommend the site and will return.

We stayed at this site the last week of July. If you are looking for a nice peaceful site within easy reach of all the attractions of Normandy, then this site is a gem.

Mark and Mel have got a great little set up and are extremely helpful and friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The site has spotless showers and toilets and large pitch sizes with electric hook up.

The site is within east reach of the Normandy beaches on one side of the coast and some great walking on the coastal paths on the other. We will certainly return.

This is a lovely campsite. We've gone there for the last three years since it started, 1 large van and awning. Lovely small family run site, six pitches plus tent camping pitches, but these are in their own area of the site. Pitches are spacious and level. The ground was well drained and coped well with all the changes in weather.

Pitches were clean and tidy, owners doing lots of tidying, mowing, pruning etc. Always approachable if you have any problems as well.

Toilets / showers / washing facilities kept spotless. Showers were fine with an area to dry and dress, a hook and small stool to put washbag on. It is a Fosse operated waste disposal so remember to use fosse friendly fluids. If not chemical disposal available in local village.

In a good location for visiting lots of places including WW2 beaches and ideally placed for catching the ferry in Cherbourg. It's only a few minutes drive to a sandy beach, all the beaches we went on were clean.

It is only a few minutes drive into a lovely little town which has Intermarch, Carrefour and Aldi supermarkets as well as a whole range of small shops. Although the weather was changeable we had a good time and I would recommend the site and will return if visiting this part of France again.
