Lovely quiet site
Stayed at la bucaille for 7 nights. The site is beautifully kept, everything is spotless and Mel and Mark are friendly helpful hosts. Cannot fault anything. Also, we were really pleasantly surprised by Normandy, lots to see and do, it's not just the D day beaches!
Thoroughly recommend la bucaille if you like quiet small sites.

We stayed at this site for 6 nights and were well pleased. The site was immaculate, the facilities always clean and tidy and the hosts, Mark and Mel, were amongst the friendliest owners we have met with nothing too much trouble.
It is a very peaceful site with plenty to see in the area. We visited Omaha and Utah beaches as this year was the 70th anniversary of D Day. There are plenty of other beaches on both sides of the peninsula where you can walk for miles on sand.
La Haye du Puits was easily reached with everything you could want including a large supermarket. It is a brilliant site for stop overs or better still much longer breaks.
You will not go far wrong should you decide to stay with Mark and Mel and you might even be able to get some very fresh eggs too!

This was the site we chose on our first touring visit to France. It is a short distance from Cherbourg. The site owners Mel and Mark were absolutely fantastic, and went out of their way to help with advice local knowledge. The facilities are very good and clean. La Bucaille is a peaceful site within easy reach of the Normandy Landing Beaches. It is within short distance of the spectacular and quiet beeches of western Normandy. Although a small site absolutely recommended.

We were very pleased with the quiet, relax and wonderful campingsite. The owners Melanie and Mark, came daily to see if everything went well and if campers needed something. They also cleaned up every day the complete sanitary bloc.
We sure will return to their site in the next futur.
They speak English/French, they know the region and give enough information so you can visit all interesting places. The little city with different shops (grosery, bakery. ) is only 5 mins by car away from the campsite. We did it by bicycle without problems.

What a gem of a find, we were looking for a site in France and my wife found this site and read the reviews on UK Camp site as it is good to see what other people are saying about the sites. After seeing at the time there was 58 reviews giving 10 out of 10 we decided to book. From making the general enquiry to paying the deposit you could sense that Mark & Mel took a lot of pride in their business, they came across very helpful and friendly. Once we arrived on site Mark & Mel were there waiting to greet us, with a very warm welcome. They explained what was where and if we needed any help just let them know. The camp site is immaculately kept and the Toilet and Shower block is spotless. There is an information board and map in the shower block, so if you need any inspiration where to visit it's all there. The camp site is located just 5 minutes from La Haye Du Puits a small but beautiful town with 2 supermarkets and an Aldi, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and they are all very good. There are plenty of Beaches near by too, the nearest is Bretville just a 10 minute drive. We visited Utah Beach which is a 40 minute drive from the site, an amazing place. We did visit many places whilst there, but there is that much to see and do have already booked to go back to La Bucaille next year. I didn't want to write this review because I didn't want anyone else to find out about this wonderful site, but I think out of respect it is only fair. An added bonus Mark is a qualified Caravan Engineer so if you do have any issues with your Caravan while on site, he is only to glad to sort it. We really are looking forward to going back next year to explore a bit more of Normandy and to stay on this fantastic camp site.

Wow, what a lovely site. Melanie and Mark made us feel extremely welcome. It is a small but pretty and well maintained site. You soon get speaking to your fellow campers and this creates a really wonderful 'part of the family' feeling. Just wish we had stayed longer than 2 nights!
It is not really geared to youngsters but what a wonderful find for us 'adult only' campers.
The added bonus is that Mark is a fully qualified caravan engineer, so if you have any problems, he will sort for you.
We will most definitely return.

Lovely site in a great area. Spotlessly clean toilets and showers. Mark and Mel have worked hard to create a little oasis in Normandy. The fresh eggs were lovely and the chickens friendly.
Loads to see and do in the local area. If you like cycling take your bikes because the site is in easy reach of a plethora of cycle routes on the old railway tracks.
The beach is also within easy reach and unlike Engish beaches they are deserted, we could not understand why!
We will definitely be back.

First visit and we loved it. The site is great, very clean. Just like to say a big thank you to Mark and Mel for making us feel so welcome. You made us feel like friends. We will be making a return stay and this time will be coming for two weeks so we can see more of the great sites that are so close. Once again thanks for a great holiday.

We spent two lovely weeks at camping La Bucaille. The owners are are a very nice couple who made you welcome so much that we are booking for next year and bringing the family, as so much to see in the area with lovely beaches. Site is clean and well maintained. They work hard on it to keep it nice. Showers and toilets are very clean.
