The cosy campsite is located in a secluded orchard / garden in a quite and peaceful area just outside town (La Haye du Puits) with nature all around you. The campsite itself has all the necessary utilities and in particular the toilets and showers are VERY CLEAN and neatly kept. Big plus is also that you have hot water everywhere. For campers with tents, the small fridge is useful if you buy food in city and they have proper benches in the garden which are perfect for breakfast or dinner in the morning/evening sun. Town is not far away (3-4 minutes by car) and has all the shopping possibilities in terms of supermarkets, bakeries etc.
Even though we arrived unannounced, Mark & Mel made us feel very welcomed and were very helpful in answering our questions about the surrounding neighbourhood. We ended up staying 4 nights because we liked it so much. The peninsula is overall great for hiking and offers many scenic routes along the coast. In summer, the sandy beaches are especially nice. The campsite has many brochures about the regional sights, so once there, you can get more information to plan the trip.
Overall, we can only recommend this campsite. It was a lovely and relaxing stay! Thanks!

We stayed at La Bucaille for nearly two weeks with our two small children (aged 4 and 2) and had a fantastic time. Mark and Mel are friendly, approachable and run a tidy, quiet, laid back site. It is the perfect place to chill out - La Haye du Puits is a lovely town and the beaches and countryside surrounding it are beautiful.
We will be back!

Our favourite campsite! Loved by adults, teenage children and dog! Perfectly located to visit all the D-day sites and museums. Gorgeous sandy beaches within a 5 minute drive. This was our third visit and will not be our last. If you want a beautifully kept site with friendly owners in a perfect location - then look no further!

Spent another month at this delightful campsite, our forth visit. We took our grandsons this year and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Mel & Mark are exceptional hosts, they work so hard to ensure all their guests have a thoroughly enjoyable holiday by providing such a well kept, clean and friendly site. The town of La Haye du Puits is very close by and the shops, bars & restaurants are all good value, the Wednesday market is a must, with many many places to visit not far from the town. We have already booked again for next year. See you in 2018 Mel Mark & Mika.

A lovely site! Owners very helpful, accommodated us at very short notice. Lovely sheltered site, beautiful showers and toilets. (Showers very hot, no extra costs!)
Small area for washing up, a lot of information available about the local area, and lovely beaches too.
Thanks for a lovely stay.
Would highly recommend 10 out of 10.

Our first trip abroad with our two dogs & caravan, beautiful small site just outside La Haye du Puits, everything we could have wanted. Facilities were immaculate, plenty of info on the board for the area. Good walk into town for fresh bread, we took the scenic route for the dogs! Great, white sandy beaches within a short drive, mostly deserted even in July. Mark & Mel were brilliant with regards local info & vets for our dogs. We loved it so much we booked to go back before we left. See you soon Camping La Bucaille. Mark Mel Mika

We had a perfect start to our camping tour of France at this site, so much so we returned at the end of our trip. Mark and Mel were very welcoming with a mass of information on where to go and what to see in the area and are always on hand to help with your needs. This beautiful camp site and immaculate facilities is in a quiet area with the town of La Haye du Puits only 5min drive away where you can get all your supplies. The site is only about 1hrs drive south from Cherbourg. If you like to chill out on a quiet camp site with excellent hot showers, toilets and washing equipment, then this is the place.

This is a really lovely site, level with good size pitches and all the facilities you would expect including an endless supply of hot water. You really feel you're in rural France yet it's convenient to the ports and the many attractions of Normandy. Having ignored Normandy for many years it was a real revelation to us and we look forward to returning frequently. Mark and Mel are excellent hosts - nothing is too much trouble - they even extended their season to accommodate us. Their advice on cycling tracks was welcome and we enjoyed a glorious day's jaunt to Port Bail. Put it on your list- you'll love it.
