Great site. Ideal for lovers of CL type sites.
Excellent very clean showers and toilets.
Lovely friendly owners
We were at the end of a five week holiday in France using our touring caravan and the site was up there with our favorites
We stayed for five nights and there was plenty to interest us in the area and if our schedule had allowed it we could easily have stayed longer.
We can whole heartedly recommend this site

Have just spent seven very pleasant - weather apart - days on this site.
Melanie and Mark are all that could be wished for as hosts and they maintain their delightfully rural, small site to perfection.
All six pitches are large but sheltered.
The local town is within reasonable (c. 25 minutes) walking distance and has a good selection of eating places and shops and holds a colourful market every Wednesday. There is also an Intermarche supermarket with cheap fuel about 10 minutes drive from the site.
There is lots to see and do in the area and the Bayeux Tapestry, set in its lovely home town, is only an hour away.
Almost loathe to submit this review for fear of the site becoming too popular and potentially full when we next wish to visit!

Site is lovely and extremely clear, in a beautiful countryside. Toilets, showers and washing facilities are spotless. Our pitch was great, plenty of space.
Mark and Melanie were there when we arrived and were very friendly and helpful.
Camping La Bucaille: highly recommendation.
Montgardon is near La Hay-du-Puits. By bike in only five minutes. La Haye is a friendly village with lot of shops and restaurants. We also visited the market on Wednesday. Staying in la Bucaille, visiting the market is recommended.

This was our first time in France with our tourer and we thought that an English owned site would be ideal in case we came across any difficulties with the language and the French way of doing things.
Mark and Mel are perfect hosts, they are friendly and full of local information. A nice touch was the weather forecast, posted in the shower block which meant we could plan our week sightseeing or sunbathing!
The site is very well run with immaculately clean showers and toilets. Mark keeps a close eye on the state of the pitches and grasscutting as well as attending to the facilities.
We had an excellent weeks' holiday and would have no hesitation in recommending La Bucaille to first timers like us or to anyone who wishes to enjoy a quiet, well situated, pleasant site where the only thing that wakes you is the birdsong.

We have just returned home from a 3 night stay at La Bucaille as part of a tour of Normandy.
First impressions were excellent as we were met on arrival and shown to our pitch, the owners gave us a tour of the site and provided advice on local cycle routes, restaurants, and ideas for days out.
The pitch was spacious and unlike many camp sites we were not crammed in, the facilities were well maintained, clean and included a fridge, soap and toilet paper.
The site is located just outside La Haye-Du-Puits in beautiful countryside that is just so peaceful meaning that we were able to relax fully and enjoy a good nights sleep. It is also in a prime position to explore the American Sector of the D-Day landings, Le Mont Saint Michel and Bayeux.
We would recommend this camp site, and hope to go back soon.
(We travelled as a couple so to give a child friendly rating is difficult)

This was a 'toe in the water trip' as it was our first time abroad in our motorhome and we were a bit nervous. Mark and Mel were extremely helpful from start to finish. We were very grateful for their patient advice both before and during our stay.
This small campsite is in a lovely rural location on a hill about a mile and a half outside the charming town of La Haye du Puit. It's very well situated for travelling around the Cotenin Peninsula or the D Day beaches. The site facilities were really good and very clean and there are stacks of shops/supermarkets in and around the town so no need to starve!
We didn't have bikes but noticed lots of dedicated cycle routes through the countryside. We deviated from our normal practice of parking up the van and using public transport and travelled around everywhere in our motorhome. This was far easier than in the UK with good, quiet roads and plenty of free parking virtually everywhere we went. We actually felt welcome in our van which makes a change from in the UK.
The D Day landing beaches are superb and all easily reachable within an hour from the site. Barneville-Carteret and Cap de Carteret were lovely and only a short drive from the site.
We also visited a cider farm in St Germain - la Pert (Vergers de Romilly) which is worth a trip as are the many markets.
Sadly the weather wasn't kind to us although I understand that is pretty unusual for this time of year.
So. Did we like it? No. We loved it and will be back to France and this site as soon as we can! I would recommend this site and it's friendly owners to anyone. I think all the previous reviews speak for themselves.

This is a CL type of site that can only accept up to six units, so is naturally peaceful and quiet. However, unlike many CLs it has excellent shower and toilet facilities that are kept spotlessly clean.
The owners are a very pleasant English couple who live on the premises so are always available to offer any help if needed. Mark is also a qualified caravan service engineer and operates a mobile caravan service business from his home.
The site is located close to all amenities, being less than ten minutes away from the town of La Haye du Puits which has numerous shops, restaurants and post office. There are three local supermarkets including an Aldi.

Just back from our second Easter visit. Fantastic CL-style site - location great, pitches great, facilities perfect.
Quick drive / fair walk into La Haye du Puits which is a lovely small town. Not much more of a drive to some fantastic beaches. Around an hour's drive to both Bayeux and Mont-St-Michel both of which were very enjoyable.
Our boys (four and eight) love the site, as does my daughter (fourteen), who's enjoyed the town both trips.
La Bucaille is an ideal base to explore this area of Normandy.
Mark and Mel are most welcoming, and always happy to help! Hoping to visit again before the year's out!

Stayed here 1st weekend in August. Everything other reviewers have said applies - a superb, quiet little site with immaculate loo's and showers. We had no need for any levelling blocks, indeed all pitches appeared to be level. All pitches were of a generous size - we had a caravan, awning, two small tents and our car on ours and it wasn't cramped. La Haye du Puits and its shops just over a mile away, so not too far for breakfast croissants and baguettes. Intermarche on edge of town for those who don't like browsing. Clean sandy beaches only 4 miles away. Owners Mark and Mel helpful and enthusiastic and had time for everybody. Will happily return again.

We received a warm welcome from Mark and Melanie. Arrived in the pouring rain on way back to England, but despite that they both spent time talking to us.
Although only 6 pitches they were adequate. Toilet block very clean and made us feel like we were back home!
As a family we have added this to one of our preferred stop-over sites. Although only stayed for 1 night would consider for a longer stay if we were in the area for longer. Highly recommended. They also offer gite facilities for non-campers
