We spent 2 nights at Broomfield while doing the NC500 and absolutely loved it. We were lucky enough to get a hard standing pitch at the front by the beach which was brilliant but we did have great weather so that made a difference. Yes we had to put our electricity cable across the road as that is where the electric point was but it was no problem.
The office was shut but they were driving around so saw us and let us sort a pitch out wherever we wanted.
Ullapool is nice town, has Tesco for supplies and nice little pub 5 minutes walk from the site.
If you are lucky enough to see them there are otters who swim along the shore front and come onto the beach.

Stayed here for 2 nights 12-13th May. The site was very busy possibly due to the Ullapool Book Festival. This has got to be one of the best sea view sites. We were lucky to have two stunning sunsets. The facilities on the site are fairly basic but adequate. One block has been done up recently. The site has easy walking access to Ullapool with a Tesco, filling station and cafes and restaurants. I don't think there was any free wifi. This site was a little more expensive that others visited on this trip but worth it for the location.

Unfortunately, it was very wet on our visit and although we had visited this site before with a tent and motorcycle, this was the first time with a campervan. The site is in a fantastic location BUT the wet conditions highlighted a real problem in such conditions. There are no hardstandings and several units had already been stuck in the mud when we arrived. Luckily we did park up without getting stuck but again the van who tried to park next to us was not so lucky. Clearly there is nothing the wardens could have done and they were extremely friendly and did try to give guidance towards the drier spots. The facilities have become rather run down since our first visit and really could do with a bit of TLC. The location is what makes this site though - superb views down the loch and Ullapool with all facilities, an easy stroll away. Don't miss out on the fish and chips!

My grandaughter and I arrived in a gale of wind and sheeting rain but as we live in scotland we didn't come for the weather ! we were told we could park anywhere and were shown on a site map where the hook ups were. I wish I'd parked closer to the water taps as it was a bit of a hike from where we were. The site is huge but there was plenty of room for us. We stayed for a week and we were very happy to. The site is right on the beach so we went beachcombing every day. Ullapool is a delightful town with lots to do for everyone.

The situation of this site is wonderful with the town nearby and great views and it was the first site we ever visited when we began motorhoming. However, since then we have been to many other sites and conclude the supervision here is woeful. The office is only manned for a couple of hours in the late afternoon but there is no help for units arriving before or after this time. The warden comes round at 8 am the next day to take the fees. It was like a swamp when we were there and we were lucky to get off the field, more hardstanding required. Many hookups are some distance away and involve laying the cable over the roadway, not ideal. Covers are available to rent when the office is open. When we were there this time the washing up sinks in the second field were blocked with no-one to help. There are plenty of toilets and showers.
A big site which should be wonderful, but unsafe when not properly supervised.

We tried to book in advance but were told they did not take bookings for single units and just to turn up, which we did. Got a lovely spot overlooking the beach and Loch Broom. The EHU were a bit unusual as they were across the access road meaning you needed to have a long cable (a full stretch for our 25m cable) and vehicles were rolling over the cable all the time, some people had cable protectors! Toilet blocks were fine with six toilet cubicles and six showers in one block but only one hand dryer! Push button shower with limited space and with only one hook in cubicle. Very short walk to town and plenty shops and restaurants. This is a large site with loads of space for camping or if you did not need an EHU. Walks nearby and you can always take the Ferry to Stornoway for something different. TV signal limited so needed to use satellite for TV.

Yes its a fantastic location and very convenient but at £23 per night I would expect quite a lot more.
Quite frankly, I got the impression that once you coughed up your money that was the end of the relationship as far as the owners were concerned. The guy was pleasant enough but clearly was not interested in any conversation and certainly did not offer any information about the area.
The facilities are adequate but basic and to be fair at least one of the toilet blocks has been fully refurbished very recently.
Visited well over 100 sites and have never had to run hook up cable across site road before.
Its hard to say why I just did not particularly like this site, maybe its just too big and impersonal.
Disappointed, but would return in view of the location.

All touring sites should be measured against this one. Plenty of room for everyone which included spectacular views for all. Town just 5 minutes walk away, as is the harbour. Nice Indian take away at the site gates and 2 fish & chip shops in the town (one is superior to the other) I'll let you decide for yourself. Really helpful wardens.

Fantastic shoreside site. You can select your own pitch and we chose one on the edge of the stoney beach. 2 blocks of toilets and showers, both clean and the showers hot. All waste emptying very good and the site kept clean and tidy. Easy walk into the town with interesting museum, a good fishmonger/butcher and other shops. Good pubs and a Tesco. The weather was fine and sunny and we liked it there so much that we stayed 3 nights instead of the planned one night. The ferries and cruise ships pass the site on their way to the harbour which is very interesting. This was our favourite site on our trip around the north coast and if we ever get this far north again we will certainly go back there.

On the attractive shores of Loch Broom, this campsite is huge. 'pull in, pitch up, no need to book” we were told when we rang ahead. £18 for van +2 and £3 ehu. There were probably 80 motorhomes, caravans, campervans and tents here and easily room for another 80. A large area was reserved for what was, probably, a rally the day after our single night stay. We only used the fresh water tap and waste drop facilities, which were all fine. There was a large adjacent field, perfect for our dog walking. The town's facilities and harbour were only minutes away.
