Site was pretty full when we were here. Beautiful setting very handy for shops and restuarants. Baker comes round every morning with bread and cakes. As previously mentioned reception never seems to be open. The showers and loos could do with updating but were fairly clean and functional. Beware the tap water had a dirty tinge to it and we ended up buying bottled water.

May 2004 This site does not accept bookings but had room for us even arriving at lunchtime on Saturday over the Whitsun Bank Holiday - and we got a pitch with electric hook-up right on the shores of the loch! Showers, toilets etc were good and not overcrowded at all. Beautiful views, very peaceful, walks all round as well as all the amenities of Ullapool. You get to pick your own site and they come round to collect the fees in the morning if no-one is around when you arrive.

April 2004 Campsite right on the seashore. The scenery is amazing. Walking distance to the centre of town and harbour. Toilets clean and plenty showers. 20p for 6 minutes was fine for us. Site rather expensive (£16) especially for people with no children (children free). Two small complaints -no drain for dirty water, we had to use the chemical toilet disposal, which was on an 18" ledge and the reception is always closed. The warden arrives at 8am and notes all newcomers. He returns at 9am and demands payment. We were always up, but we saw folks being dragged out of bed to pay. We visited Auchiltibuie and Lochinver to the north and Gairloch (great museum) and Poolewe gardens to the south. Both routes have spectactular scenery. We also took a day trip on the ferry to Stornoway on the Western Isles. A great day out. Next time we shall stay a couple of days.

aug 2003 Ideal for just about anyone, very close to all amenities in Ullapool. Only campsite we visited that timed the shower at six minutes. Good in one way, ie with a busy campsite it gets people through. I didnt need the six mins anyway!!

Easter 2003 Handy for town centre and right on the shore of the loch. Picturesque is a word that sums this campsite up. Toilets and showers are clean, functional and very cold. Would go again as Ullapool is a nice town and we rather like the idea of taking the ferry across to the Western Isles.
