 Being a full-time carer for my husband, who is totally wheelchair dependent, my review will be based on accessibility. We visited this site a week ago, for a three night stay. We had no problem in choosing a decent pitch, requiring only one leveller under a wheel, although some pitches appeared to be more sloping. We were on the second row from the front but still had a splendid view over Loch Broom and could clearly see the CalMac ferries, coming and going - a quite impressive sight, after dark.
Facilities are quite dated but always appeared clean. Showers require a 20p piece but, a warning to the ladies -if your hair takes a lot of shampooing, take 40p! There was a disabled cubicle in the Ladies, but only had a loo and handbasin inside - something we come across regularly and find, very annoying. As handbasins aren't in privacy cubicles, it would have been too intrusive to even think about taking my husband in there. I have no idea what was housed in the Gents.
The site road is loose stone but pretty well compacted so no problems pushing the 'chair. The site is on two levels so no problems in avoiding any pushing uphill, as was the case from our pitch.
Ullapool is undulating but the main shops and harbour are on the level. We don't 'do' restaurants or bars but enjoy having coffee or tea out. Because we hit on reasonably good weather, places were offering outside seating so we had no problems with lack of space or steps. Kindness towards my husband was shown by all whom we met. Would we go back? Definitely!

This site is in a great location for catching the ferry as previously noted. Local area has lots to do, great choice of eateries and facilities.
The views are superb, however due to being exposed can be a bit breezy! Pitches not very level but we managed. Staff friendly.
We would not return due to dated, cold and dirty toilet block. You also have to pay for showers which are a dribble. Shame as site was busy so would expect better.

We stayed here just one night with an early morning ferry to catch to Stornoway. The Site is ideally located close to the terminal, making it an ideal stopover. It is a very open site with good views of the loch and open sea from almost every pitch. It can also be, though, from watching a French couple erect some kind of trailer tent, quite exposed.
The town with its eating places, bars and multiple branches of Edinburgh Woollen Mill is a very short stroll away. There are also some good climbs ( Munros included) in Wester Ross just off the Dingwall Road.
Site facilities were high quality with plenty of showers and toilets. We'd have no hesitation staying here again if we were catching a ferry.

We stayed two nights here, and were lucky enough to get a lochside pitch, just a few steps from the water. Only disadvantage - the cable for the hookup has to run across a small road. We borrowed a rubber cable cover from the campsite manager (for a £30 deposit) which protects the cable and also lessens the risk of anyone tripping over it, but many people didn't bother.
Pitches further from the water are slightly elevated, so everyone gets a good view - spectacular when the Stornoway ferry goes past. All the pitches were on grass, most with a slight slope. There was plenty of space for tents, and lots of bikers - it's a well-known bike-friendly destination.
The toilet block was good, although there seemed to be an extra charge for using the showers. There was a motorhome disposal point, but it was awkwardly sited and the morning we left it was very busy, so we didn't wait.
Biggest attraction of the site is that all the eating and drinking establishments of Ullapool are just a short walk away. We were there on a busy bank holiday weekend, so we ended up trailing round town looking for somewhere to eat without a long wait, but everywhere was full to capacity. We ate late that night, and cooked in the van the second night. Moral - always book ahead!

We visit this campsite for several weekends every year as we love Ullapool. The campsite itself is very clean and tidy, facilities are clean, tidy and plentiful (haven't checked out the laundry and dish washing facilities). I will say that the shower/toilet block was very cold as it has no heating so with the British weather being what it is, April was a wee bit cold.
A very peaceful location and with it being right on the loch you get to see the ferries coming and going, as well as the occasional fishing boat.
Very accessible and well signed and only minutes walk from the lovely village of Ullapool, with plenty of eateries, chemist, supermarket and a little village hardware store, that stocks anything from fishing gear to spanners, games to crocks and a range of camping gear.
Check out the Seaforth Seafood Bar and Bistro - beautiful food.

We came as a group of 10-15 motorbikes.
I arrived late at night, 11pm, with the rest of the bike club already fast asleep. So here I am pitching a tent in the pitch black night with a bit of light (there was a streetlamp inside the camp which helped a bit) XD Fast forward to the morning and we paid the woman who came round for the money.
The price was £10 (down from £12 since we were a large party) for me and my bike (right next to the tent!) for 2 nights. The warden was a very nice lady and even showed an interest in the bikes (which is always good :) ) Didn't speak the the guy much (he drove the tractor that picked up the bins) but he seemed nice too.
This park is huge, loads of space. The site was quite busy when we got there, even for such a big site, mostly filled with big touring caravans. The surroundings were beautiful. The loch was right by the park and you were only a 5 minute walk from the main street! Even though that is the case, the park was still quiet.
There wasn't much kid wise to do in the park itself but I seem to remember a climbing frame in the park. Roundabout the park, you were within easy access to about 5 different pubs. There was one with a wall right into the park which served particularly good coffee (if a bit overpriced).
There is a coffee shop not far away called 'The Tea Room'. If you get a chance, stop in there, they serve great breakfasts (fry up and the like) and bottomless cups of coffee/tea. The meals were top notch!
There were numerous take outs (2 Indians, a Chinese and a 2 chip shops) within easy walking distance and a general store which did your milk, bread all that stuff.
There was a market that seemed to run every Sunday in the centre of town. Just a small one with maybe 6 to 8 stalls. Not my cup of tea but maybe you would like it?
Anyway, back to the site, the facilities on site were top notch, there were drinking water taps all around the site and a large toilet block in the centre with maybe 10 stalls, 3 of which were showers with hot water. A few urinals and about 5 sinks with shaver outlets. Well equipped!
The one thing about the toilet was that there was a set of stairs you had to go down to get to them. The stairs were just wooden with no robber coating on so were quite slippery when wet. It would be better if these had some kind of non-slip coating on to stop any accidents or even if the stairs were made of concrete instead. I didn't mind though, was ok if you took your time and didn't try to run down them.
If you were into fishing, you could go to the loch where you could catch fish. I'm not into fishing though, so I didn't.
The ground was soft but I picked a bad place to pitch the tent as it was quite close to the road into the park which had quite a lot of rocks. Jagged into my back as I didn't have a mattress at the time (inexperienced XD). That was my fault though.
Didn't really spend much time there as went up to Durness after the first night (the main destination of my trip) but I enjoyed my stay.
So all in all, a good site but not much for the kids to do. If you are going as adults, it is a great site and I would totally recommend it! Just remember your mattress if you pitch near the road (ooyah!).

A perfect spot to use as a base for exploring the western coast.
We were given a spot that suited a large tent and did feel we had enough space and a fantastic view.
The site is just on the edge of Ullapool, plenty of places to eat and shop as well as loads of things to do and see in the area.
We enjoyed our stay and felt the site and area was friendly

Ullapool stunning, site great with stunning views. We liked it so much stayed an extra night. As already stated on arrival you pick your pitch and the wardens collect payment in the morning. Site busy but we had plenty of room.
Toilets etc were fine, require 20p for showers.
Ullapool is a fantastic place, walked some of the Ullapool hill walks, the views are stunning. Also walked the river walks too, which the dog enjoyed.
Ate at the Seaforth both nights, warm crab salad very very nice.
Can't wait to return.

Great site with fantastic views over loch Broom. Ideally situated within walking distance of the town of Ullapool.
Only downside is the toilet/shower block which is very dated and the showers were quite poor. Electric hook-ups are quite a distance away so best to take a long extension when pitching on loch side.
Local shopping nearby is good with Tesco within waking distance. Lovely sitting watching ferries going back and forward to Isle of Lewis.
Great day out to Stornoway on the ferry.

This is a great site, we came here for a couple of days and stayed for four. We weren't lucky enough to get a loch side pitch as it was busy, but we were three rows back on the hill and still got a great pitch with a great view over the loch and of the sunset as well.
You just find a pitch for yourself on arrival and you pay the fees on a morning at 9. 00 or between 3-5pm which was no hardship.
The couple came round in the morning in a van and collected the fees which were reasonable for the site and view.
The toilets were well cleaned and looked after with no issues at all.
Only one thing I would say was a downside was that the pitches were not marked out which is not a problem, but you always find people trying to squeeze in!
When we pitched the camper and the drive away awning we made sure we were the right distance from the next camper, but after a couple of days that camper left and we got a caravan next to us less than a meter from the side corner of my Bongo. The plus side was that we got a reduced rate due to the these people pitching so close, the lady apologised as she gave us money off though.
As previously mentioned by someone, that's not the sites fault its the ignorance of other campers really.
Ullapool itself was just a few mins walk from the site and loads of shops and with the Indian takeaway at the entrance to the site which was very handy and good.
There was not much in the play park but the beach and local amenities made up for that.
