This site is in a great position for those taking the ferry to or from Stornoway. It is also 5 minutes walk from Ullapool so good for pubs, shops and food. There are no hard standing on the site, the electric hook ups are at one side of the track so some units have to trail wires across the roadway. The ground was quite muddy in areas. The toilets and showers are dated and although clean do not feel that good to use. Trying to keep the water running was a challenge and it was not very hot. The building is old and the roof space open so it is quite cold and drafty. There was no one I. The office for most of the day, although they seem to be there when the ferry comes in to take new campers and they are on site in the mornings to take money.
This is a stopover site as far as I am concerned and not one that I would spend time on.
This seems to be a really busy site and hence not quiet, plus local kids come over the fence and use the play area.
The site is OK but for the standard of facilities and service it is expensive.

This site is situated very handy for anyone using the Hebrides Ferry (I set our satnav whilst the boat was docking and it said your destination is in 659 yards !) Its just a 5 minute walk into Ullapool with is shops, pubs and restaurants (there's an Indian as the site entrance) We ate at the Seaforth Inn amazing large fish & chips & real ales ! The view from the site over the loch is fantastic, we saw seals & otters ! However the main let down is the site drainage ! when it rains (as it does all the time in Scotland lol) the all grass pitches become extremely boggy (we had an amazing lochside pitch but paid the price in the morning having to be towed out with the tractor) Also those using loch side pitches must run their EHU cables over the road to the hook ups, so everyone using the site just drove over your cable ! The shower & toilet block is somewhat dated and due to the weather was totally plastered in mud and cut grass ! I'd rather be smelly for a day than use facilities like that ! all in all great location but site needs some work (wardens were very friendly and most helpful especially when we got stuck in the mud)

Very good for an overnight stop before getting the morning ferry.
Arrived on site in atrocious weather and site was obviously suffering from the bad weather this year. We were however able to get a firm spot on the grass. Pitching is a bit higgledy piggledy but wasn't helped by everyone trying not to park in a soft spot on the wet grass.
Staff pleasant but didn't have much contact except to pay.
The wash block was clean, water hot. Good washing up facilities.
If you walk through site along the coast you get to good dog walking area.
Easy walking distance into Ullapool with shops, takeaways, pubs etc.
Would use again and hope for better weather!

This site as a relaxed feel with many visitors from all over europe.
The staff were happy and friendly. Freezers are provided and you can loan there ice packs while yours are freezing. The position overlooking the see and easy walking distance to Ullapool is good.
The shower block was cold and the water only just warm enough. The grass pitches were getting muddy with all the rain.
The staff and atmosphere on this site for me though is better than the Ardmair point site down the road.

The location is perfect, it's nice to walk to town easily and access all the local services.
I didn't really enjoy my stay here though, everyone is parked quite close and the toilets and showers are quite old.
The price is ok, one of the cheapest I've stayed in two weeks touring, and the staff are friendly. But I couldn't imagine staying more than one night.

The campsite is great for families, groups of people, or couples. The shower/toilet block is clean and cleaned regularly. The facilities for dishwashing and laundry service are good if needed. The campsite is on the edge of the loch and has wonderful views and easy walking access into the town of Ullapool to restaurants, shopping and tourist facilities. However, this campsite is not good for the single male traveller, with prejudices and hangups which people still have today! I will not be using this campsite again for the way I was treated, particularly when people don't realise that when you are in your tent, the conversation that they are having about you can clearly be overheard! It is up to the individual as to how they wish they want to spend their holiday and it is really no one else's business about how they spend their time in doing it. If you have personal comments about people, it is best to keep that to yourself and not share it with anyone! It's just good manners.

This site is well positioned for access to all the amenities in Ullapool including a large supermarket, a well stocked outdoor leisure store, restaurants and pubs all within easy walking distance and as such provides the perfect location in the area for both through travellers such as ourselves or for anyone wishing to spend a little longer here.
The centrally placed site facilities were clean and reasonably well maintained, although may find it difficult to handle a full site and the tent pitches were on level ground located to the left of the site access road leading around to the caravan and RV stands.
Another of our party dealt with payment for our single night stay, so I cannot comment on friendliness of the staff, but I think it's safe to assume they were as helpful as we've found elsewhere throughout our motorcycle tour of Scotland.

What a fantastic location. However, the site requires investment in my opinion. The drainage was non existent making the grass pitches very muddy. No choice of hard standings. Motor homes being continually pulled off their pitch with the owner and his tractor. The toilet/shower block was cold and not the cleanest, due to the mud and grass being carried in on visitors shoes.
Many foreign visitors on site, not a good example to set for Scotland!
Could be one of the best sites in the UK with a little tender love and care.

This is always our first campsite that we stay when touring on our motorbikes. I have stayed here for 4 years running, always in June before the English schools break up. However, it is still a busy site even at that time of year. The views are fantastic, it never seems to get dark. In Ullapool, there are some good bars and the Fish and Chips are to die for. There is also a Tesco which is good for stocking up on food and of course booze.
The ground is very hard, when travelling light on a motorbike, it can be uncomfortable as there is only a thin layer of turf before you meet rock and stone. For such a large and busy site, the toilets could do with an upgrade. There is no heat, the lights are very dim, when you close the door to your shower or toilet cubicle, it is very dark. Overall, as it is always the start of our holiday, it is always great to arrive, pitch your tent, go to the bar and have your fish and chips. Will be back in June 2015, look for two Honda Fireblades.

Good site, lovely spot!
£10 per night for single tent, car and no EHU which is reasonable value.
Arrived late so pitched up and the owners popped around the site collecting fees next day.
The site has a few slopes but easy to find a flat spot, particularly lockside (to left of road).
Facilities were adequate and clean and seemed well serviced.
Location is good being on the edge of Ullapool with plenty of places to eat and drink. Ferry Boat Inn at far end of town is probably best pub and worth the extra walk. Wouldn't recommend the takeaway opposite the ferry terminal.
Great watching the ferry come up Loch Broom. Ooh when leaving Ullapool going south check the ferry arrival time as its rush hour in Ullapool - just give it 20 minutes to clear.
It's a great location to tour the Assynt and Summer Isles area with loads of outdoor stuff to do.
I visited in late May and the midges were evident but no great numbers. Imagine they might be a problem in the height of summer but if you're going to Scotland you'll be used to them.
