Great campsite with a fantastic Indian takeaway/restaurant very nearby.
The showers would really benefit from a shelf or hooks to place/hang things whilst showering though.

We stayed at Broomfield for one night both before and after the ferry journey to The Outer Hebrides. As has been previously mentioned, you can't pre-book, it is just a turn up and hope for the best. Which is fine if you get there early, but even in late May/early June it was getting full by 5pm, just as the ferry from Stornaway unloads.
Although the campsite is quite well appointed, decent showers, toilets and other facilities, in a location beside a beautiful loch, it has a slight feeling of a transit camp where very few people stop for more than a single night, despite being in the largest town for miles. Having said that, the woman at reception was very friendly and helpful despite being run off her feet.
Ullapool is a great place to refuel and stock up groceries from Tesco when touring in the Highlands. There is at least one pub with live music along the harbour front, but we found eating out to be a bit expensive.
I would stay again, for convenience, but would probably go without EHU at £7 a night which seemed a bit steep.

Don’t bother calling to pre book a site, because you can’t ! It’s a case of just turning up and booking a pitch.
Very handy and popular as a stop over for the NC500 route.
A large site with lots of tent ( no hookup for tents of any type) pitches.
The site is dominated by motor homes / camper vans of all shapes and sizes

The campsite was lovely
Clean toilets and showers, no queues and it was early in the season there was a lot of us there.
I was worried as you couldn't book but there was no problem.
We had a lovely view by the water which is where I wanted to be.
The lady who booked us in was helpful,
We would go back again.

Fantastic site with good facilities, clean toilets and pitches were well kept.
When we arrived at the site we booked in and were able to choose our own pitch so ended up with a fantastic view across the water.
The site is right in the heart of Ullapool which is a gorgeous little town with a variety of shops and restaurants and a port.
It is also an ideal stop over while doing the NC500 or if you were getting the ferry to Lewis as it’s situated minutes from the check in for the ferry

Second time here, taking friends with us as we loved Ullapool so much previously.
Love the location near the sea, unfortunately the weather was not so great this time around.
Friendly staff booking in, and facilities are good.
Only drawback is not being able to book in advance so worry it may be full on arrival.
Some nice places to eat, the Seafood Shack in particular, but not many pubs just for a drink.

Good location.
Showers not as good compared to some same priced sites elsewhere. Need updating and modernising. Plenty of toilets.
Good for dog walking close by.

Friendly, helpful welcome.
Stunning location -
Central to all of Ullapool’s amenities, yet on the side of Loch Broom which made for a very peaceful setting.
