What a fantastic location, views out to the Summer isles and a short stroll into town. The site itself is open and spacious, with pitches right on the shores of Loch Broom. The toilets and showers are dated but adequate and kept clean. This site is great base for touring the north west coast and surrounding area. Rock pegs are a must there is a rock base under the grass which will destroy your average tent peg. Best chip shop in Scotland the fish is so fresh and with lovely pubs and good food in the town

Visited mid-week so site was uncluttered, clean and quiet. Can be a bit noisy high season. Toilet block clean and showers excellent. Play area for sprogs but none in residence. Ullapool is a beautiful little town, plenty of places to eat and drink, outdoor shops, crafts, supermarkets. Seafood in the Seaforth was v. Good but shock, horror! no Red Cuillin ale this year. A great centre for walking the hills of Assynt. Climb 2,000 ft. Stac Pollaidh for one of the best views in Scotland, then swim in Loch Lurgainn, if you're hard enough!

Great location for pubs, shops and exploring. Reception is open 3-5pm, if you can't make that, fees collected in morning. With reference to previous reviews, the campsite is only small, yes only one tap, but can't be more than 1 minutes walk form any part! Showers are 20p, but 6 Min's long, powerful and very hot. There are 6 showers on site and I never had to wait once in 5 days. There are plenty of sinks and shaver points. The 2 blocks are cleaned daily between 11-12. Grass clippings got everywhere, how can you prevent that? you can't change the weather or stop the grass growing! O.K moan over. The site is reasonably flat with open and sheltered areas, lovely views from tent door. Great pub nearby, The Seaforth, has well priced, appealing menu and during our stay, entertainment every night. Somerfield not far, nor is the Indian or Chinese (or the other 3 pubs). Ullapool is very tranquil, picturesque and Bloomfield's is more than adequate. We will be returning!

Expensive, no pitch markings so felt crowded, filthy toilets and showers, (cobwebs in cubicles) no hot water in wash basins, 12 quid a night then 20p for a six minute shower, no dump point for motorhomes, only one freshwater tap I could find, likewise one cdp and one greywater drain. Reception doesn't open until 3pm.
A great shame as location is spectacular , nice little town , good eating places , lovely views , and a good base for some of the west coasts most awesome scenery.
One very good thing I have noticed is the site has midge eaters installed , excellent , and have to admit I have not been bothered by the little b's at all. Wish a few more sites would install them.

Having read the reviews, we were disappointed in this site. In fact, we moved on to Ardmair Point the next day and found everything we had expected at Broomfield. At Broomfield, the staff weren't in evidence at all. In fact, a sign in the office window asks campers not to hesitate to call the police in the event of a disturbance overnight. It also gave the home 'phone numbers of the wardens. The office wasn't staffed until after 3pm (we arrived about 12.30). We pitched where we could but weren't sure which were the hook-up pitches. Some had cables trailing over roadways, which I would have thought was less than ideal. And we had problems finding a level pitch as the site was very busy.Yet we couldn't find anyone to advise us. In the morning, staff appeared to collect pitch fees from those not already paid. The shower blocks were in reasonable condition but were muddy and looked uncleaned. To be fair, the weather was very poor and it's difficult to avoid treading mud through shower cubicles. But this is something staff should expect and cater for. Because the site doesn't have marked pitches people tended to cram themselves in so we found pitch sizes became very small and some areas were crowded even while others had loads of space. And the site was a little noisy after dark, mainly older children. For all that, the location and proximity to the charms of Ullapool may well compensate for any gripes. The receptionist when she appeared was very pleasant and efficient. And the midgies weren't too bad - they were probably sheltering from the rain.

Love this site, really handy for the town, Can walk to a variety of pubs in minutes. Also spoilt for choice for fish and chip shops. Lovely views over Loch broom, and you can relax and watch the ferry come in. Shower/Toilet block fairly good, although grass cuttings get everywhere, and makes it look messy. Very laid back attitude, just pich your tent and pay later. Baker's van comes round in the morning if you want fresh rolls. Depending on your pitch, if your out of the sea breeze you tend to be midge free, but avoid the longer grass at the back.

Beautiful position overlooking Loch Broome. In the morning, we watched dolphins as we ate our breakfast. Very friendly staff. Clean toilets and showers and lots of them. Hook-up available. No shop on-site but there is one within 5 minute walk. 2 minutes walk into the town, plenty of places to eat and drink within 5 minute walk and only 1 minute from the ferry terminal. Great!

Thought we'd try this site after reading so many great reviews and am glad to say we were not disappointed. Pitch up where you like and the man comes round in the morning for fees, we were £14 for two adults family tent and EHU. Nice flat site plenty of room and spectacular views Loch side if you pitch lower down. Good functional toilets, well maintained.
2 mins from the centre of Ullapool which has loads of places to eat and drink. Lovely fish rest by the docks. Nice guy, Sander, runs the site well and I would have no worries recommending this lovely site in the Highlands. Loads to see and do when staying in and around the area.

This is a good, flat site right on the loch side. Good, clean lavs and a marvellous setting. You can watch the Stornoway ferry arriving and leaving. Ullapool is a small town and the site is within a few minute's walk of all the shops, pubs and restaurants.
I paid 6 quid for one person and one small tent. There is an Indian restaurant and a pub right at the entrance to the site but most people (including me) seemed to eat at the excellent Seafresh Foods fish and chip shop opposite the ferry terminal/bus stop.
There's a nice walk up the hill behind the village. Good views over the loch and surrounding hills. Midges were a problem when the wind dropped but that's the west of Scotland for you - even in early September.
