Visited this site in July for just one night, family of four, two adults, two children.
Lovely site. Level pitch, maintained well, nice surrounding area, but did not really look around. The toilet block was immaculate. Friendly owners.
The children loved it, made friends and played - a must to have a child driendly site!
Definitley would go back for longer, and recommend to other campers, but did not stay that long.

TOILET BLOCK:: really posh. Sensor controlled showers etc, all new
PLAYGROUND: none. Also it seemed they were quite anti- ball games but there was some space in the middle where a few kids had a kick about. I suppose if it got out of hand they could say they had specified no ball games, but the owners seemed very relaxed. There was loads of open space by the river not 5 mins away where kids could run around, or run through the water fountains by the pool.
SPACE: there was not much. Maybe because it was bank hol weekend but it was choc-a-bloc. This was well-managed and we did not mind, but if you want loads of space.
LOCATION: amazing. 5 min walk into town, over medieval bridge. River side pub lovely. We went on a beautiful walk to Benson to see the boats go through the lock.
We would definitely go back.
P. S am scoring 7/10 for site facilities because we would have loved a little children's play area. But everything else was really good.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of the half term week. On arrival we were shown to our pitches but decided that we couldn't pitch the tent as it was on a slope. We asked to move to another pitch and that was fine. The pitches themselves aren't marked out clearly enough and they are very close together, not a lot of privacy luckily we had a windbreak with us.
The toilet block is well maintained and modern although the showers in the ladies were having problems on two of the mornings so no showers were had. The washing up facilities are lovely but only two sinks so there was a bit of a wait at times.
The location near to the Thames was great and we had a lovely walk along to the lock at Benson. BUT the noise from RAF Benson was incredibly annoying one night with helicopters on night exercises. The following night the pub over the bridge had very loud music still going on after 1 in the morning and then our last night was spoilt by an all night rave going on somewhere. Perhaps we were just unlucky! The road noise is noticeable at all times and we live near a main road so are used to traffic noise.
Wallingford is a nice town and an easy walk and the River Thames being so close was great for the dog and the kids even paddled in it.
Overall a nice site but a little too crowded and noisy.

We spent 3 nights at this site, selecting it as somewhere reasonably close to home with good facilities according to most reviews.
It turned out to be a lovely site. Fairly quiet as early in the year though we were blessed by good weather which enabled us to do a number of miles in both directions on the Thames Path which is only minutes from the site.
Also only a few minutes walk is Wallingford with a good range of pubs, cafes etc.
Having read reviews I can only say how pleased we were with the site facilities. They were excellent, featuring heated showers, toilets etc.
Pitches were nice and flat.
Would certainly return to this site

We wanted a site for our short break in March, near to Oxford, we found this ideal, rural site, the town a short walk away, over the Thames bridge. It was best, cleanest we've ever experienced, a 5* shower block, with underfloor heating. Unlike caravan club sites' strict closing during cleaning times, the friendly cleaner here was very flexible, allowing us to enter the block to use the loos, during this time. By walking round the site, it was easy to find all the facilities we needed, places for emptying waste containers, covered washing up area and rubbish bins located in the middle of the site, under picturesque, small, round, open-barns!
Definitely worth another visit to explore the area when the weather is warmer!

The site is in a great position. Great for walks down the Thames. Just over the bridge from Wallingford which is a lovely town with Lots of pubs restaurants, and lots of parks about the town for the kids to play and adults to sit and chill.
The site itself was well kept. The showers were state of the art and very clean, the best I have seen. The water taps were underneath what looked like wells, very cute.
The chap who showed us to our pitch was very friendly.
The downside of this site for us was we were crammed in, with not much space to sit outside. It was a weekend and it looked like the site was very popular with frequent guests who met up in groups and had day visitors. On the Saturday it was lucky we hadn't planned to drive anywhere because we were blocked in by cars etc with no way out. There wasn't a play area on site or room to play, so I wouldn't consider taking my 10 year old daughter. I think she would get bored.
Even though it wasn't suitable for us I would recommend it, because it is in a great area and a very clean well looked after site. Be great if you were with a group of friends/family.

Lets start with the plus points;
Toilet/shower facilities second to none, absolutely spotless.
The washing up area and toilet sluices were also within the new build.
Location, good for exploring the Thames area and a short walk into the town of Wallingford.
Site shop was handy and they did daily newspapers
Now for the negative points;
We were shown to our pitch but were not given any info as to where the water points, grey water points, rubbish bins etc were located, had to ask fellow campers where they were.
Did they ever pack people in! Tents were pitched between caravans everywhere with people having charcoal BBQ's not more than 4ft away from motorhomes. Appeared to be complete disregard for safety and fire.
As previous reviews there are no play facilities for children and due to the sunny weather there were plenty about. They were running around everywhere between units and also having water fights !
Other reviewers have commented on there being no on site dog walk but the open fields along side the Thames are only a few yards away.
Altogether a well located site but will not consider visiting again either during school holidays or weekends.

Its a shame because although the site is well kept and the amenities block was very clean, and the location is very good,
on arrival several people, myself included were shown to our pitch only to be moved soon afterwards as the staff member, had given us the wrong pitch.
As the site got very busy on the Friday night we had a trailer tent pitched next to us which was so close that we could touch it through our vans window
There was nowhere for children too play on the site so they were constantly riding round the site road with the cars and the arriving and leaving units. As an extra charge is made for children I would have expected a play area for them.
Likewise with an additional charge for dogs there was no walk on site for them and nowhere for them to do what they have to do other than somebodies pitch. Yes just outside the site is a footpath to the river and children's paddling pool but this is a public right of way and free for all to use so why the extra charge.
In general a really nice site and location just a shame they packed them in.

We had a lovely camp with a total of 5 families in the center of the main field. Although the pitches there were not exactly level, there were plenty of electric hook-ups and we were able to keep the children relatively contained.
I would say as a family site that they are missing a play area to focus the children's attention.
The shop was well supplied and the service was both efficient and friendly. The location for walking into Wallingford is excellent - although it would have been nice if there was a crosswalk for the children across the way.
As July has been incredibly rainy, it was impressive that there wasn't that much mud or soft ground at the site. The toilets are fantastic!

I have just returned from a two night break here. What a lovely site. Finding the site once in Crowmarsh Gifford isnt difficult and the speed humps in the town keep the traffic slow but there is a sign to indicate where it is.
We were shown to our pitch, which was nicely lawned grass and level. Water supply and bins were close by but did congregate children making it a bit noisy at times. I don't remember seeing a play area so that might explain things.
The toilets / showers were fantastic heated and none of the button pressing for showers! They were kept clean and very well looked after. My only gripe was I like 2 hooks in the shower cubicle but that is exceptionally minor, as the cubicle layout cant get your clothes wet.
Although, the campsite was very busy I did not queue for any of the facilities.
We used this site to visit the Henley Regatta. A regular bus service from Wallingford, 1st rate.
