Just back from two nights here, arrived late on friday night (had let them know we would be there around 8pm because they have a height barrier on the gate that they close around that time)

We found this to be a lovely site all round. The location is easy to get to (we approached from Crowmarsh Gifford, not sure what it would be like across the bridge from Wallingford)and perfect for walking into Wallingford (5mins) and the river.

Wallingford is a quaint little market town with a few shops, pubs, takeaways and a very handy Waitrose supermarket. We also enjoyed wandering through the Castle Meadows by the river, the site of a castle built by William The Conqueror in 1066 and the Castle Gardens. Free leaflets were available about the Castle and the kids loved hearing about it, I think there is a museum too but that will be something for us next time we go.

We had a Chinese takeaway from Hong Kong House which was recommended and ate at the Boat House by the river where the food was cheap and perfectly acceptable, maybe not for a special occasion!

The site itself is well laid out and although it was very busy it didn't feel it at all. There is a small shop for essentials and the toilet and showering facilities were very good and clean, my only problem was a lack of toilet paper in some cubicles almost every time I used the toilets. I noticed a baby change room and disabled bathroom too.

Children are very welcome and although there was no play equipment this didn't bother our 2 who just enjoyed playing on the grass. Having enquired about a leaving time we were able to take our time because being sunday there weren't many people arriving.

A really good site that I can't really fault at all and we will definitely be back.

We arrived at the Bridge Villa Camping and Caravan Park with the intention of staying for just 2 nights but ended up staying for 6. The site is in an excellent location within walking distance of the town, River Thames and bus stops. The site itself has excellent toilet and shower facilities and were spotless and lovely and warm when you walked through the door at any time of the day or night. There was also an excellent room for laundry and washing up. There are plenty of electric hook-up points and facilities for emptying toilets and grey water tanks. There is a small shop on site but it is only minutes to walk into the town.

There are excellent walks from the campsite and the buses take you directly into Oxford or Didcot and are very regular. The only problem we had was the signpost into the site was easy to miss as it is buried in the hedge. We would definitely visit this site again in the future and can thoroughly recommend it to other campers.

Brilliant new toilet/showers and facilities are to found on this very informal site.

On entering the site via a 2m security barrier (that has to be lifted before gaining entry for caravans and motorhomes) the lace fare attitude of the owner is refreshing. ‘Find yourself a pitch- most have hook-ups, we don’t have many rules just expect a bit of common sense’.

Site is enclosed with hedges and large trees providing shelter and screening. Levelling blocks are required a pitches are all grass.

Watch out for camping under trees as local birds/pigeons do enjoy using units and cars as toilets!

Little site shop caters for basics with Wallingford only 10 minutes’ walk over the bridge having shops, pubs, restaurants and Waitrose supermarket (very well stocked).

The adjacent field provides access to River Thames and has beach to launch kayaks. Lots of walks and cycling are available directly from site.

Clean and relaxing site which is in a great location ideal for exploring this area of the Thames Valley.

Very good with excellent facilities. Small quiet site in a good location.

Wallingford is very nice town - good pubs and shops -everything you need without getting in the car.

Shower block is very clean and efficient. Could do with extra washing up station - only got 2 - but always have hot water.

Outdoor pool across the road and the river - beautiful walks.

Can get the bus to Henley which is slightly bigger town with more restaurants and shops.

Small shop on site for basic needs - drinks, sweets, bacon, bread and tent pegs!

Arrived to a packed site on a Saturday, we were shown 3 - 4 spare pitches. We chose one but had to pitch at an angle, we had a large tent and one pod was nearing the campsite road. We did state we had a large tent on booking. After the weekend a lot of campers went home and there were plenty of pitches to choose from but we were not wanting to set up again.

Shower block was excellent and generally clean unless you go in after the morning crowd, which is expected. Lots of hot water. The washing area was nice and clean but only two sinks available but was only a problem at the weekend.

The local village is lovely and has all your needs. We found Waitrose ok but expensive so we found Tesco/Sains in Didcot a few miles away.

I have to second the Red Kites, they were lovely to see and kept circling above us, it was an awesome sight.

If I had a downside it would be the village clock that strikes every hour up to and including 11pm, which can be a bit annoying and the fact that RAF Benson is close by, as although we loved seeing the helicopters fly above us, it can be a slight nuisance late at night but they do stop eventually.

All in all a lovely little campsite and I would go again. Also it must be good cause our 13 yr old daughter said it was nice and she has high standards

A fantastic little site, just a five minute walk over the bridge from the village, on the banks of the River Thames. Lovely clean toilets and showers, with lots of hot water and then plenty of room to get dressed and stay dry.

The owner was really friendly, showed us to our pitch and gave us a choice even though they were really busy, always had time to say hello with a smile. Even though the site was really busy it never felt cramped or noisy and we had a great relaxing weekend.

Wallingford is a friendly village with some decent pubs, and Avanti restaurant is worth a visit if you like Italian. There are a couple of Chinese, a Thai and an Indian as well, plus the Dolphin pub does good food (though it can get busy). We didn't try the food in the other pubs, but there's plenty of choice of where to eat (and drink!).

It's also on the crossroads of the Ridgeway and the Thames Path so there's plenty of walking in the area. We didn't on this trip, but will be returning so the walking boots will definitely get used.

In summary, a gem of a site where you can park up and then forget about driving and just relax.

A great little site in a good location. Small shop next to reception selling the usual essentials that you've forgotten. The staff are very friendly and showed us to the pitch after showing where things were and giving us an info pack.

There is only one toilet/shower block but we never had to queue and it is spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water for showering, washing and pots.

It is only a short walk into town and the heated outdoor pool (£2. 60 and open til 6pm)is only 2 mins over the road.

If you like birds there are are loads of Red Kites in the area and I'm watching them really close and low fighting overhead whilst writing this at the site, brilliant.

Well recommended.

Visited for a short stay for the 3rd time, 2nd this year, and as usual had a great time.

The showers and loos are plentiful and clean, as is the washing up area.

Visited during the week this time and not many other people there so had choice as to where to pitch. If its busier, they take you personally to your pitch. Majority of pitches have hook-up, although I didn't use it.

Minutes away from Wallingford which is an amazing town, very useful shops-there is a Waitrose- and pubs.

The Boathouse was my favourite because its right on the river.

Walks along the Thames are flat and interesting. Please note, the Thames path starts on the same side of the river for both directions, behind the Boathouse pub for Benson, and up Thames Street for the other way.

Love this site

We arrived on a very wet Friday evening and were welcomed by the warden; he said that a number of people had cancelled due to the bad weather so the site was quiet and could pitch anywhere.

After pitching our tent and assisting my brother pitch his tent with his wife for the first time, we eventually settled.

The campsite is clean and tidy with fantastic modern showers, there does seem to be long term residents staying at the site and all were friendly, the pitches were generous and the site was more or less an oval shape, we prefer more of an open space but we didn’t feel cramped.

It is close to Wallingford around 10 minutes maximum to the centre; Crowmarsh has a small store and a couple of pubs.

There are a couple of open spaces but this may be down to the attendance levels, so if you have children I would advise going over to the paddling pool and play area across the road.

All in all a nice campsite

The best campsite I've visited in a long time. Visited with three other families, for a weekend.

Location fab as once you park the car you don't need to drive anywhere. Town, including Waitrose within walking distance. River Thames a stones throw away.

Nearby, outdoor heated swimming pool, also paddling/splash type smaller pool. Pubs nearby. Superb washrooms/showers. Only downside, our pitch was near the road, recommend request being elsewhere on site. Can't wait for return visit.

Wallingford itself is small and pretty, cobbled street behind main road, lovely cafe selling delicious cupcakes.
