We stayed for two nights Sunday and Monday, so it was reasonably quiet. We were on the end pitch by the toilets. Had a few choices of pitches. I should imagine it would be very busy weekends or school holidays, and the pitches did seem to be close to one another. The toilets and showers were lovely and clean, but there didn't seem to be many if it was busy. We liked it because of the proximity to Wallingford, just over the bridge and you were in the town with plenty of places to eat and drink. Ate at the Old Post Office which was very good. Also if you walk to the right outside the campsite, there are two pubs a short walk down into Crowmarsh Gifford, called the Queens Head, which looked good, and the Bell, which is a Hungry Horse, which is also good. Quite a few pubs are closed on a Monday evening for food.

Our first visit to this site was when we were doing the Thames Path - this time it was for more rest and recuperation. Having read other comments on cramming we simply emailed in advance with our request for a quiet area, away from families if possible. Not that we dislike children but just seek to avoid them.
We had an east facing pitch with a nice bit of shelter from the sun at times form a hedge at the back of us. We were adjacent to a waste collection area but also the water tap was very handy.
The facilities are first rate, the toilets and showers are always clean and no queues all weekend. The sluice rooms are the best I have ever used.
The addition of free wifi is a bonus.
We did several river walks, Grims Ditch, creepy Carmel College and the historic town walk - highly recommended.
Pubs - Queens Head just 5 minutes from the site (short cut from back of site); BoatHouse with 4 or 5 real ales each night; Coach and Horses beacme our favourite for the evening sun and somewhere (adjacent to Kinecroft green) for the dogs to run freely.
Restaurant - Avanti Italian - book early.
Will be back later in the Summer.

I last reviewed Bridge Villa in 2008 after our third visit there. Fast forward seven years and I felt it time to review again. We've been at least once every year since our first visit in 2006. Since 2011 we've added a third person to our camping party with our daughter. Our visits have changed now from a group of couples to family groups and we find the site works very well for us all. This year we returned with two groups of friends, booking in March it was nice to be remembered by the site owners and on arrival on the Friday lunchtime to be greeted by name. Our pitch was under the tail trees mid way down the site. A nice bit of shelter from the sun at times but a pain with bird poo on the awning! I see some complaints in other reviews regarding cramped pitches, but we have never found this a problem. Our group with two campervans and a large tent had plenty of space to set up as well as park two cars and pop a gazebo up for the kids to sit under, plus we had space behind to set up a BBQ well away from other pitches.
The rest of the facilities are first rate, the toilets and showers are always clean and I nobody in our group had to queue all weekend. There are only two sinks in the wash room, it just takes a bit of common sense to pick a time when its less busy to clean things. After a night time accident by her children, our friend was pleased to make use of the wash/dryers and had clean fresh sleeping gear for that evening. The addition of free wifi is very useful for entertaining tired kids with a bit of iplayer.
There is no on site play equipment for kids, but we brought enough stuff to keep ours amused and it is only a few minutes walk to the splashpool and the castle that offers an afternoon of fun. With Wallingford so close there is everything you need right there and for anything you forget the well stock shop on site usually has.
We already have at least one more trip back this year and hopefully a couple more as well

We have just arrived home after 7 nights at this lovely site. We couldn't really fault it - very friendly and helpful staff, one of the nicest shower blocks we have come across and a really nicely landscaped, well maintained site. We had asked for a sunny pitch and were given a spacious plot in the centre of the site, some of the pitches at the top of the site were quite shady due to the large trees. The site was busy at weekends but quietened midweek (even during the half term holiday)-there appeared to be several groups and the layout of the site meant that friends could easily pitch together without intruding on anyone else. We found the site very quiet at night and everyone was really friendly. There was quite an international feel to the site at times with quite a few dutch visitors amongst others. We loved the fact you could walk into Wallingford and the river and splash pool entertained our 2 children (the stationers in Wallingford sells large rubber rings which provided hours of entertainment floating on the river). The open air pool on the riverbank was lovely and warm but be aware that they have strict session times so check these out to avoid disappointment. We loved the walk to Benson lock along the river (around 1. 5 miles each way) and recommend the cafe a little further along (cross the wier and turn left along a residential lane and the cafe is on your left). We would happily return to this site and were reluctant to leave. This is a lovely area with masses to do and Bridge Villa provides a great base.

Visited this site during April and spent a week here.
Absolutely superb location with a very easy and picturesque walk into the town of Wallingford.
The facilities were to a very high standard and spotless.
Really good location for relaxing or for doing local walks from with some wonderful villages nearby.
Would recommend to anyone wishing to have a chill out holiday.

Overcrowded, so not much privacy from neighbouring campers. The planting of dividing hedges would help as well as cutting down on the number of pitches available. It seems that the owners are being greedy by cramming everyone in so close together. Could do with a re-vamp to incorporate a playground - perhaps at end of campsite. The site itself is well placed for the river, with lots of walks and bike rides and just over the bridge from the little historic town of Wallingford. Great shower facilities. Despite its ideal location, we would not return unless the above changes were made.

Has potential to be so lovely but unfortunately they really pack you in. Also think it is absolutely ridiculous that there are 2 washing up sinks - the queues were horrendous for the bank holiday weekend. Also gutted that the lovely area of grass that was free behind us for the children to play on was soon used to put even more tents in meaning there was no where for the children to play.
The site is lovely and the showers immaculate (although 4 showers = big queues!). You cannot beat the location to the Thames and Wallingford. Unfortunately though the lack of facilities and how close they crammed you in has really put us off and so we will not be returning.

Lovely clean site. Lovely grass pitches, helpful owners, nice and quiet. We live near enough to use it as stop over for a night away. We did this a couple of times last year and will be doing the same again. Really nice surrounding countryside and all the facilities near enough for an enjoyable stay. The pub overlooking the river is fabulous. This is by far my favourite place for some time to relax after a busy working week.

Pleasant site, relaxed site, reasonably quiet site. Excellent showers and toilets. Some really high tech shower controls. The owners live on site and seemed really helpful. The pitches are all grass and not totally flat, but perfectly adequate size. Position is great just minutes from the Thames, with Waitrose an easy walk, pubs and restaurants are also close by.
Check out Nuffield Place, the home of Lord Nuffield, a real 20th century time capsule.
Recommend Thai Corner restaurant, which surprisingly is actually in a cellar with low vaulted ceilings.
Only one point if you need one and have electric hook up, bring your own hair drier there are none in the shower blocks.

We will definitely be returning to this lovely campsite.
Spotlessly clean toilets/showers, easy booking in, nice flat site with easy pitching, near lots of pubs & restaurants, great location for visiting Oxford.
Regular users were friendly & quiet at night.
And amazing WiFi. Kids extremely happy with that fact!
Lots of surrounding villages to explore & National Trust properties to visit.
