We visited either side of the August bank holiday, having booked last-minute.
Good points -
Having to pay 20p for a 4 minute shower kept the queues down. The longest I waited for a women's shower was 10-15 minutes and that was only on 1 day. When I needed to wash my hair, I put 60p in at the start of the shower and had 12 minutes.
£19 a night, compared with £35 at our second choice site.
Facilities and grounds were very clean.
Lots to do in the area.
Disappointing points -
There seemed to be lots of groups of people camping together, which made for lots of noise in the evening. Some of this was fine - just people having fun. Some groups were absolutely foul-mouthed and that included their children.
Most women didn't bother to use the mop and bucket to clean the floor after they had used the shower and were happy to leave it dirty.
The disappointing points are not really about the site itself, just the people who came and went when we were there.

Very pleased to find a camp site that was 'tent' orientated and not a teeny tent area stuck amongst statics with bingo calling all night. The facilities were spot on, simple and clean and the pitch was nice and level.Quite a novelty for us! When we arrived around 7pm, the lady in reception hastily gave us our receipt and pointed out that all the site rules were on the back (it was about an inch square so it was a real pleasure to see that the rules were equally simple). We were shown via push bike to our site which was in the 'tent only' field. There were two other fields of touring caravans, but it wasn't a huge place so it felt friendly but not crammed in. The lady forgot to tell us anything about any of the facilities, but it didn't take us long to work out the shower needed a 20p. There were several types of bins on site for recycling which was good to see and as it was a working farm, it was lovely for any kids around to be able to see the goats and shetland ponies in their pens. Check-out wasn't til midday which is nice and late compared to other sites we've stayed on. Oh and the lady was very helpful about finding an Italian restaurant locally. She recommended the Tratoria on Bexhill seafront, but it was chocca so we went to the other italian literally round the corner which was fab! We'd stay on this site again.

As previously read on this website, the site was clean and well appointed. We had no problems with the showers or toilets (no queues or dirt) and the 20p charge for 4 mins water seemed to last for a whole shower. We did not have any problems getting the water to the right temperature.
The surrounding area is great. We spent a lot of time in Hastings and went to Bexhill. There was a detour on the road to Hastings, but it is easy to find your wat around it.
On another note, we did find the site rather too noisy for us. There seemed to be a flight path overhead (Gatwick or Heathrow I assume) which you notice from about 11pm onwards.
It is a farm, and so you have to be ready for a variety of animal noises, including the Cockerels that crows at about 5.00am each morning.

We stayed on this campsite for two nights and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and the campsite had its very own farm animals which is great for kids. Plenty of space and the toilet / shower blocks were immaculate. Little shop in the reception area which sold essentials.
Situated down a country lane this campsite was very peaceful (apart from the crowing cockerel in the mornings!) but did require the car for a trip into town. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if down that way.

This was our first visit to this site, along with our daughter and grandaughter. The owners were extremely helpful, the site was clean and everybody was very friendly. The location was perfect for Bexhill, Eastbourne, Pevensey and Hastings. I would recommend this site to anybody.
We had a hairy experience whilst trying to find the site. Our satnav and also an AA Route from the Internet advised us to turn left into Freezeland Lane and then right into Watermill Lane. Please ignore this and carry straight on until you see a sign for Watermill Lane on your left. This is the top of Watermill Lane and with a caravan is more suitable.

We spent a brilliant couple of nights at this site. It was our first camping trip and really didn't know what to take in terms of EHU equipment, so they kindly lent us a EHU Lead. Price per person per night was very reasonable. If there is one thing about this site, it is its (walking) distance from the nearest pubs, getting there wasn't a problem but the taxi's charge an arm and a leg to get you home (the taxi's are metered and more expensive than london) and it's quite dangerous to walk along this lane at night due to the speed of the traffic. They have a freezer that is available for your frozen stuff, but the shop is very small, but all in all a great time was had by all.

We have just spent five nights at this site on a last minute booking and to be honest the combination of good weather and great local attractions meant we had a great time. However I have to be honest and say that the site could do with some upgrading and tidying in places. There are supposed to be 55 pitches but we counted 83 and rising. The site only has three male and female toilets for general use and this is not enough along with only two chargeable and very poor showers plus a family room) again not enough. This is not helped by the fact that the owners seem to try and cram so many people in and boy are they good at it. They put a tent where ever they can and seem to have little regard for peoples space. The lady owner is very abrupt and not what I would call front of house, she seems to take great pride in her site and the numerous list of rules and extras which are displayed for your viewing.
The list of charges for extras are quite funny but £4 deposit and 10p for each of her ice block to take away is a little too much for most. She will not freeze you own blocks so be warned!
Wont go back again but for a couple of nights it would suit most.
Pity about the standards and the cramped conditions as this could be a nice place to stay.

Site was ok, toilet /shower block is quite small, with not enough showers in the ladies. There are some animals near the entrance for children to look at. The lady who showed us where to camp and sold us gas the next day offered no information at all about the site. The atmosphere on the site was a bit strange, no one really spoke to each other.
The site lacks character and its a bit like camping in your own back garden, however it is in a good position for visiting the coast.

Second visit to this campsite and again found it just as good as last year.
We stayed for a week and had a a mix of weather but so many places to visit filled our week well. Bodiam castle by steam train from Tenterden was a great day out. Bexhill and Pevensey beaches well worth a visit. Drusillas park is a fun down out for the children with a zoo and huge adventure area for the children to play. Newhaven fort was also a real hit with our children and was reasonably priced too.
Owners very friendly and helpful even gave us a kettle of boiling water when our gas bottle ran our on the last morning of our stay. Thank you. The thought of packing away without a cup of coffee would have made an even sadder departure we all agreed we could have stayed longer.
The play Park on the site is fantastic for children and gave our two children 8 and 5 the chance of freedom and they met lots of friends along the way. The animal area is a great hit with children we had to resist the temptation to buy the baby rabbits. They were all so lovely.
Pitches very spacious we used electric hook up and the pitch had plenty of shade in the morning which allowed a cooler tent when the sun was out.
Toilet and shower facilities were very good and we found showers hot and lasted long enough. A hairdryer in the women's toilets was very useful too. The family shower room was very useful for families with children to shower a good idea. Washing up facilities very good too.
Tesco superstore can be found in a retail park in bexhill very useful for all supplies.

As the last few reviews have said the showers are the biggest disappointment. 20p for 4 mins and over 2 mins to heat up if at all! As this is a 4 star site I would expect better. The electric hook up failed twice which was annoying.
If you have a caravan come in from Bexhil and watch for all the speeding nutters on the approach lane, very scary!
Enough of the bad, overall this was a very good and well maintained site. Very quiet at night and nicely partitioned with hedging etc. Owners were friendly and helpful and overall a good atmosphere. Happily go here again but please sort out the showers!
