As first time campers my wife and I were dubious as to whether camping would be for us or our children (7+10).
After a long journey in a well packed car (with a break down near Dartford thrown in) we arrived later than we had hoped to the friendliest reception we could of wished for. After the site rules had been briefed to us we followed Lynne as she showed us two different pitches and gave us the choice of the two.
The pitch's were all a good size and the field, although busy never felt cramped.
The shower block was only a short distance away and were very clean, the Family/Disabled shower room was ideal for our little family. The Gents/Ladies toilet blocks each had two showers in (although both ladies and gents had one out of order for the duration of our stay) and there were never queue's. The showers themselves were 20p for 4 minutes.
The children's play area whilst not massive was great for the kids and they enjoyed their daily visits to see the baby rabbits and the other animals.
The camp also has a little shop which is well stocked with every essential you could need. The prices are higher than Tesco's but not as expensive as I thought it would be.
There is also clothes washing and drying facilities in the shape of a large washing machine and tumble dryer to use at a small charge. In the same room there is 3 sinks for your washing up and an iron and board (again at a small cost) to use. Again this are was always clean and tidy had lots of useful info on the local area.
The local area is lovely, we've been coming to the Hastings/Bexhill area for over 10 years and we never get bored of it with lots of beautiful countryside and small old English villages. The campsite itself is far enough away from the busier towns to be nice and quiet but close enough for quick walks along the front after dinner.
In summary, my family and I loved Cobbs Hill, so much so we extended by one night and are already looking forward to a longer stay next year.

We have just spent a week on the site and had a great holiday, our children are aged between 12 and 3yrs.
The owners were very friendly and showed us where to pitch our tent.
There were just 3 toilets and 2 showers but they were always clean and there were never queues for them. 20p for the showers gave you 4 minutes so not bad and the staff cleaned them a couple of times a day, there was a family shower as well.
The shop on site was handy and the kids were always popping down there with their pennies to buy some sweets! There is a washing machine and tumble drier if you needed them and 3 sinks to wash up in.
The park was great for the children and ours were there most of the day or they were going to see the animals which was nice.
All in all we had a great time and would definitely go again.

Just had a week here at Cobbs Hill Farm. Ok. Owners seem very friendly, even helping to make sure our caravan was level when we first arrived.
Facilities are pretty good. Showers & Toilets cleaned often. Washing machine & dryer should you need one.
There are quite a few seasonal tourers on site which we found an issue when we first arrived as they didn't seem to quite like us having our van on there site. (even down to parking issue). We parked our van by our awning, when we went out and came back the guy next door moved his car to put it where ours was ! when we asked them where we were supposed to park as we had a car the other side of our van too we were told 'they need to move as Barry (site owner) likes car, caravan and awning'. Visit to reception and it was sorted. Just was an issue that put a dampner on things. Maybe we should of been told when the guy helped level the van up about parking but the lady owner told us they wasn't that strict on it. That's fine but not at £23 a night and having to argue where to park our car
Kids - my boys are 12 and 8 and were bored most the time. Park was very small and not much to do. Some animals on site but you couldn't get near them.
You need a car to get anywhere really as Eastbourne and Hastings a short journey away. Small shop on site but they don't do much. I believe you can order newspapers but this will cost you 5p to get them from the village shop.
Dog friendly site and Cooden beach is fab for the dogs which is only about 10 mins drive away.
Would I come back. ???? No I don't think so. Based on there isn't much to do here for the kids.
Site in general is clean and pleasant and quiet at night, so if you want a quiet site then maybe this would suit you but for kids. Be prepared for them to be bored. Costs were average £23 per night and an extra £2 for bank hol monday :0/

Nice quiet camp site, with four flat fields. Some hard standings. Some static caravans as well.
Fairly cheap £15/night with hook-up (low season).
The shower block was clean. Has a family/disabled shower which anybody can use if unoccupied. Good idea as charge 20p for a 4 min shower but me and my husband managed to both shower for 20p ! Good idea for saving water though.
Bit of a hike to Bexhill(1hr 15min walk). Nearest pub and shops in Sidley about 1/2 hr walk.
Owners have little maps with local footpaths.
Nice play area for kids and small menagerie on site.

This was the 3rd year in a row that My wife and I plus our 2 kids have stayed on the site. We have also had two other families plus their kids with us too each time.
Each year has been great and we will certainly be going again next year without fail.
The site is quite small but has plenty of room for the kids (ranging from 3 to 7 years old) to ride their bikes and scooters around.
The park seems to cater for their needs too as they are always at it, especially when its bed time!
The surrounding trees really shelter the site well from wind meaning you can happily relax and cook without things getting blown all over the place.
The owners are both very nice and generally escort you to your pitch especially if its your first or second time there.
The animals on site are also a hit with the kids and are a place they have to visit every morning and every night.
The campsite facilities are always very clean and convenient to all pitches.
The nearby beaches and local facilities are also well worth a visit with plenty of stuff for the kids to do.
So, all in all, we are a group of parents in our 30's, that all have young children. We stay in our tents and caravans, get a bit more camping equipment each year, and love cobbs hill!

Booked last minute, the owners were friendly and accommodating for us first timers.
The site - divided by hedges, very few of us there so lots of space and most seemed to have electric hookups. Mature trees and seemed generally in a pretty good state for so late in the season. The grass looked a bit run down, but then so does my lawn at this time of year. A separate dog exercise area was good.
For kids - the play ground has a mini balance assualt course, a slide, a roller, a basket swing and two other swings and a frame with nets and rope climbers within it's own separate field. Agree that probably suited best to 4/5+ but my 3 year old found plenty to do (but would have been out of his depth if it was busy). Around the farm are a pig, two ponies, chickens which the kids loved. The chickens produce the eggs for the small shop on site (milk etc)
Facilities - first impressions were that it was a bit worn around the edges generally but very clean. There is a wash area with two washing machines and sinks etc. The showers areas aren't heated but there is a family shower and washing room, men and women which take 20 p to use. The water was hot and the facilities clean.
Location - don;t be put off by the outskirts of bexhill when you drive from the site, keep going and it's nice. Big stony beach, coffee shops, promenade and a reasonable town centre that feel safe and look clean and well kept.
Friendly around the place and plenty of parking. There's a large leisure complex (supermarkets, bowling etc) around 5 minutes away. Search for blackberry farm on google which is close, bodiam castle etc are all reasonably near and obvioulsy battle and hastings.

The grounds are lovely with farm animals such as horses, chickens, goats, rabbits. The owners are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. There is a shop in reception fairly priced which stock the essentials, bread, milk, toiletries sweets etc.
We stayed in the family field which has huge trees all the way round and blocks the winds nicely. Next to the family field is a wooden playground which is very well kept and up to date, my children had so many hours of fun in there.
The toilet blocks are nice, clean and well looked after and the showers are very good too. There is a family/ disabled room too which has a shower and toilet in the same room.
There is also a covered washing up room which has hot water and drying racks. We found these very useful.
Hastings is a short drive away and so are the shops, supermarkets and pubs etc.
We can't wait to come back to cobbs hill farm the other campers are friendly and it's a lovely place in general :0)

We only camped for one night, to practice with our tent before a longer trip, but we are so glad that we chose this campsite, and are planning on going back next year for a longer visit.
The owners were very friendly, even when we asked them to check the electric hook-up, and it turned out it was our bulb that was blown! Our 19 month old loved the animals, although the children's play area could do with some toddler friendly equipment. It looked great fun for slightly older kids though.
The toilet block was clean and had good facilities. As we were only there for 1 night I didn't use the shower, but it looked clean, and there's a hairdryer in the ladies block. There's a separate washing block for washing up and some laundry facilities.
Bexhill-on-Sea is lovely - a stony beach with sand a few metres down the tideline. There's a promenade, and shops with beach stuff and ice creams. Bexhill also has a Sainsbury's which is open on Bank Holidays - good for replacing lightbulbs!
We can also recommend an excellent pub on the main road between Bexhill and Pevensey, called the 'Lamb Inn'. Really good family friendly atmosphere and great food. Beer garden.
Overall, 1 night not enough, and we are looking forward to a return visit.

We spent 3 days here over the August bank holiday weekend. As you’d expect for the bank holiday the site was full and busy. We liked the site, it’s generally well kept and low key.
Pro’s
- Our pitch was a good size.
- The fields are divided up by trees and hedges (I can't stand sites that are just a huge field)
- The tents weren’t as crammed in as I’d seen at other sites.
- Our kids really liked the animals and the playground.
- The individual fields aren't lit at night, meaning that we had some lovely starry nights.
Con’s
- Our pitch was a bit muddy; in fairness it had been the wettest week of the wettest August for a few years (and we were given a choice of a drier pitch).
- The site was fairly noisy, but it was a bank holiday weekend. However it was quiet by 11pm.
In short – we had a good time and would go back.

This is our 2nd camping trip to a 'proper' campsite (ie. Not a festival) and found it a well laid out and friendly site.
The was a field for caravans/motorhomes, another field that was mixed with tents (presumably for groups with different units who wanted to be together) and a tent field. Electric hook up available too.
The pitch as level and a good size. We were able to get our 7m x 5m Arkansas 7 on it (with a small daily supplement). From what I saw there was hardstanding for motorhomes etc.
The toilet block is at the front of the 1st field but still not too far for other fields. It was clean, warm and tidy. Although there were only 2 showers in each of the mens and ladies, I never queued and I was showering around 8. 30am each morning. The showers are 20p for 4 minutes and I managed to shower and wash (shoulder length) hair with one 20p!
There is a separate family shower area which was great.
The kids loved the playground and spent every moment there when we were on site. They made friends with lots of children which was really nice. They also like the small farm area where they could see the animals.
It is a really nice uncomercialised campsite with a small shop where you can order your morning paper and hire freezer blocks (10p).
He site is well positioned for the local area and we even ventured to Camber beach (45 mins) to spend the day there and it was gorgeous.
All in all a great little site!
