Stayed from Friday - Sunday in May 2008. Had a great time. Felt it was safe enough for my 19 month son to run around freely. Toilet/shower block clean and close by. Nice with the animals there too for children to look at and the play area basic but good to have something there.
Went into Bexhill on Sea on Friday night for a curry at the Basmati - one of the best curries I have had in a while. Everything else a short drive away.
Hastings a short drive away for something to do during the day/night if you want to get out of the site.
All in all would go again.

Nice, reasonably priced, rural campsite just outside of Bexhill, East Sussex. Good location for exploring places such as Eastbourne, Beachy Head and Hastings. The site was very peaceful (well away from any main roads), had a relaxed, informal, friendly atmosphere. We extended our stay from three to four nights because we were having such a good time.
The site shop stocks bread, milk, a few tins (beans, peas, etc) plus sweets for the children and offers their freezer blocks on loan for a nominal fee (50p deposit per block, plus 10p or 20p per block for use). There is a small Co-op and Lidl 5 minutes drive away, and plenty of takeaways and off-licences.
The site itself is quite basic, but adequate. We arrived during a fairly quiet time just after the August bank holiday and could pitch where we wanted within a field the owner specified. There are only two showers available for each sex, and I did see two or three people queuing in the ladies' block in the mornings. There is also a large shower room for disabled or families which was brilliant. Showers are 20p for 5 minutes. I saw the toilets and showers being cleaned every day and they were very clean, not too many cobwebs either!
There is a large field containing some play equipment for children (swings/slide/climbing frame/rotating barrel) where the children congregated. It's at the back of the site, well away from the nearest road (which is a country lane) so it felt very safe. On the second night we stayed there was some noise from the play area until around 11.30pm from some older children, but overall there was quiet after about 10/10.30pm.
There is a small viewing area for some animals - guinea pigs, rabbits, goats plus a horses field.
The tent fields were level although the grass could have done with a cut. We arrived a few days after a prolonged period of heavy rain, but the pitches were well drained and not muddy at all.
Cobbs Hill Farm obviously have a lot of satisfied customers because the two families pitched either side of us have visited there several times.
Overall, this is a great no-frills campsite and is ideally suited to families. We would recommend it and would definitely go back.

Cheap and cheerful site, well laid out, friendly and helpful staff. Toilet block clean but often a queue, showers cost 20p. Good access to water and right alongside a public footpath across the fields. Small shop on site, nice indian restaurant nearby on St Leonard's seafront.

Have just returned from a 3 night stay in Cobbs Hill Farm lovely, relaxing site. We chose it as it was our 1st time away in our folding camper and we wanted to check that camper and awning worked and it was about an hours drive from our house so if we needed anything we could have got it.
The owners were friendly and helpful they run a small shop on site that is open from 8am untill late that you can order your papers from and buy milk ect: theres a nice play area for the kids our 3 spent all day it it :).
The facilities were clean and also catered for the disabled the showers take 20p pieces and 20p last 5 mins more than adequatewith excellent pressure .
There is also a good dog walking area and a little viewing area for the kids with guinea pigs and goats to see.
All in all a very good first experience and I would go there again :)

Just returned from a week here. Overall impression of site is that it is quiet, clean and in a nice rural setting but within easy reach of shops and the sea. A good location for days out in Sussex and Kent and lots to do in the surrounding areas. We had excellent weather the week we were there. We visited Battle Abbey, Bodium castle, Bexhill beach and town and Hastings. Also went further afield to Worthing and Brighton to visit relatives. Tescos , KFC, Macdonalds and other shops nearby on a retail park. Some smaller shops and takeaways about 5 minutes away by car. Pitches were good, more or less put the tent where you wanted within the area we were located. Play park kept my 2 youngest children amused, and they loved the animals in the small animal area. Owners friendly and helpful. It was very busy whilst we were there, almost every pitch occuopied at some point, and we did have to queue for showers and toilets and to use the washing up facilities.( only 3 sinks to wash up in). There only seemed to be 2 female and 2 male showers and 3 toilet cubicles in the female toilets. One of the female showers gave you five minutes for 20p, the other only gave you four minutes. The family shower room was in constant use. It did seem that there were quite a few times when some of the toilets had no toilet paper, but we did see the toilets being cleaned very regularly, especially last thing at night and late morning. The gates to the site are locked at 11.30pm and this made us feel safe and the site became quiet after this time. I would visit this site again but feel a few more washing up sinks, toilets and showers would be useful especially during the height of the season.

This was the first camping trip for my 4 yr old daughter, and she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She thought the play area was fantastic and really enjoyed seeing the animals. The tent pitches are level and are really secluded and protected from the elements. The toilet blocks are clean, and the bins on site are emptied regularly. All in all, a very lovely site and I would certainly re-visit and recommend to others.

Lovely camp site in the rural outskirts of Bexhill. we were so impressed with the relaxed atmosphere and camping next to a sheep field with ponies and chickens nearby was great. There was also a little viewing area for the kids with gineapigs and goats to see. The weather was absolutely awful the weekend we went so only stayed one night but prices were really good and facilities all seemed new or certainly spruced up, clean and tidy. A great family shower room plus plenty of toilets (it was very empty due to the weather) Great childrens park area with slide, roundabout, swings etc and it was right by our non electric field so the kids loved it, even if it was raining. Not sure about the local facilities as we took what we needed and came home before needing to buy anything else because of the weather. if you want a nice relaxed holiday away from it all then I think this park is perfect and we will definitely try and go again but maybe when its sunny!

Visited this site over bank holiday. Nice flat sheltered pitches, found owners to be very helpful and pleasant. Facilities adequate, showers hot enough, floors a bit grassy but that can't be helped. Very good dog field. Weather was dreadful so only stayed one night instead of two but would certainly go back again without hesitation.

This is a lovely, relaxing site. Chose it as it's handy for visiting relatives. It is a very relaxed atmosphere there. We found the toilets clean at all times and lit at night! There is a large play area at the top of one of the fields where all the kids seemed to congregate but they all got on. Not having a dog, we were only aware that there was a dog walking route behind where we were camping. It was a peaceful stay and tehre were afew animals that the kiddies liked to watch. All in all, would go back again, very happy with teh small size and quiet atmosphere. All we heard at night were probably hedgehogs!

Have just returned from a 2 night stay in Cobbs Hill Farm - overall a lovely well run, well maintained and professional site. We were part of a mixed group of 4 couples with plenty of space in a pretty tree lined field. Pitch price of £9.50 reasonable. Facilities were perfectly clean and enough facilities for the number of guests. Showers take 20p pieces and 20p last 5 mins more than adequate with excellent pressure and temperature to boot. A good variety of friendly animals on the farm too. Only recommendation would be to have more recycling facilities available. Location is very quiet - no nice pub within a reasonable walking distance and Bexhill town itself appears quite 'tired'. Lots to do within 30 minutes in the car. That said, I have a couple of reservations I feel I should share. Firstly, on the first night 3 horses ran through the campsite having come free from their paddock - a bit of a worry in a nylon tent! Secondly, on the second morning we were accused by one owner of burning her logs on our BBQ when in fact we had purchased a wood/wax log from Tesco in the retail park specifically designed to be smokeless and to be burnt on BBQ's. It is clear that open fires are against the campsite rules. However, the owner didn't accept this so to have my word questioned as a paying customer has left a bad taste in my mouth and I would not return. That said, on the balance of services and the other reviews seem fair - this is good site - a worthy 3.5 out of 5.
