As first time campers we found this site to be very user friendly. The owners were friendly and helpful. The site was very relaxed with a lovely play area, clean toilets and showers and a basic but clean washing area. Surroundings were lovely but the neighbouring cockerels did wake us very early! Had a lovely circular walk near the site which was easy enough for two small children. Driving distance from the seafront. All in all a very good first experience.

Cobbs Hill Farm is a very pretty little site in a rural setting. There’s a small area put aside for non-EHU campers. The camping areais long, thin and divided by small hedges and trees, so you get a good feelingof privacy. We went late in the season and the site was near empty. I’d imagine the site gets quite busy during peak season. There is a play-park just off the camping field, which the children loved; although I’d imagine there could be quite a lot of noise from it during busier times. The children found loads to do and kept themselves busy, which is always good. We went to Bexhill-on-Sea during the day. It’s no more than ten minutes drive and parking is easy. The beach itself is nice, but I wasn’t particularly taken with the town. There is a chippie in town, but this is a drive and not a walk. We were only at Cobbs Hill for a weekend, so we never explored the surrounding area.

Stayed 2 nights, fairly easy to find if you have a map, the site itself is not signposted so you'll need to look out for it. Staff were helpful and there was a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Not an awful lot for the children to do but there is a fair sized park closeby with slides, swings and other bits and pieces which kept them amused for the most part of our visit, lots of people there, our area was almost full, there were a lot of children there and they played until around about an hour after dark which I didn't think was too bad. Although there are no marked out areas for pitching, there are separate areas for caravans and for tents. Showers are 20p, the cubicles are a bit cramped, no bigger than a toilet cubicle and the one I used gave me 5 minutes of tepid water from a somewhat feeble shower, the look a bit old and well-used but clean enough, if you can put up with that then there really isn't much else to complain about. Bins are emptied regularly and the wash facilities are cleaned 2-3 times a day. Perfect site if you want somewhere off the beaten track, we may well return next year

The site is split into several fields. We were shown to the one nearest the play area as we have 3 children, but were given a choice of two pitches. The owner went to the trouble of helping me reverse onto the pitch, and he then helped me get the caravan level as the site is slightly sloping. The whole site is clean & tidy. The toilet block is kept spotless and rubbish is collected regularly. There are 3 toilets and 2 showers in the gents. There is a separate area with a sink for dish washing and a sink for clothes washing, and a washing machine and dryer. The showers and washing areas are coin operated - 20p. There is an Elsan point near the toilet block and a games room. The cost per night is very reasonable and there are plenty of activities in the area. We approached the site from the south side - don't be put off by the 6'6" width restriction sign - there are no bollards, but the lane narrows down with passing places in the narrowest points. Although we didn't approach the site from the north - we were told that it is much narrower. There are a few farmyard animals around which the children can look at. The shop sells basic things like milk, drinks, sweets and a few camping accessories. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would go back again.

Visited the site this weekend and we thought it was excellent. The site had a really nice atmosphere. You were left to pitch your tent where and how you wanted it. There are no size limits at this site. The facilities were on the basic side but were clean and cleaned a couple of times a day. The site is also cheap as well! We will definitely be returning soon!

Lovely quiet family site, level with some shade. Because our family of four occupied 2 small tents we were charged £13.50 which is more than a caravan & awning. Showers are now 20p. May well return but with only one tent. We visited Bateman's, Rudyard Kipling's home at Burwash.

We visited this site as a group of dads & kids and had an excellent bank holiday weekend. Thanks to the weather being unsettled the site was not too busy but 70-80% full all the same. It appears to have a full range of facilities for caravans etc . we were in tents so did not use hook-ups etc. The site is rural and quiet and nicely broken into smallish fields. There is a spacious play area in the centre which the kids made good use of. Bexhill with shops etc is 5 mins away . many beaches (recommend Cooden) are 5-10 mins away. Drusillas Zoo is great for kids (20 mins away). lots of sightseeing in Battle, Hastings, Rye etc. Booking was easy, facilities were fine . 2 showers in mens, 20p a shower - it was perfectly adequate. Separate area for exercising dogs. We would/will definitely return especially as we know and love the area.

September 2005 After a nightmare night at Camber Sands we headed to this site which had been recommended by friends.
The site is split into a number of fields, and as it was quiet we could drive around and choose where we wanted to pitch. We went next to the kids play park to keep the boys (aged 4 and 2) happy.
As the name suggests the site is on a slight hill although any incline was not noticable. The toilet and showers we immaculate although with only four showers (10p) I think you might have to wait if the site was busy.
The site owners were friendly and ran a small shop which stocked the very basics, including 20p bags of sweets which were a great hit. Our only criticism would be that there was no where to freeze ice blocks although you could hire them from the shop.
At £7 a night we thought this was an excellent clean, quiet and child friendly site and will definitely be back.

March 2005 We are a family of three with a six year old boy and love this campsite. We have been five times in the last few years.
The site owners, Barry & Lynne, are a friendly couple who we have found easy-going and helpful. They lent us an extension lead for our hook-up on our last visit and have on several occasions offered advice on the local area and directions. I am sure that they would do all they can to assist their guests if asked. The general feel of the campsite is always a friendly and comfortable environment.
The site is split into four compact fields with level pitches, most pitches have electric hook-ups and there is plenty of space. There is a well equipped and safe children’s play area at the back of the site which is popular with the kids. Also the ponies, sheep and goats are an obvious hit.
The toilet block is always well maintained and is cleaned on a daily basis. It is an adequate size, although I would imagine that in the height of the season there may be an occasional wait for the showers in the mornings as there are only two available in each of the male and female washrooms. The shower costs 10p a time and provide just about enough hot water to wash and rinse…but don’t get too comfortable!
The campsite is well situated with local shops a couple of minutes drive away and a Tesco’s and Sainsbury’s not much further on. Bexhill-on-Sea, Hastings and Battle are a short drive away with Rye a little further (but only about half an hour and definitely worth a look).
We have just returned from our Easter break at Cobbs Hill Farm and were joined by a family of friends with three young lads who we had recommended the site to. They all enjoyed their first stay. It’s only days since we returned home and we are now talking about returning later in the summer.

March 2005 We had a lovely Easter at Cobbs Hill Farm. Lots of room, for both the TT and the children. One of the residents very kindly organised an Easter Egg hunt for all the children and they had a fantastic time running all over the campsite for about 45 minutes, and came back triumphantly with a bag full of sweets and chocolates. They are still working their way through the bag now. Only 10 minutes from Hastings. Shops a couple of minutes drive away, including Lidl. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and even the weather was better than expected. The showers were long enough for 10p, but as I have long hair, it took 20p when I washed it, but that was a very small negative from a big list of positives. I am hoping to return again at least once more this year.
