This is our third visit to this site, last time was during the World cup. There is a lovely pub on site, the food was excellent. The people are friendly, they remembered us from our last visit. The views are Fantastic. Howarth is a nice place to have a walk around, it's also has a Steam railway. It was £29 for the weekend, there is a key fob for the showers(£10 deposit).Showers are 50p,they are clean if a little dated. It was a really relaxing enjoyable weekend and we will be returning again. We love this site

Just returned from a 2 night stay in a tent at Upwood Holiday Park with my wife, 2 kids aged 6 and 2 and the dog. First off, the location of the park is fantastic, right on top of the hills near to Haworth so as you would expect the views are spectacular to say the least.
There is a fob operated security barrier which is in operation at night. The check in was pleasant and plenty of information was given from the warden about the site and surrounding area as well as his recommended location to pitch the tent close to the play area for the kids.
On arrival at the pitch, noticed it was well drained and not boggy at all even though the area had seen a lot of rain recently. The play area was fantastic for my young kids with shredded rubber floor which great for any falls and accidents.
The shower / toilet block was great and clean with music playing which was nice and the launderette and washing up area was fine for us although could be a bit small in the busy months with only one dirty dishes sink.
There is also a bar on site which serves food and next door is a games room with pool tables and arcades for the kids. There is a small shop on site which sold the essentials and the site is only 5 minute drive into Haworth where there is a Spar for any other groceries.
Also in Haworth is a Steam Railway where we tried and was great for the kids although a little expensive.
The site itself at £17.50 a night with EHU was a tad dearer than some others but I thought was well worth that little bit extra. We had a great 2 nights stay and would definitely return and would recommend to others.

I've stayed at this site several times since I have friends and family in Haworth and this is a really great site. It's very scenic and well kept and has an amazing toilet block.
There's a small but well stocked shop on site, a games room, pub with some evening entertainment and the management are all very friendly.
For Dog owners there's a gate at the bottom of the site taking you onto the neighbouring moors where you can exercise your dog.
The site is located up a fairly steep moorland hill but is accessible for most units and caravans. The site itself is level though as it's at the top of the hill.
There's a bus stop located right outside the site where a little hopper bus runs from and this is helpful getting to and from the village centre as it's very hilly and really only walk able for the able bodied.
Parking in the village at busy weekends can be a bit problematic and there are some really ruthless clampers operating on the car park opposite the Edinburgh Woollen Mill. The last time I was there I saw them clamp a vehicle with an elderly gentleman sat in the passenger seat!
Haworth's a great little village to visit, lots of interesting little shops, pubs, takeaways, some lovely walking and of course, there's steam railway running through the heart of it. For something different, check out the railways Pulman weekends and enjoy a lovely dinner on board.
Great site and location, love this one.

The site's location is breathtaking and very convenient for Howarth. However the approach is difficult if towing. The staff were welcoming and efficient and we wished we could have stayed for a breakfast at the weekend! We did not use the bar or restaurant. We liked the clean toilets and Radio 2 but do not appreciate paying extra for showers especially in poor weather when they attract people sheltering from the rain (despite the ingenious security locks). There were also, curiously, insufficient sinks for washing pots, causing unwelcome queuing. Although open-plan, the site was very well kept for a tent. We also noticed that all caravans were firmly strapped down - because the downside of the site is the howling and frightening gale which we endured. We also were unfortunate to choose a holiday period which attracts lots of children, although most were well-behaved. We would visit again, but avoid school holidays and pray for good weather!

We have recently stayed at this campsite and I have to say I was very surprised by all the positive reviews.
The cost of £19.50 a night for Campervan with electric hookup was on the higher side of reasonable. Especially when you have to pay for showers and all the washing facilities. The reasoning behind the payment of showers was that they wanted to limit the amount of water used. Couldn’t they just put a token system in place? The showers themselves are adequate at best. In the male shower block they had 3 showers for 160 pitches so queuing each morning was common place. The shower units are grubby and could do with updating.
If you’re visiting this campsite I'd try and make it during the week. At the weekend it becomes very noisy with kids running around to all hours. I don’t mind this but when my tent awning was damaged at 11.00pm on the Saturday evening it started to get out of hand. In defense of the staff here I have to say they took this very seriously when I mentioned it to them. The focal point of the noise comes from a couple of families that have permanent pitches so expect this most weekends!
The campsite itself is in a good location for visiting the surrounding countryside and Haworth is a great little village to visit. If you’re thinking of staying here make it mid week outside of holidays and you should have a pleasant time.
To finish on a positive note I have to say the staff are very efficient and helpful and the location of the site is great!

Hi just returned from a weekend away on this wonderful little gem of a site.
Fairly easy to find if a little awkward to get to, great amenities clean and very well kept. Bar on site along with small games room and little shop.Well spaced places so you didn't feel cramped in, plenty of room for caravan awning and car etc.
Play ground for the kids to play and there was plenty of other areas for them to enjoy themselves. There are a few hardstandings if wanted, and there is a security barrier to get in and out of the site.
50p seems a lot for a shower for 3 mins, but the cubicle's are big enough for two to share (wife and my young son) ?
However ! I agree with previous comments about the bar, the locals don't like your sort around here, feeling was present. This didn't bothered us as we aren't drinkers.
There is no separate waste / elsan disposal. (just elsan ?) you have to lift your waste water up on top of the toilet to get it emptied. This I feel is an oversite and can quite easily rectified, if it is sorted the I think this would be major plus.
One other downside was we felt as if there was a few, shall we say travellers! on site. Which put us uneasy.
In my honest opinion I really wanted to like this site it has a lot going for it, but we came away feeling a little let down.
Having said that we shall return and decide upon the second visit, to compare.

Very nice site, we will go back, clean, tidy, evening entertainment was great, site ticks all the boxes, only problem was we wasn't allowed to take the old landrover to where we was pitching tent, could understand if was a builders van or something with with writing / advertising on.
But apart from that, had a great weekend. Walked into Haworth and tried out a few pubs.As on most sites, was woken at 5am by children.

Stayed in the pods for 2 nights while visiting friends. They were nice with a decking out front to sit on. It has to be said it was a struggle to get 2 double air beds in but we just about did it. Thought the showers were ok, but its a shame you have to pay 50p for the pleasure.
Nice little club house on site with decent prices for the beer. The views from this site are breath taking and the walking around this area is good for man and dog. Overall I thought this site was nice and would visit again.

Found the site without too much trouble, did go slightly wrong on one of the roads. The view from the site is lovely.
The pitch we were on was in B area next to the Play Area, which looked very good.
As in previous posts the site is full at weekends due to the statics and the permanent tourers on site and it was very busy.
I didn't rate the toilet facilities at all. The ladies had 4 showers, 2 of which were out of order. They just seemed dated and old and needed a bit of a revamp. The 50p payment for showers and hairdryers was a bit steep I felt. We didn't use the washing up facilities.
You have to lift your waste water to empty it into the chemical disposal toilet which is a big pain if it's full as ours was and I'm not much use to assist due to a bad back.
Didn't use the bar, popped our head in and it was empty.
The staff seemed very pleasant, with the warden stopping to ask if we were okay.
Haworth is lovely and we had 2 gorgeous meals in the Black Bull Pub, which allows you to take your dog inside.
Not a bad site if they did a few improvements!

Just returned from a lovely 5 day trip staying in the new 'Pods'. We went as a group of mums with 9 children between us aged between 5 and 13. The pods were immaculately kept and had a socket, heater and lighting in and was extremely cosy at night, as a tent camper normally this was a nice change and as a previous visitor to upwood was still as pleased with the site as the past two occasions.
The bathrooms were nice and were cleaned and loo roll in etc you need 50p for the shower and get about 3 minutes.
The park was well used by the children and everything was well kept and looked after.
I was impressed to see the owner doing a walk around the site after dark to check that everything was ok.
We have another pod trip planned for July and I for one cant wait !
