Spent just one night at Upwood and found it to be a nice site especially as it was so reasonably priced. There was a rather large group a little way from us and the noise levels shall we say were not kept to a minimum. We could hear the swings creaking at 2am. The toilets and showers were clean and the radio which plays constantly is a nice touch when you are in the loos late at night. There was only one dishwashing sink which I had to queue for but on the whole I was fairly impressed and for the money it is worth a visit.

Lovely campsite! Nice even grass. Good play area that kept my children busy. Nice and clean showers and toilets (do get busy first thing in the morning). Will definitely pay a return visit. Very competitively priced.
Went with several relations and they made sure we were altogether even though we had tents, trailer tents, and caravan, very accommodating. A nice treat for the kids was the ice cream van that came on the campsite.
Cannot comment on the pub as we didn't go. The older kids used the pool table in the amusements which was free (not sure if this was because it was faulty but the kids were happy). Highly recommend nice base to explore the picturesque area.

This was our first ever campsite, and was a trial run as it was fairly close to home. Our pitch was very good, near the toilet blocks, showers and toilets were clean but a bit draughty. There is an on-site bar which we visited, it was karaoke night which was amusing, and the place was full! The site is a bit remote, you need to drive down to Oxenhope for something else to do, although amazingly a small bus goes past the site entrance Shop has limited stocks, but it is all eco-friendly stuff, which is good Overall a good place, although I am sure it can get pretty cold up on that hill!

All the family have been camping now for 2 years and this is the best site we have been to, for the price, the friendly staff and people that live there and the club house is fantastic. The only problem at the moment is if the winds get up your tent will get battered, but Frank the owner as said it is next in his plans to sort us tenters out. The views and the atmosphere at upwood make up for just the little fault of bad winds that is no ones fault.
Shower block is the best ever and believe me we have been to a lot of sites as we try different ones every time we go. You get plenty of hot water and they are powerful, and no matter what time of day you go the toilets and shower block is always warm when you go in.

Highly recommended the site was fantastic. This was the first time in year I had been camping, I took along my three young daughters who all enjoyed the weekend. Everything was available on site, and above all it was safe for the kids. I felt at ease letting them explore on there own, plenty of things to do for everyone. Very high standards so give it a visit! oh yes a bar! yippee

Just returned from an overnight stay at this site. What a weekend despite the weather. The owners were brilliant, very helpful nothing was too much trouble.Excellent value for money The club house had live entertainment, kids enjoyed indoor playroom and the play area was great as well. Toilets were spotless and plenty of hot water. Had a 2 course meal (Carvery and Apple Pie and Custard) £5.95 Will return here many times as it's so close to home as well

Just spent one night here and we thought the site was excellent. The toilets and shower block were very clean and there are plenty of showers costing 50p for a long warm shower.
The grounds are well kept and the views from the site are excellent. We have a small baby so were unable to get a taxi due to them not having a car seat but we didn't find this a problem as it was a 45 minute walk down hill to Howarth and a short bus ride back to the campsite. The only downside was a few loud boozy inconsiderate campers walking back from the clubhouse in the small hours but this didn't put us off.
Well worth a visit.

May 2005 Just got back from camping at Upwood, we were in a tent and had a great time. We went on a Monday and Tuesday night so we were the only tent and it was lovley and peaceful. The owner was very friendly, and the shower block was lovley and warm and clean. The price for the shower was 50p but you got a decent amount of time and the box to put your money in was in the shower room so if you ran out you could put another 50p in.
There's some lovely walks from the camp site, we walked into Howarth it took us about 40 minutes, but there were lovely views. Then we went on to Oxenhope and then back up the hill which is quiet steep, but had a great day.
We went to a local pub at night called The Lamb and had a lovely meal it took us about 35 min to walk it but we got a local taxi back which cost £4, back up the hill.
We will be going back again to Upwood we had a really good time.

September 2004 Not long been a caravan owner, just a couple of months now. It's a little late on in the the year for good weather but Upwood Touring Park is one of the best places I've been to for stunning views and friendly people. The on site club (open on the weekend, entertainment on Saturday and I think bingo on Sundays) is nice with good food and drink at very reasonable prices, a good childrens area with plenty of space.
The facilities are very good, dish / clothes washing and drying etc... water points / waste points / elsan points. The site is gently sloping and well looked after (been to some sites lately where there is hardly any grass).
I would recommend this park to couples and families for a lot of fresh air but if you need to shop there's a late shop 2 mins by car, a Morrisons 10 mins by car and Halifax centre about 15 minutes by car.
My family and I will all be returning here quite a bit I think. Not seen better yet.

September 2004 This is a well-organised, family friendly site with stunning views over Haworth, some good facilities and a small area for tents to pitch, the site being predominantly for static and touring caravans.
The drive down from the North East was lovely, passing through some very picturesque scenery and, on this occasion, with lovely weather. The temperature dropped somewhat at around Silsden, nothing to do with the weather – that was the point I told my wife I’d left the calor gas bottle at home!
As for the rest of the journey this was OK, but if travelling via Keighley please note that there are 2 sets of 2 speed camera’s (one on each side of the road) shortly before you arrive. Also Blackmoor Road is a right hand turn off another road, which has a traffic-calming island at the bottom. Priority is given to vehicles heading south. No problem going to the site, but leaving is difficult with very limited visibility.
Arriving late, the staff in the bar directed us to a field where we pitched using the headlights to see by. Other campers, seeing we were struggling a bit, were great offering to help out. One family were kind enough to lend us a calor gas bottle for the weekend, for which we are eternally grateful, and taught us to carry an emergency stove.
This site, being right at the top of a moor is very flat and well drained and benefits from great views of the Worth Valley and Howarth etc. However in bad weather the site might be a bit exposed in a tent. There’s a small field set aside for tents at the end of the site next to the children’s play area and not far from the facilities block. Also just over a farm track there are fields with horses, ponies and deer – a great hit with the kids. The facilities themselves were fairly large and because most of the people on the site were in caravans, not busy. Unfortunately the individual toilets were not particularly clean and we think needed cleaning more frequently than once a day. The men’s showers were ok – large cubicles, plenty of pegs etc and 1 x 20pence piece delivers 3 minutes of hot water through a powerful shower. My wife tells me that the women’s facilities smelled of cigarette smoke and weren’t very clean either.
All in all I would go back to this site because it’s very well placed for visiting Bronte country and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway is really good – plus on a longer visit there’s plenty to do further a field, Leeds and Bradford etc. We found that the people we came across were really friendly and it’s very quiet after about 10pm, though our children did mention that some of the regular kids were a bit territorial about the play area. Because there’s a lot of statics, with no sub letting allowed and bookings from single sex parties aren’t accepted, I think this goes a long way to making the site very family friendly.
