Just got back from Upwood Park after a two night stay for our first ever family camping trip. We were located behind the mega pods in a nook sheltered by hedges.
A very warm welcome when we arrived (late on a rainy Friday) and found our pitch easily, pitched with the help of some very nice neighbours. Ideally located between the shower block (very modern and clean, and never busy) and the playground (my 7 and 5 year olds loved this), and that was lovely and safe too.
A minor nuisance was the swarm of huge blackflies that appeared at lunchtime and disappeared about 7pm every single day.
Otherwise things were really nice - a shop on site (if limited in stock) and excellent food from the clubhouse.

Just returned from upwood park, we stayed in the mega pods for four nights. The pods were ideal for our family, 2 adults and 1 child, they included a double bed, bed settee, sink, microwave, fridge, table and 2 chairs, toilet. You still need to take pots and hob to do cooking, Also you need to take own bedding. The mega pods were almost brand new and in lovely condition, with a balcony area which is ideal to sit out on a lovely evening, unfortunately for us it rained a lot of the time.
The staff in reception were helpful and friendly.
The shower block was one of cleanest and nicest we ever used, 50pence for a shower. There was a small park where our children went to play but not sure what it consisted of as they old enough to go on their own. There is an indoor play room with pool tables and air hockey table.
We visited Haworth which is a nice little village and Bolton Abbey £6 per car which is lovely place for a stroll and picnic, , little stream and stepping stones. We also visited Brimham Rock which I would recommend if you have older children who like to climb and put the wind up their parents. Bargain for only £4 car.
We bought take away Indian from Tandoori house, Haworth and kebab from next door shop, about 8 mins drive and reasonable prices and nice food.

We've just got back from a long weekend on this site with our folding camper and have had a really nice time.
The site is easy to find, the sign for the site is quite small, but if you know it's coming up, you won't miss it. Check in was quick, you get a key fob for the entrance barrier and the toilet block (for £10 deposit). We were shown to our pitch and was given the choice of hardstanding or grass - we chose the grass.
The site is nicely laid out and the pitches are fairly spacious. There is a small play area which all the kids loved - the ground is shredded tyres, so do prepare for your kids to come back absolutely black!
The toilet / shower block was lovely and clean, all nice and new with radio 2 playing in the background. The showers are the rainwater type huge heads that are close to the ceiling. The water may have been piping hot when it leaves the shower head, but was just warm when it hit my head! The height of them also meant that pressure was fairly low and they aren't really suitable for showering small children who don't like water in their eyes! There is a charge for the showers which isn't mentioned on their website - 50p for about 5 minutes and the machine only takes 50p coins, so go prepared.
There is a bar serving food on site and a games room. We never used these, so can't comment. However, the evening we arrived the chef had phoned in sick for the weekend, so no food Friday night, but the owners were putting a barbecue on for the Saturday night.
Howarth & Oxenhope are close by and within walking distance for the physically able - the hill is quite steep though. There are lots of pubs around and places to eat and there is a Spar in Howarth.
All in all, a cracking little site, a bit windy with it being at the top of the hill, but worth a visit. Money wise, it was mid price range, but the facilities and cleanliness made it worth it.

What a lovely site. We stayed here for the weekend with family in the shelter area. We had a lovely set up with 3 tents in what felt like our own area. The kids loved the games room and the adults enjoyed the meat loaf entertainment night in the bar.
The site is very clean and the staff are lovely. It has a small playground which was ample for the kids from 3 - 16 years of age.
The showers and toilets are lovely. They are worked via a fob which is a 10 pound deposit. I felt that maybe more than 1 of these would be helpful for a larger family.
They were always clean and had music piped into them. The showers weren't very strong which made it quite hard to shampoo the little ones hair. However they had plenty of space and hooks. They had separate sink facilities which were great if you wanted a wash and teeth brush behind closed doors.
One of our party used the basic pods which they found more than adequate. The luxury pods looked absolutely fab.
The views were amazing and despite mixed weather we found plenty to do in the local area.
The wind on the site does come from nowhere so make sure you guy out your tent well.
It has a small but well stocked shop in reception with lovely staff serving.
Our only disapointment was our Sunday lunch, we paid 6. 50 each for our dinner and felt that one slice of meat, one roast potato and small yorkshire pudding with a shared platter of veg wasn't really sufficient or value for money after a hard morning dissasembling the tents.
Despite that we will definitely be back to this site thanks for a lovely weekend.

We booked a standard camping pod at Upwood Holiday Park. These are new for 2011 and consist of basic pods, which we had, and mega pods which come equipped with mod cons and a toilet cubicle. We were disappointed that those pods with toilet cubicles were situated right next to the toilet block, while the basic pods without toilets were 100 yards away. Not good for a middle-of-the-night dash!
The shower block has been upgraded, as we understand and appears at first very modern, clean and bright. The showers, however, could be better. The fixed head is in a very high ceiling, so the pressure is similar to a light rain shower and barely wets you. There are only two pegs on which to hang any clothing, with the risk that shower spray may dampen it. The showers cost 50p, but give less than 4 minutes of time. I can confirm this as, when I started my first shower the radio was playing a music track which finished well after the shower had done so. Each shower cost me £1, although I didn't need all the £1 worth, so I paid £1 for approximately 60p worth. Not great value for money.
The two gentlemen who worked there were very accommodating and most helpful.
The bar staff in the evening were friendly and helpful and there is also a good games room to the side with a range of games.
The campsite shop is basic and carries only the absolute essentials. We had had an accident with our washing up liquid and required a replacement, but there was none on the shelf and the lady in reception didn't seem to want to check the back office stock.
We also needed a new camp stove gas bottle, none of which I could find and was told there were none. Later in the day my partner went to the shop with the same question, and the man on duty went into the store room and fetched out two bottles!
The site itself is peaceful and well appointed, easy to find and within easy reach of the local pub and shopping facilities - approximately 5 minutes and 7 minutes drive away respectively. Haworth is about 10 minutes drive away.
Oxenhope is one terminal for the Keighley & Worth Valley Heritage railway, which we used and enjoyed tremendously. Again, Oxenhope station is no more than 7 minutes drive away and parking is free.
There are opportunities for walking in the immediate area surrounding the site.
All in all, we enjoyed our three night stay; I would, however, re-emphasise the points I made about the vicinity of the basic pods to the toilet block and the showers. These are points which can be improved upon.

We visited this site with friends and family for a long weekend, on arriving it was easy to find and the staff showed us to our pitch which was large so plenty of room.
We had a great time and the kids and dog had a ball as the play area was only a hop skip and jump away.
The toilets and washing area is just fantastic, clean, heated, with music playing. The washing area is also great with 2 outside sinks and 2 inside sinks with a commercial washing machine and dryer.
On site also is a club, shop and games room which will help keep the kids happy!
All in all we had a great stay and have booked for the next bank holiday.

Really nice Site, Staff were really helpful.
The toilet block was the BEST I have been to so far, very clean, showers were brilliant.
We took our dog for the first time and because the site is out in the sticks there were some really nice walks.
Although I say out in the sticks it was very close to towns & villages (the pizza shop in Howarth was lovely), I can't comment on the shop or clubhouse as I didn't use them.
We went with another family who had four children and the facilities kept them occupied.
Would go back.

We in initially visited the site for a look whilst staying in Holmefirth and upon driving onto the site we must have looked lost because we were approached by a resident who was very helpful and directed us to the reception and explained how things worked. This was a very nice first impression and we found that this was not a one off the residents welcome you into the community and this allows you to relax from the off.
We visited this site and stayed for 2 months (now retired we could do so) one of the reasons we stayed so long was because of the beautiful area that the campsite situated in with great views across the moor land and countryside.
The location of the site allowed visits to the beautiful village of Howarth and the historic town of Skipton (which has great markets Monday Wednesday Friday and Saturday). The other was that we found the site and facilities were excellent the pitches are either hardcore or grass. The grass is tended with enthusiasm and is better than my lawn at home. The new toilet/shower block that has recently been installed and is a pleasure to use with piped music and very modern facilities, being kept very clean even in the height of the children’s holidays. The attention to detail on the whole site is remarkable, and on top of that the staff are extremely friendly.
The site has a very cosy bar which has a lovely welcome for everyone and very nice food being served. They have live acts at weekends which are surprisingly good for such a small facility, all this added together made a good atmosphere.
Although we stayed in our large motorhome we took a look at the new concept of POD’s which is like a small log cabin a bit like camping without the tent, and the luxury POD which has its own toilet and kitchen area plus sleeping for 4.
We will definitely be returning as we enjoyed it that much.

Stayed here with friends between Easter weekend and the royal wedding weekend, found the reception staff very friendly on arrival and site looked well kept.
A lady showed us to our pitches which were a good size, which was good as we had large tents.
Our 4 kids loved the small but practical playground and soon made friends with others. Our friends had a dog with them and there was plenty of walks off park to walk the dog.
Showers and toilets were always clean and tidy and there was a small but practical shop.
Only 3 small issues really -
1. Was that the bin area was overflowing, and was stacked on the floor.
2. The camp site is quite high up, so every day we were there it was always windy.
3. On the day of leaving felt under pressure to get packed up and off the site, as a man on the lawn mower was sat waiting for us to leave at bang on 12 noon.
Other than that all good.

My partner and I have just returned from a 2 night stay in one of the basic pods, and it was fantastic.
This is one of the cleaness sites I have ever been to. The toilet blocks have just been re-furbished and they are lovely. Unfortunatley the weekend we were there, they were having problems with the new floor in the ladies showers, (no doubt not up to the owners high standards) and they were un-usable. But the disabled showers were made available to the ladies. There was lots of clean toilet cubicles, and 3 large cubicles with a sink in them for if you just wanted a wash.
They site itself was very well maintained, and set out.
Check in was very quick, and we were given details of the surrounding area, a bus timetable and a taxi card. There is a £10 deposit required for the key fob which opened the barrier at night and the toilets.
The pod itself was great and made a nice change to our tent. Again it was noticably clean, with a double plug socket, light and electric radiator, which got very warm on a night. The little bit of decking area was lovely and we did our bit of cooking out there.
We went in the club house both nights, and found everyone very welcoming, even on the 2nd night when someone was having their 50th birthday celebrations, quiz, Karaoke and disco, we were invited to join in.
They are just in the process of errecting the new mega pods which look amazing, they have a double bed, toilet, sink and a kitchen area, I also believe they will have a settee bed to, but these weren't in yet. We were told these would be ready for Easter and I can't wait to go back and stay in one. The only small gripe I have with these are they are very close to the toilet block, even though they have a toilet and sink inside them, whereas the basic ones, without the toilet are a bit further away.
I would definitely go back to this site and recommemnded it to anyone, the surrounding area is lovely, and it's a nice walk into Haworth down hill, only attempt it back if you have oxygen!
