What a wonderful experience. I booked a pitch for a tent for two nights but on arrival the weather was not all that good so after speaking to David the camp site Warden (this was by then nearly 22. 00 hrs) he managed to put us into one of the sleeping pods for the first night. Considering that David should really have finished his working day a few hours earlier he was most helpful and as we needed an early start the next morning he gave us an early morning call at 05. 50 so we could be on our way on time. On arriving back at the camp site we discovered that there was a club house and dining facilities, all I can say that the meals were really good and not expensive, needless to say that I will be going back at a later date.

Thanks David for making it a really good stay.

Just returned home from a lovely weekend staying in a POD, we stayed in Anne. Again another fantastic stay at this site. Very helpful friendly staff, we dined in the club house, the Sunday lunch is highly recommended. Shower room and toilets are kept in very good condition and very clean, they have radio 2 piped in there. Will be back next year. Great place for couples and families, a good half hour walk to Haworth.

The best campsite we've stayed at, has play areas for children, weather not too great but it is November. Upwood has a little shop selling a wide range of things, check in and check out is very quick and easy. Will definitely return next year to stay in the PODs. I think the tent may now be retired, the pod takes away the hassle of pitching tents etc. Only negative is that the weekend went far too quickly.

We have just been to Upwood for the Bonfire weekend. This is the 4th time we have been to this site. We go with our friends who also have a tourer and have always managed to get pitches side by side. We also turn one tourer around so they are facing one another, which Upwood don't have a problem with(unlike some sites where it is regimented pitching).

It is 12 months ago since we were last on site, which is our loss I have to say. There have been quite a few changes to an already excellent site. The toilets and showers have been refurbished, the showers cost 50p and there is more than enough water, but the showers were that good I actually put another 50p in and just stood under it.

There are also more Pods being sited with some Mega Pods that had double beds and a bed sofa (Glamping at it's best)

There was a firework and hog roast on, £5 for the hog roast, it was well worth the money. Then there was a disco. The pub was packed to standing put it soon became less cramped as people left with young ones who were ready for bed. We enjoyed the disco and at one point my mate and me had everyone in the pub up doing a conger to 'Is this the way to Amarillo'.

Even though we haven't been for 12 months quite a few people recognised us (can't understand why as we are quiet unassuming people)and gave us a really warm welcome. A few even came and found us on Sunday to say 'see you' and asked when we will be back.

We had a full Breakfast on Sunday which was nice, the food and beer are well price (Black Sheep Bitter £2. 40). Haworth is a lovely village to walk around.

This is a fantastic site for familieas were kids can play safely. We will be returning and it will be sooner that 12 months this time.

It has been a while since I was last at a real 'campsite', but after buying a VW camper for my 'mid-life crisis' I decided to 'go local' for our first proper family camping experience.

When we arrived at the site, we were greeted by a barrier, no problems, press the button when you have found it (perhaps they can put a sign saying to press button and where it is - if there is one it wasn't obvious to me), once in the site itself, we were greeted by two guys in a car, who politely directed us to our pitch (nice hard standing pitch with electric) and were told to go to the reception once parked up. The reception was pleasant and welcoming, with a small 'emergency shop' enclosed.

The bar was open, so I had a little drink and a pack of crisps (very good prices and well stocked - not my choice of lager but they had a small range of everything really), there is a games room and also what looks like a disco/karaoke set up also.

The bathrooms are amazing, very clean, warm and also music playing into them (shame it was Radio2 - but you cannot please everyone). There were a good amount of showers (50p) and enclosed wash areas (which has free soap which is nice) though I felt lacking in hand dryers (only one in the gents), but there is a wall mounted hair dryer!

The laundry looked well equipped but we didn't need to use it.

The washing-up facilities were basic, but hot and cold water. This was outside under a little canopy, which was fine whilst it wasn't raining or windy, but I would hate to be there when it was (perhaps they could fit a little back fence).

The playground was very safe for our daughter to play on with very bouncy flooring (I suspect from old tyres which is a very nice touch) and the wild gardens surrounding the site is nice.

I noticed on our second day that a fellow camper-vanner was struggling to get off his pitch due to damp grass, this is guess is a problem all over, but the hard standing could be extended to the road would make a big improvement.

The local facilities are limited (no local cash point, and the one I found in Howarth at a convineice supermarket was not possible to park near due to a 6foot (ish) barrier - but the park gave me cashback), with very scenic views all around, Oxenhope has some decant pubs and so does Howarth, with good pub food, or if your on a budget or want a change, there is some nice cafes down the Howarth hill. There are loads of local museums and attractions to keep everyone entertained - perhaps the site could have a bigger variety of leaflets though.

All in all, a top site, and I am a very picky person! I will be visiting there again very soon and more than likely many times next year and the following years.

Just spent a great weekend here after being able to book in at the last minute (at a squeeze - thank you David) on the tent part with electric hook-up. Absolutely lovely site with very nice toilet/shower facilities. Excellent welcome and shown to our pitch (again thank you David) and left to get on with it with no hassle.

As it was the steam railway weekend we went into Oxenhope on the bus - very cheap (very rural area so very limited bus travel) but managed to get there, got the 'steamer' into Haworth (good value for money), hopped off there and then got another one into Keighley. Haworth is so beautiful.

Got back to the campsite for an evening of Karaoke and what a good night it was. Even had a great chat / entertainment with one of the locals who gave us a magnificent card trick scenario - he was so friendly and should be a credit to the club for his entertainment. The barmaid (sorry don't know name but we had a chat about Keighley and she was so friendly), again a credit to the club. Food was absolutely excellent and really hot (10+ in my estimation).

Would definitely go again and would highly recommend it (but beware it is a very rural area and probably one of the highest campsites in Yorkshire, hence the previous comments about wind but luckily we didn't suffer that). If you do go, hope you enjoy it as much as we did - we will go again at some point.

Having just returned from a weekend at Upwood Park I felt I had to leave a review.

We stayed in one of the standard pods, which was fantastic, a lot bigger than expected, was ideal for myself my partner and the dog, with plenty of room, it was lovely and warm and cozy, with our own little deck to sit out and do our cooking on.

The site itself is lovely and clean, and the facilities are brilliant, all the staff I met were friendly.

Lots of lovely walks to take the dog on, and about a 45 min walk to Haworth which is well worth the walk.

We will definitely be returning, the mega pods also looked brilliant, but with the dog the standard was just perfect for us.

Highly recommended from us.

Just returned from a weeks break at Upwood and have mixed feelings about the place.

50p for a shower that really doesn't last long enough when you have two kids that need to shower with you. Only one chemical disposal point which was blocked every time we went to use it and given how big this site is they really do need more.

Also grey water disposal involves lifting your full tank about 2 feet of the ground! As most are aware this is impossible when full.

Plus points, showers are spotless and bar is reasonably priced and food was good quality.

Just a shame about the niggles.

This site has first class facilities for disabled. All amenities are clean and well cared for. Great on site bar & restaurant. Good play park for children and plenty of designated space to exercise the dogs.

Small on site shop for basics but for more. Very friendly staff.

Very close to Worth Valley steam railway, Bronte Parsonage, home to the Bronte sisters and other places of interest.

Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

A very well laid out campsite, with clean toilets and showers, and a great kids playground.

We booked as part of a fairly large group and had our own area which was nice. It's very windy up there so be warned!

I thought the key fob idea for the toilets was a bit silly though. We only got one for the whole family, and I was permanently paranoid about losing it. Is it really needed? I can't imagine anyone else other than campers using the facilities as it's in the middle of nowhere! Owner's comment : The key fob is a really good idea (it operates the park security barrier as well as the toilets) and most people love it, it gives a sense of security without making it feel like 'colditz, ' and more importantly keeps sometimes bored / mischief-us children from causing absolute havoc in the shower block. The point is raised that you only get one fob - not true you can have as many as you like per family, but again most families only need one.

Also, some friends of ours had a gazebo, which they were charged £25 for 2 nights for. I think this is extortionate!

All in all a very nice site, but the cost of the gazebo would put me off going back I'm afraid! Owner's comments: In practice we don’t charge for standard sized gazebo's at all and our rate if we do is £5 per night up to a maximum of £20 per visit (as published). So if in-deed they did pay £25 for a gazebo I can only assume the gazebo was the size of an aircraft hanger and took half the camping field over or there was some misunderstanding, either over the size of it or the length of it's stay. If this was the latter and they still have the receipt I will gladly refund the difference.
