Just returned from a welcomed break, making the most of the British summer and stayed here for 3 nights.
What a great site!
With it not being peak-season, there was plenty of pitches so we choose one near to the new shower block in paddock A.
Good, level and sheltered from the breeze but worryingly near the walk way to the facilities.
We needn't have worried, as the site was REALLY peaceful by 22:30hrs!
We used the pool everyday, (Great for swimming, but a bit cold for 'playing' in!), the shop for basics (Not Tesco's but had everything we needed) and the 'Bar in the Barn' for fun!
The showers were spotless and the addition of 2 family bathrooms was a real plus!
As I said, this wasn't peak season, where I think the facilities may be busy, but well worth the wait!

Fabulous campsite. Excellent toilet/ shower block, very clean with the added bonus of some family bathrooms with bath!
Evening entertainment for children, which wasn't annoying for us, whose children are grown up. Good bar food, reasonable bar prices. Very flat spacious pitches. We were free to choose our own spot, which was great. The shop is well stocked and not over-priced.
The little swimming pool was busy but was fenced off and clean.
The staff were helpful and I would recommend this site to all campers. There are no statics or vans so you don't feel like you are looked down on for being in a tent.

We have just returned from a wonderful long weekend at West Fleet. We enjoyed it so much that we felt we had to give a review, it is the most idyllic campsite we have been too, so quiet and relaxing.
The facilities were fantastic, the shop had all the things you needed, the showers / toilets were lovely and clean (cleaned 3 times a day), and the kids absolutely loved the play areas and the freedom they had to roam around safely.
There was also 'The Bar in the Barn' which was open in the evening and served really nice food at reasonable prices and a small games room next door for the kids which looked ok but ours didn't use it. A heated outdoor pool and launderette as well what more could you need.
We will definitely go back hopefully in the not too distant future!

We spent the Easter week here, the site being busy up to Tuesday and then almost empty.
It is a beautifully situated site with an adequate shop, a bar which opens when the site is busy (and does a decent breakfast), and is centrally placed for all the wonderful places to visit in the area. No problem in the gents facilities on the busiest days, but ladies were more stretched.
The coastal path walks are very good, especially the Abbotsbury circular and the Ringstead area. The Victoria is a nice pub but the Elm Tree was seriously pressured on easter Monday (20 mins to get a pint!). The pubs can't afford to pay for Sky so take your own if you want it!
Dorchester (try 'Billy the Fish' for a quirky, but excellent meal), Abbotsbury, Weymouth, Wareham, etc, etc; definitely coming back, and to this site.

A wonderful site with a friendly welcome. Superb EHU pitch up against a beautiful dry stone wall - easily swallowed up our Vermont XL. Lovely clean shower and toilet facilities. Bags of hot water. In fact the whole site was spotless
'Bar in the Barn' offered good family evening entertainment, food, drink and bang on 22:00 stopped playing music. Could be a little noisy till 23:00, but ear plugs cured that problem!
Nice outdoor pool, well stocked shop and a big children's play area to wear them out.
Would we go again . Yes, booked for 2nd week of August.
Book early to get a EHU pitch.

We stayed at Sea Barn Farm which is kind of an extension to West Fleet Holiday Farm.
You pay for the use of the facilities on West Fleet Holiday Farm ie the open pool and the eating place.
I have stayed here for several years.
It is well laid out with hedges surrounding pitches. There are several toilet facilities which are clean and a well stocked shop.
I feel the cost is a bit pricey for what the campsite is.It is after all a campsite and not a holiday park.
There are amazing views on this campsite across the Fleet to Portland. You can even see the lighthouse in the far distance.
The campsite is about 4 miles from Weymouth beach.
There are footpaths nearby down to Moonfleet which is pleasant.
Booking is almost essential.
I think the two sites are family run and over several years I have found the members of staff on this particular campsite to be slightly unwelcoming.
Despite this I would go back, mainly because I love the views.

We stayed here for 3 nights just after the August bank holiday. It is a very large and busy campsite (too busy for our liking)for tents only. The pitches are level and large and the tent pegs went in really easily (no rocks or stones!). The new shower and toilet block was very nice and clean but there were long queues for the showers. The layout also meant that those queuing for the showers blocked off the toilets, sink and hand-dryers for other users (minor inconvenience).
The shop had a good selection of items and the staff friendly and helpful.
We didn't use the pool as it was overcrowded at the time we were there and parents didn't appear to be supervising their children particularly well.
Whilst we didn't have any meals onsite in the bar we did go to the nearby village of Chickerell and dined at the Turks Head. We can thoroughly recommend the food there both for quality, quantity and value (most main meals were less than £10)

This is our second year here, last year we went of a basic pitch, but this year we managed to get an electric pitch. This pitches were really big, and can easily accommodate a large tent, we have a trout lake and we pitched this, with our extension, and parked the car, and there was still enough room for a smaller tent of another car.
The toilets are spotless and are cleaned about 4 times a day, and are often busy around 9am. The shop stocks all the items you may need, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The entertainment, is great for anyone with kids.
We have eaten in there last year and the food was ok and not to expensive.
The pool although is slightly colder than I would have expected and my sisters children didn't stay in for long, and preferred to go to the local inside pool. The playing field is a good idea, as before you could camp on here, but they seem to have stopped this, and it is a great place to play cricket rounders, or al ot of kite flying.
The strict rules about noise is good as it does go extremely quiet after this time, and stops any roudyness from teenagers.
We didn't have to pay any deposit bond, and nor did my younger brother and his girlfriend (ages 17 and 19) or my sisters family, (2 adults 2 children), which was good, but we do understand why they do it, but I think if this came compulsive we wouldn't go there anymore, as could become costly.
We love Weymouth because of the local area, Weymouth has got loads of nice shops, a lovely harbour where you can sit for hours, and a lovely sandy beach, you can easily spend a day hear without spending to much money. Portland Bill is also a great little drive with lovely coastal views, and is a must for any visit.
The only problem with Weymouth is the roads leading to the area which when we left on Saturday at 9:30am to come home were extremely congested in both directions, with people going and coming, so I would suggest get there early.
A great site, and if we go to Weymouth again, we would use this site again

Absolutely fantastic site - this was our first family camping trip and we had a wonderful time! We occupied a standard pitch (non-electric) with a six man tent & two cars with plenty of space.
Toilet / shower / washing-up facilities excellent - exactly as shown on website. Children's play area great for kite flying!
Pool O.K.- very well used. Good well-stocked shop. Friendly & helpful staff.
Sampled on-site restaurant food on first evening which was very good. Entertainment O.K. - catch the Robbie tribute act, which was good fun and very well received, although many of the songs were non-Robbie numbers!
Site was kept very clean & tidy - a real credit to all who work there. Also nice that it is pretty much tents only, no caravans.
In short an absolutely fantastic site that I think may well be a hard act to follow as we were spoilt on our very first trip away.
Very highly recommended and a great base from which to explore this part of the country.

Booked last minute at the very start of the summer holidays. We loved this site. The site is spacious and very very well laid out. We had 3 nights on a fantastic level, huge EHU pitch with fantastic views. Most pitches looked fine in size and position however, we did feel some around the pool area were a bit cramped and very close to the pool - so maybe avoid asking for a pitch close to the pool. There are bricks available at most water points for those with disposable BBQs.
Lovely huge playing field (somewhere to kick balls/play rounders etc) for children alongside the play park.
The outdoor pool was clean but had a bit of a 70's feel to it. Take your own deck chairs etc as there is no poolside furniture. The water was warm.
There was evening entertainment in the Barn. The bar prices were OK. The entertainment is quite low key and slightly cheesy but the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a really lovely atmosphere in the bar barn. Some kind of take away food was available there but not sure what as we never needed to use it.
The shop sold most things. Lovely farm sausages etc. A little pricey but no more so than the average site shop. Shop was open 9 to 1 and 2 to 6. Freezer block service at 75p deposit per block.
This site had the most fantastic shower block. Not huge. 4 showers, 4 cubicles with wash basin and about 5 toilets. They are brand new and spotless. Only had to wait 5 minutes one morning, the rest of the time we never had a problem. Lots of hooks and a small changing area all in. There were also 2 family bathrooms with baths in the same new block.
The site does have some strict rules with regards to quiet at 11pm etc and respecting the site and your camping neighbours - with the threat of being evicted if you dont comply. Really good in my opinion as the site was very busy and the site really quietend down at 11pm. We had no problems at all.
We will be returning here and would recommend it to families.
