Had first visit to this site and probably the last. Although that's not to say we didn't enjoy the holiday!. I think the site was adequate but not excellent . The pitches were large but a bit scruffy the bar in the barn was fun for a couple of nights but a bit boring after that as they played the same old party tracks every night and nearly in the same order! It was always full too so we sat outside quite often. We were not bothered by noise apart from the eager campers when arriving early for bank holiday weekend. We were shocked by the state of the toilets and showers though they need replacing badly. Even though I saw them being cleaned they didn't look much better afterwards. The food was nice though not too expensive and you could order until quite late. The swimming pool was lovely and clean but got very busy and I felt at times it should have had a lifeguard at all times but instead they had the site owner coming over from time to time giving everyone a lecture about not jumping or using inflatables or she would have to close the pool. It felt like we were back at school ! Apart from that to justify what was being charged it needs some money spending on it and some better entertainment for the evening.

I was looking forward to this site. The home reared beef sounded good and a bar with entertainment. Fields are well kept and are tidy enough. We found a nice pitch in the middle as the perimiter ones are reserved for elec. Hook up. The shop is well stocked although quite expensive. The toilet blocks are a disgrace. They were cleaned once very early in the morning. About 6.00. Never during the day. The barn is a joke. No seats available after 6.35pm (It opens at 6.30!). Food ok if all you and yours eats is burger and chips. No toilets in the bar. Outside to one of the falling down blocks. Feral children running wild everywhere. Yes, I know its a campsite and what do I expect, but these were the lowest of the low. All in all I couldn't wait to leave. We very nearly came home instead of going on, it was that bad.

The previous reviewer is pretty much on the money. We found the pitches to be of a decent size, as with the sister site down the hill at Bagwell Farm. The play field was a great idea and meant you could comfortably fly kites, play footie etc with no worries. The power hook ups were easily accessible and convenient. Nice view across the sea so that you could see weather moving in from some distance away. The swimming pool was good but crowded. Could also do with having a member of staff nearby to monitor some of the more annoying teenage excesses at times. Accident with a car meant the pool was out of action on our first night, but the site dealt with this quickly and all was up and running the following day. Shop was good and generally well stocked for food and basic equipment should repairs be necessary. Bar was good though as stated, seating limited for a busy site. Play area near bar popular and kids loved the disco - though some who like quieter sites may not feel the same. Staff very quick to deal with a 'family' who made a lot of noise and upset many a camper in our field very late into the night. They were removed the following day. Much to our general relief. Only negatives coincide with those listed previously. I cannot state how poor the toilet and shower facilities were with sufficient derision. Very little hot water, showers that are virtually Chinese water torture in terms of power, and rather scummy floors. The toilets were also very poor with difficulty in flushing in the main block. Also, no means of drying hands and no soap in toilets at all. My wife would also like to point out an excess of bugs in the showers due to the lack of an external door. (Bagwell down the hill suffers bugs, but their facilities are cleaned regularly and as such, this is not a problem with showers there). I can also echo the comment about the sinks for washing up as they were not very well provided for in terms of power or temperature. A covering for these would also help as washing up in torrential rain is not really that helpful. All in all, could do better. Some good facilities, but really bad for showers. If they sorted these out with a decent modern block, then this would be a good site for family visits.

Had a great week at this site and it helped as the weather was roasting when we went. Loads of room so even when quite busy you didn't feel surrounded.
Showers could do with updating but were always hot and as well as the main shower block there is another one with showers down by the pool which was much less busy.
Pool was great in the hot weather and shop stocked most things you might need. (does no fruit, veg or salad though)
Evening entertainment was great for the kids but avoid the female singer, on 2 nights a week, the blokes were really good though.
Would definitely go back to this site.

This is a great site if you do not want to be crammed in . We only had a tent but lots of people had enough space for awnings, gazebos etc and were not on top of others. The outdoor pool was great if a little busy, and the staff in the shop were very helpful. There is also an ice pack exchange which is a godsend if you do not have a fridge. Plenty of space in the park for the kids to play, it came with its own field! The bar gets very busy so go early if you want a seat inside. There is a games room too but that also gets very busy. Lots of seating outside though. The toilet and shower blocks are clean, but bring soap and a towel with you unless you go to the pool toilets as there are no soap dispensers or hand towels/driers. We had a great time though so don't let any of the above put you off!

This was only the 3rd time we have been camping, and so with our new tent off we went to sunny Weymouth! The day we arrived it was pouring with rain and desperate for the loo after a 3 hour drive, diving into the toilet blocks only to be utterly disgusted with what we saw! There were millions of creepy things everywhere and flies also, the loos were disgusting, with doors hanging off, toilet roll covering the floor, yuk! Anyway we thought we'd give it the benefit of the doubt and booked in, hoping that it would get better, it didn't! The toilets in the other block were marginally better, but swarmed with flying insects, doors didn't lock, toilets dirty, showers disgusting and having to queue for a dirty shower is not good! The actual pitch was nice, we pitched as far away as we could from the toilets and the flying insects! The bar in the barn is a joke, must say we only went once but that was once too much! Supposed to of stayed for a week came home after 3 days! Do not go to this campsite, its a rip off!

Just returned from a 5 day break at West Fleet, found the pitches here very good, nice and tidy with plenty of space. Not too crowded as everyone was pitching round the sides, with nobody in the middle. Water was easy accessible, we had a bit of a walk to the toilets which we were not impressed with. We had previously found out by reading other reviews that they needed updating, but we found them to be quite grubby. Other sites that we have been to before, you actually find the toilets closed from certain times for cleaning, but never saw anyone cleaning these, only changing toilet paper. Which was the pull out sheets that end up all over the floor! There wasn't enough showers, so you had to queue, and they were a bit grubby as well. We went to wash up our dishes one day and there was no hot water either for dishwashing or showers. People were queueing up for showers only to find them freezing. Also the dishwashing area could have had a cover over it so you don't get soaked if it is raining. The barn was ok for entertainment but was more for children and really could do with being bigger. Never managed to get a seat inside. So not good in bad weather. Never tried the food so can't comment really. The shop was well stocked but not much variety if you are vegetarian like our daughter. The pool seemed fine but was crowded, but what you'd expect really. I don't think we will be returning here as we have been to better.

We stayed 3 days with two other families, each in our own tent and found that the site was full. We expected a bit more considering it was £57 for 3 nights for two adults and a two year old. It was very busy and the pool was full when the weather was good. The worst part was that whatever time we went for showers there was a queue, be it 7am or 4pm and the facilities are in need of updating. The kids enjoyed the playground and the adults enjoyed the clubhouse. They even do breakfasts for those not into doing their own. The neighbouring Seabarn site might be a better alternative next time as it is cheaper and quieter and you still have access to all the facilities of this site. I do not think I would go back to this site next year.

We spent two days at this site. Although the site was overcrowded , we had a pleasant time, but I feel that the toilet / shower blocks need to be updated, as they are in a poor state hygienically. We found broken locks on toilet doors, toilet seats with broken fitments, generally dilapidated. The barn was always busy offering a disco, with bar and food. I don't feel I would personally return to this site as I felt that it was not value for money, for the prices that are charged I would have expected a higher standard of facilities.

Spent a week here in July/August 2005, This was the time my wife and kids had spent a whole week camping, they all loved it. The camp site was very well laid out and very well priced. We had a great pitch, plenty of room and a good view across the site to the playground, the site felt safe and we were happy to let the kids run freely around the site and the playground. A very family orientated site with good family entertainment in the evenings complimented by simple bar snacks and a friendly bar and nice safe clean swimming pool for the day time. Weymouth is a lovely town with one of the best beeches in Britain, would recommend this site to anyone with a family wishing to visit Weymouth.
