Have just returned from a fab week at West Fleet campsite just outside Weymouth in our 6 person tent. Was pitched in paddock D with electric hook up.

Loads of room for our large tent and car in the pitch, plus no extra charge for a large tent which was a bonus.

Facilities were spot on, the new toilet and shower block including family bathrooms were great, cleaned thoroughly regularly and the queues were not that long even for a peak week.

The swimming pool was nice and surprisingly warm, plus there were two play parks and a large playing field which was perfect for kids.

The bar in the barn offered a great value breakfast plus evening meals, which were a little more pricey, plus a range of entertainment was provided every evening.

The shop was large and well stocked and the staff were friendly and helpful.

A great site for families, would thoroughly recommend it.

Sea Barn Farm certainly has amazing views and we would probably stay there next time compared to West Fleet where we have just spent a week.

We chose West Fleet because of the proximity to the facilities ie swimming pool (gets crowded and noisy but still a bonus for kids of all ages) and the barn (bar/disco). The short walk from Sea Barn to the swimming pool is better than being near the more hectic West Fleet.

The service from the people working in the main reception is very good, happy to help with all enquiries. It was busy in the first week of August, so pitches were scarce but there was just enough room for young kids to run and cycle around without getting under anyones feet. The general atmosphere is very nice, great for young families. The shower block and family bathrooms were very good and even when the rain came and it was muddy outside, they were cleaned 2 or 3 times a day and the type of people staying cleaned up after themselves as well.

If you planning to stay during a busy week in the summer or a bank holiday the chances are that they will be fully booked and space limited. I would recommend you book a pitch with an electric hook up, even if you don't intend to use the electric - that way you'll get a pitch on the boundary of one of the fields and you wont risk being in the middle of a field totally surrounded by tents and guys ropes etc, the extra cost was a few quid a day I think.

We didn't eat at the barn bar, but the drink prices were average too high, the shop is well stocked and reasonably priced. I would recommend spending time in Weymouth, but avoid Portland like the plague and don't waste your time travelling to Portland Bill. Lulworth Cove is worth a trip, but skip Dorchester, its a total nightmare to park. The Sealife centre is Weymouth is the best we visited, lots of outside rides and attractions as well as the usual stuff and all included in the price. One final thing, if you're not into dogs they insist that dogs are kept away from certain fields, which in hindsight worked very well

We visited here for 7 nights in mid August with our two children 6 and 3, who really enjoyed themselves. We have none - EHU in the middle of the site and the site was full for all the time we were there.

When we arrived on the sunday having pre-booked several months before, pitches has not been reserved and were sent off to find a pitch where there was space, we arrived on a sunday so most weekend people had already arrived and those on a long weekend had not left yet - so finding somewhere was a bit tricky and the tents were not that well spaced out.

The showers etc were good / clean and the family bathrooms very welcome although big queues at peak times and shut / locked up at around 8-9pm.

Although playgrounds were quite basic it was safe and children enjoyed them very much and many children play football and cricket on open play area's. There were also the huge blow up slides / castles which were chargeable.

We ate in the barn/restaurant one evening which was nice, the steak was good although you did need to order it in advance unless it was limited. Found the menu limited for children. Child portion and adult portion was on the expensive side for a 6 year old.

Really liked the beach at Weymouth, but very busy and parking was very difficult as well as lots of traffic!

Shop well stocked - although bought something off the shelf and noticed when I get it back it was out of date!

Saying that we would good back and enjoyed our stay.

We have just arrived back from this lovely campsite, first time we have been & we loved it.

The club house was lovely & friendly in the evening, the pool was great fun, there was 3 playgrounds as well which my daughter who is 3 years old loved playing in all of them, the shop is well stocked as well, the food in the club house was expensive but was all fresh.

Would we go again : the answer is a yes,

Would we recommend it to everyone else: the answer is yes,

Looking forward to going again next year

Just got back from a five day break at this site and overall it is a very good site.

The views at West Fleet are not great, the campsite further on at Bagwell Farm has far better views. After a short walk along the back of the site you reach the coastal path, which is just lovely.

We were looking to book a four night break but unfortunately we had to commit to 7 nights, which were paid for but not utilised. This is a drawback at this time of year.

The shower block is lovely and tidy, but far too small when the site is at full capacity. We saw queues throughout the day. However, good family room which was always clean and tidy.

The bar in the barn is good fun and great for family entertainment.

We enjoyed our visit in spite of the rain!

Just returned from a very busy bank holiday weekend stay. We have used this site before, but this time we were disappointed. They have added electric hook up pitches around the outside of most of the fields leaving the rest of us to fight for scraps of space.

The facilities, considering the size of the site, are totally inadequate and the new shower block had boiler trouble all weekend.

The 2 family bathrooms (yes only 2) are not for families alone so we were queueing for teenagers to get out.

To sum up in one word - disappointing.

If you like a site where your kid's run riot, scream and shout all night go to the pool un-supervised then this is not the site for you.

After camping for a good few years, I have now found a site that I would recommend and go back to.

The pitches are a good size, well marked out and very clean and tidy.

The swimming pool is well looked after and a joy to use which my family did every time they had 5 minutes.

There are 2 main shower block's the new one and of course the old one, if there was ever a queue in one just go to the other, these were kept at a very good standard and were cleaned at least 3 times a day.

The on site shop covers all the basic's you will need and the staff were really helpful and always made time to have a chat, the bar in the barn served some very good home made food at a good price.

The only down side is the road getting to the site ( one track in places )

On the whole this is a wonderful site, very safe and friendly for a great family holiday, my family didn't want to leave and we have already booked again for next year

An easy site to find just follow their directions. A larger site than we thought but well kept.

The site was busy with most if not all pitches booked. If you don't use a EHU I think it's a case of find somewhere and pitch your tent.

The showers were good, and clean. I found if you used the older shower block you didn't have to queue to get a shower.

The shop is quite large and well stocked with most items, the only gripe was it runs out of papers very quickly, but you can get a paper locally if you miss out.

The playing area was great for my son to play in, fly his kite etc.

We never got to use the pool as there was so much to do and see locally that we ran out of time to try it.

Only thing I would like to see is a one way circuit for the traffic, I think it would make life driving around the site just that little bit easier.

On the whole a good (if not large) site, well worth a visit.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at Sea Barn Farm which although adjacent to West Fleet and owned by the same family has a very different feel to it. It's a much quieter site with really lovely views.

The EHU pitches are large, level, sheltered and very well maintained as the whole site is. The modern shower block was pretty much spotless and always warm and well lit (a must for me as I always need a wee at 3am!) Did have a peek in the older shower block and although clean it's well worth the extra walk to the new one if you're further up. Free hair dryer is also worth a mention.

The only complaint (and it really is only a half complaint) is that the shop could be better although the sausages are really good! The shop at East Fleet camp site is much better though and welcomes visitors from other sites as does the bar / restaurant.

Sea Barn has the use of the clubhouse at Westfleet but although the staff are really helpful and friendly it badly needs updating and the food isn't great.

Despite those minor gripes, can't wait to go back, 10/10 for location and for a really chilled out and relaxed holiday

We have only been camping three times - only to West Fleet Farm so far! Each time we had an electric hookup. The pitches are a great size.

Facilities are spotless and we feel they will be hard to beat, so we keep going back! The food is great in the barn too. The shop seems to have everything you need although as we have only done long weekends so far, we normally take enough for breakfast and buy the rest of the meals (well, I'm on holiday too you know?!).

Staff are so friendly here, never too busy to help.

On our third visit, my husband was taken ill, they couldn't do enough for us! An ambulance was called, staff reassured me and our 15 year old son that they would look after the tent (we were in the middle of packing up on our last day) and they made sure I had one less thing to worry about. Other campers finished putting our tent etc away and were so helpful it really restores your faith in human nature!
