We stayed at the sister site, Sea Barn Farm, stunning sun sets can be seen, good view of sea, plenty of room to spread out. At the time of our visit (2012) they did have an old block of toilets but they had a newer block nearer the office where you could get a great hot shower, underfloor heating, good washing up facilities, separate rubbish/recycling area, shop on site but this was only open at certain times. A great place for a base to go exploring different areas. We had such a good time that we have now moved to Dorset. This site also had a playground for the kids. What I liked about this site was you could pitch where you wanted and there was no one on top of each other. I would definitely recommend this site.

We stayed at this site for 5 days in Aug 2012. It was the first time we had stayed here although we have been to the sister site over the road many times.
I was very happy with the site, we had a level pitch next to a dry stone wall. It was very windy but that's not the fault of the campsite!
Swimming pool was very popular with our 10 year old and the friends he made on the site. Clean, warm and looked after.
Clubhouse which had recently been refurbished was really good, music, food, and a few games machines that the kids liked. I would like to see some lighting outside near the kids play equipment to improve safety if possible.
Campsite was dog friendly, there was a lovely walk down alongside chisel beach for campsite residents only, there wasn't anywhere on the site to exercise dogs though.
The site is about 10 min drive from Weymouth seafront which suited us. If you go, make sure you use the park and ride that is based near Morrisons, much cheaper than parking in town.
Tthe campsite toilets/showers were new, always clean, not very many considering the size of the site, so expect a queue at busy times.
All in all though, we'll def be going back! See you in 2013!

Stayed here for 14 days in August (2 adults and a 11 year old ) and we have already decided to go back next year. We were on a EHU pitch in the centre field in Paddock D. All the units were pitched around the edge of the field with plenty of space between units. This allowed for children and adults alike to practice there sports.
All the facilities were excellent and always clean. The pool was well used(even by the wife) and the bar/club was always busy but with plenty of staff so as queuing wasn't an issue.
All in all a very good site, no complaints at all. Would recommend it to all campers, new and old.

We spent 2 weeks camping here. It is a very large and busy site about 10 mins drive outside Weymouth. It has coastal views and can be quite windy. Nearest main supermarket is Morrisons on the Dorchester Road. The site is clean and tidy.
The electric hookup pitches are spacious and sheltered - we have a very large tunnel style tent which fitted easily onto our pitch. The shower/loo block is obviously brand new and was kept spotlessly clean. The showers were warm - we found the best time to shower was evening as they weren't busy.
There is a covered washing up area towards the rear of the loo block with ample sinks although the hot water takes an age to run. Our kids (aged 11 & 14) spent a lot of time in the park and at the club. The club has nightly entertainment and the food served is very tasty, if a little on the expensive side.
The pool was extremely busy, it being August. It is well sheltered and the water always seemed to be warm. The camp shop was well stocked and the reception staff friendly and helpful. The campsites stringent rules on noise, pool usage and Bbq's were very clear and they patrolled the site regularly.
The circular farm walk from the site offers sublime views esp at sunset over The Fleet and Chesil Beach. In conclusion, This is definitely a family site & we would visit again.
We would recommend a visit to nearby Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door & Man o War beach. Parking is around £7 per day. For a rainy day the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton is well worth it.
We enjoyed Weymouth Sea Life Centre but the entrance price of £60 for a family was exorbitant and off-putting. The leisure centre pool at Dorchester is quiet and inexpensive.

We have just returned from a 10 day wonderful stay at West Fleet. We normally stay at smaller more basic sites but because our kids (we are 2 families with teenage boys)are now at 'the Kevin and Perry' stage we decided to opt for somewhere with more facilities.
The pool was a massive hit with both of them! The lack of lifeguards was not an issue because it clearly states that under 16s need parental supervision. It was really no hardship to stay there with them.
The pitch sizes were fantastic and gave us an amazing communal space between our two tents.
The playfield was excellent for kite flying and football and had a few climbing and swing equipment.
The new toilet block was always spotlessly clean. Kudos to the small band of cleaners. They worked hard. The older block is in need of some serious TLC but was perfectly adequate at a push.
However, I do feel that there should be more facilities for a site this size. The blocks are bang in the middle of the site and it is a bit of a trek if you are in the outer fields. There is also no lighting so you will need a torch at night. Washing up facilities are also really good but water pressure non existent at peak shower times. Plan ahead!
We did eat in the barn on two occasions. First night and mid week as it was too wet and windy to cook. Perfectly edible but nothing to blow your tastebuds. Standard pub grub really with so so prices. The entertainment was geared towards younger kids and was really good. Our boys played pool and the machines in the corner. Two large TV screens also kept the grown-up boys happy as it had the football on.
The shop is really well stocked but as you can imagine on the pricey side but ideal in an emergency. Daily papers available which was a bonus and WiFi vouchers £3 for 24hrs which is not bad really.
West Fleet is a well run site and we would not hesitate to return. The surrounding coastline is just breathtaking. A visit to Charmouth is a must. Fossil hunting and beach combing for sea glass. A wonderful day! Take a picnic!

We were pleasantly surprised upon revisiting the West Fleet Farm Campsite, around 3 miles west of Weymouth, this week. We first visited this site several years ago and the site was lovely but in need of some TLC.
You head down a narrow country lane and it feels like you might never get there but then you arrive at the entrance and all is revealed. The camp site is nestled in a bit of a valley and overlooks 'The Fleet' and the Channel beyond Chesil Bank.
In the years since we were last there a lot of work has been done to the site.
The 'Barn', now the West Fleet Club, has been rebuilt to a lovely standard, serves lovely food/drink and provides live music on some nights.
The pool has been refurbished too and looks really nice. It is now 'heated', although we still found it quite cool, with secured fencing around it to keep the little ones out as well as having two toilets along with some outside showers to rinse off under near the poolside.
Also since we were last there they have built an enormous ablution block in the middle of the site whilst keeping the old block too.
Altogether a nice surprise! The price was ok too so would thoroughly recommend!

Really enjoyed our weekend at West Fleet. The campsite is well planned with plenty of space for tents. At night we could hear the waves on the coast. The misty mornings from the sea air were lovely.
The bathrooms for families were perfect for our 1. 5yr old. The pool was optimal for the 6 year old.
The playground was able to be seen from much of the site - meaning our older son could play safely while we did dishes.
The Saturday night entertainment was a magic show which gave us a much needed rest from entertaining the children ourselves. There was quite a line for the food and drink - nearly 20 minutes - but we weren't in a rush - so this wasn't a huge problem for us.
I also had to wait for the women's showers because of teen girls who took a long time showering after the pool.
Overall I would highly recommend the site. Great short break and great for families.

This was our 3rd stay at west fleet
The site is well laid out with ample free space in front of pitches for kids to play
The shower/toilet blocks are spotless with good hot showers and family bath rooms
Our week fell on the closing Olympic ceremony which we sat on the beach and watched on the big screens,
And the Weymouth carnival.
The only niggle I have about the site is the food menu is limited and a bit pricey.

Just got back from a week's stay at West Fleet Farm - we really enjoyed our stay. The facilities are great for a family holiday.
Everything was kept clean and tidy and the pitches were a good size, felt very roomy and uncramped.
Would definitely recommend this site and the added attraction of the proximity to Weymouth for the Olympic sailing was great.
The kids really enjoyed the pool and the play park.

Had a lovely week here with the missus and kids. Everyone enjoyed the stay.
The site is well off the beaten track and accessed via either of two ways: through the village of Fleet along Fleet Road, which is a narrow country road with passing places along its length; or, turn off the main B3157 Bagwell Farm turning and along a really bumpy dirt/farm track - NOT recommended unless driving an off-road vehicle.
The site has beautiful panoramic views over Lyme Bay. (Sunrise and sunset views are amazing, as is the star gazing opportunity under the broad night sky). It's managed by the same very amiable owners of the nearby Bagwell Farm site and so shares the same high standards of efficiency and cleanliness as that reputable venue. They also have a good policy and reputation for dealing with anti-social behaviour so you should be guaranteed a peaceful stay. The facilities can get a tad busy in the mornings but, what the heck, you're on holiday so go and have yourself an extra cuppa and put your feet up for five minutes until the queue dies down.
The pool was a much appreciated facility, keeping the kids happy for hours. They also spent a little time using the play park/field and wandering about the site exploring, which again kept them happy.
There's a wide selection of pitches, varying numbers of which are sectioned off into smaller, hedged enclosures, providing privacy and comfort whilst also keeping down noise and wind.
The camp shop is as camp shops are with regard to prices and the range of goods. They provide a useful free service of replacing your freeze blocks each day if you use a cool box; only a deposit is required.
Didn't use the Barn restaurant (as we were very self catering) but noticed it had a good range of dishes available, especially the selection of cooked breakfasts. If I remember rightly the camp brochure includes details of dishes and prices so you can plan ahead to see whether or not this is for you.
I really can't fault the site in any way. Only two things marred our holiday: loads of pesky wasps that took a liking for us and our grub, and some noisy teenagers on our last night (they WERE dealt with the next day)!
