Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. A beautifully kept site with plenty of space for our 4 year old and dog.
The tent field can get windy but a wind break soon solves the problem. There are no definitive pitch markers which is great as you can take as much space as you need, even with hook up.
Toilet block is warm and clean at all times.
A shop would have been helpful as we forgot to get breakfast but a quick trip to the village Co-op sorted that out.
Had read on the internet that the site had a coffee bar and restaurant. Have yet to find either. However, the reception office does have a coffee machine at £1.50 a cup!
All in all, would definitely return if visiting the area.

Stayed for 3 nights and will definitely return. All staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make our visit a happy one. Given a very spacious pitch, hardstanding with electric and water and told to park my car on the adjacent pitch as they weren't busy that weekend so wouldn't put anyone next to us. It was very windy the day we arrived and we struggled to put up our awning, however a group of extremely kind and helpful seasonal residents of the park came to our rescue and it was up in about ten minutes. Everyone we passed during our stay said hello and had a smile. In fact, I think this is the most welcoming caravan park I have ever stayed on.
The facilities were very clean and showers lovely and hot. One minor criticism would be that we found that family bathrooms were used by people who didn't really need them i.E. Individuals nipping in to brush their teeth, shower or use the toilet with more privacy than the regular block rather than needing more space for their family. This was annoying when you had to wait but hardly the fault of the park, just ignorance of certain other campers really.
The site was great for our dog with plenty of walks and places for him to run around safely. Lots of dogs on site and all well behaved. The playground looked old but my toddler loved it. There were lots of children on site with a big field to play in but they were not noisy and the park was quiet after dark. Location of site is excellent, just off the A1, and so many nice places to visit within easy reach. The setting of the park is very picturesque so also nice just to enjoy your surroundings if you prefer. Lovely starry skies at night. Looking forward to returning.

Our first trip with a Motorhome and we couldn't have picked a better site to start with. Facilities were 'top notch' and spotlessly clean, also nice and warm. Plenty of toilets and private washbasins and enough shower cubicles if you avoided the morning 'rush' between 8 and 9 am. Lots of free hot water and free use of hairdryer too in the ladies side. Also have 2 family shower rooms which are great if you have young children. Site was not overcrowded even though half-term which could have been down to weather and could imagine facilities would be quite busy if site were full as there is only one block.
Site for caravans and motorhomes seems to be separated into seasonal and touring pitches with touring pitches being those furthest away from the facilities.
Staff were extremely helpful, especially Eric who gave us a hosepipe fitting as ours wouldn't fit onto the tap on the hook-up.
Not having a shop on site could be a downside however it is a very pleasant and easy walk to the Co-op in Belford which has all you could need. The food at the Blue Bell was also good and the staff and locals extremely friendly.

The site was perfect. The staff were always really friendly and helpful. The toilets were immaculate and there were mops to clean up after yourself, and everyone seemed to do this. There are a couple of family bathrooms that have two showers a toilet and sink in them. The site was very flat and the tents were not packed together. There is no shop on site which is the only downside I can think of.
The site it good for getting to Alnwick, Berwick upon Tweed and Lindisfarne - all worth a trip to. There was loads more we could have done but just didn't have the time. There is a lovely beach at Bamburgh Castle and I believe there are other equally nice beaches along the coast.
There is a Morrisons in Berwick and a well stocked camping shop nearby. Would not hesitate to return to this site and would highly recommend it.

This is a lovely site. We stayed for 2 nights with our 3 young children.
On arrival we received a very friendly greeting and were taken up to the tent field to choose our own pitch which was great. Although the site was full there was certainly plenty of space between tents.
There is a nice children's play area and woodland walk which we all enjoyed.
The shower rooms were spotless and the family bathrooms with 2 shower cubicles, sink and loo in each were a godsend to a young family!
Another plus point was the (regularly cleaned) portaloos at the edge of the tent field which meant no need to trek to the bathroom block for midnight loo stops!
This site was a bit on the pricey side but we think worth the extra pennies.
There is no clubroom but the golf club just along the road is very family friendly and there are some nice pubs in Belford itself.

Excellent site. This was a lovely safe place for children; there was plenty of room for tents to pitch and the facilities were great. We especially liked the family shower rooms and the playground and woodland areas. The site was very quiet, with no noise after about 10pm.
The only downside for us was that the tent field was very exposed and this made it very windy. In fact, one tent in our group had to be taken down as the poles snapped in a huge gust of wind.
The site is really well looked after and always seemed to be very clean and tidy. It was quite expensive compared to other sites we have visited, but we will definitely be going back.

My family and I stayed at this beautiful site in mid-August. The fields for the tents were huge and immaculately kept. On arrival we were processed very efficiently and were very impressed by the pitch we were given. So much space for everyone to have their privacy and fun. Very very few rules on site which did encourage one or two visitors to abuse the hospitality - leaving hot taps running and leaving the family block in a complete state. The main toilet / shower block was immaculate at all times but the family block was left filthy, with puddles of dirty water in every cubicle. This site was featured in Alan Rogers Guide (this years) and stated there was a cafe, shop and takeaway on site. None of these were in fact available but the price of the site doesn't appear to have evened out in order to take this into account.
Beautiful site but will not return as it was the most expensive camping week we've ever had. Special mention to George - lovely, helpful man.
Blue Bell Inn and Golf Club - great places to eat in Belford. Every attraction on the coast easily reachable from this site, would highly recommend, if you can afford it.

First class site with excellent facilities and very friendly helpful staff always on hand.
We arrived for the late Bank Holiday week and experienced extreme weather conditions, however the fields were well drained and soon cleared the excess water from the deluges' we experienced.
The surrounding area is outstanding and we enjoyed trips to Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell, Alnwick, Berwick, and a boat trip around the Farne Islands.
The toilet and shower facilities are absolutely spotless with hot water always available anytime of the day or night. The covered washing-up room even has a free supply of washing-up liquid available. A large modern laundrette is within the facility.
Really enjoyed our stay and can thoroughly recommend South Meadows to any prospective visitor!

Just spent one night at this fabulous site - due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cut my 3 day trip short but wanted to leave a view detailing that what little time I had, was thoroughly enjoyed at this site.
The campsite itself was very easy to find, being just off the A1 and then well sign posted from the road. I was very impressed with the immaculately kept grass and flower beds, gave a very professional image. The reception was well stocked with local information and a library from which to purchase books and leave those finished - a fantastic idea. The campsite information provided was very well thought out and the map of the local town provided a nice thoughtful touch.
The facilities were of a very high standard. The shower/toilet block was very very clean, well lit and had more than enough facilities for when the campsite is full. Plenty of toilets, sinks and separate showers including 2/3 family shower rooms which it was pointed out I was more than welcome to use, despite being a lone traveller.
There is a laundrette on site complete with drinks/snack machine, a washing up area (fully stocked with eco friendly washing up liquid), recycling facilities, a child's play area and the lovely Bluebell Woods and dog walking areas.
With having to leave unexpectedly I didn't get to visit any of the local attractions but the site is well placed for visiting local areas such as Jedburgh and Alnwick. The metro centre and Newcastle are only a 30-40 car drive away.
All in all was very impressed and will definitely be returning.

Enquired online and received response in a few hours to inform me of availability. Telephoned to book, deposit taken against credit card. On arrival on the Sunday teatime, greeted by Martin(?), who checked us in. Caravan sited by George who wished to preserve the grass - which is quite understandable as the lawns around the pitches were immaculate. We had a level hardstanding pitch with hook up. The guys double checked our van was level and wound down the steadies. Within minutes the kettle was on! The ammenities block is modern, spacious and kept very clean. Hot water in good supply and soon to be extended with, as I was told, shampoo / conditioner supplied (so as not to upset the bio-digester). No shop on-site, but with the village of Belford so close (10 - 15 mins walk) not a real problem. Co-op is well stocked and there are 3(?) pubs, only sampled the one (which I can't remember the name of) which was good. As only our second site since buying the van I found the overall stay (5 nights) very pleasant. Only small gripe was the attitude (possessiveness) of 'seasonal' visitors. Would definitely consider staying here again if re-visiting the area, which has plenty to offer.
